Chapter 11 - Two Drunks And A Dance
"...Oh and the teacher's really nice and helps me a lot, she's just too adorable and..." Yuka blabbered next to you as you had your lunch. She was genually happy with taking the vocal training course and wouldn't stop talking about it. But her happiness meant a lot to you so you just bared it. Then again, enough was enough.
"Yuka, we should get going" you stopped her talking and pulled her up and dragged her back to work.
"Oh, OK. Miyke-chan, what are you gonna do tonight?" Yuka asked as you entered the salon again. Her question caught you off-guard. This was certainly unexpected.
"Ano, I'm not sure. Probably I'll just see a movie or something."
"Oh no you're not" Yuka exclaimed. "You're going out with me tonight!"
"I'm sorry, Yuka dear, but I don't feel the same way about you like you apparently do for me" you teased her and Yuka grimaced.
"Baka, you know very well what I meant. And there's no way in hell I'm gonna let you stay in that apartment of yours. It's Friday!" she retorded. "No, don't even bother to say something like you don't feel like going out or whatever, you have no say in this matter."
"I thought slavery was illegal" you mumbled when Yuka bounced away to take care of a customer at front.
~After Work~
"See, I told you it would be fun" Yuka sat next to you. You ordered drinks and chatted for about 10 minutes when some guy stopped next to your table and asked Yuka for a dance.
"Eeto... But I'm here with a friend and..." Yuka doubted and looked at you.
"Go, I'll be fine. Have fun" you smiled and encouraged her. She left with the guy to the dancefloor and you ordered yourself a drink.
"Well if it isn't Haynes-san" a voice slurred next to you and you turned around to look inside a pair of warm brown eyes.
"Konban wa, Uruha-san" you smiled to the man. "I didn't expect to see you here."
"Neither did I expect to see you but I'm glad I did. Come with me and see the others" he took your hand and started walking away from the table.
"Wait, I came here with a friend. What if she comes back and I'm not here?"
"Hmm. Good point. Let's find her first and tell her where you are. Then she won't get scared and can join us, ne?" Uruha made a suggestion.
"That sounds great, I'll find her- Wait, my phone's ringing" you pulled out your phone. "Moshi moshi? I was just looking for you, where are you? Nani? Oh, OK. No, I think I'll stay a little longer. NO I didn't find myself 'a hunk'. Don't you even dare... OK, I'll see you tomorrow then. Yes. Oyasumi nasai, Yuka-chan." You put the phone back into our pocket. "She got sick and had to leave. She said it wasn't something serious, though and I shouldn't worry. And it's impossible to convince her otherise. So where are the rest of you?"
"Right this way, Haynes-san" Uruha took your hand and you turned to lead the way.
"Uruha-san, please just call me Miyake, ne?"
"OK and you drop the 'san'" Uruha suggested. "Oi, guys, look who I found all alone!" he called and everyone looked up and smiled seeing you.
"Haynes-san, what are you doing here? Aah who cares" Aoi hopped up and greeted you with a hug. "Make room, you bigbutts" he poked Kai's shoulder and the guys scooted over to make room for you.
"I was out with a friend but she didn't feel well so she had to leave so here I am" you explained to Aoi and he nodded.
"Yeah, and ain't it great that I found Miyake-chan and brought her here?" Uruha shined.
"URUHA, you're being impolite again!" Kai frowned.
"She told me I could call her by her first name, honestly" Uruha defended himself and you nodded to Kai.
"He's speaking the truth, I did ask him to call me that. And so can the rest of you" you smiled.
"Alright, if you say so" Kai smiled back and turned to Aoi. "Can you get us some drinks? Apple juice for me, as usual."
"You're so boring, you know that? Fine, what do you want?" Aoi turned to the rest of the band and you. Everyone gave their orders and Aoi turned to you.
"I'm fine" you lifted your glass, showing you still had half of your drink left. "I'm not much of a drinker."
"Alright. I'll be right back. Uruha, let's go, I can't carry all the drinks by myself" Aoi turned and walked towrds the bar with Uruha following him.
"Konban wa, Miyake-san" a soft voice greeted you from behind. You turned around to see Ruki taking a sip from his glass and smiling to you.
"Konban wa, Ruki-san. May I ask what are you all doing here?"
"You just did" Ruki reminded you. "We have only this night free from our schedule and felt like going out. Plus Reita needs to get himself a girlfriend so we thought we'd help him find one" he grinned towards Reita.
"Shut up, midget-boy. And I can find myself a girl if I need to, thank you very much" Reita defended himself.
"Aww, what's that no-nose? Struck a nerve, didn't I?" Ruki laughed. "OI! What was that for?" he asked Kai who had hit him on the head.
"I will not have you two fighting like that and especially in front of Haynes-san" Kai said, sounding annoyed by the two men bickering like little children.
"Relax, dude, we're only joking" Ruki laughed and took another sip of his drink.
"And I wouldn't drink too much if I were you, Ruki. Two drunks is enough, I don't think I could drag three drunks home" Kai sighed. "Remember, you promised to stay half-sober tonight?"
"Yeah, I remember. Don't worry. NANI?" Ruki turned his attention towards Reita who had poked his shoulder.
"I think I saw something I like" Reita stated and slipped off the chair and walked towards the bar.
"One drunk less" Ruki grinned, but seeing yor puzzled expression, explained. "He probably saw some girl he liked and went to make his move. Don't worry, he's a big boy and can take care of himself."
"And I'm back!" Aoi landed back on his seat after setting the drinks on the table. "Missed me?"
"Nope, not at all. But I did miss the drinks. Hand it over" Ruki laughed and grabbed his new glass. "Tokorode, where's Uru?"
"Oh, he said he was still way too sober and stayed to chat with the lady from the bar" Aoi said and raised his glass. "Banzai!"
"Banzai" Ruki clashed his glass together with Aoi. "So there's four of us-"
"Where'd Reita disappear to?" Aoi cut in, looking around and not seeing the blonde.
"He saw a girl and went hunting" Ruki answered. "Whatever, Miyake-san, would you care to dance?"
"Eeto, I'm not much of a dancer" you mumbled but Ruki stood up and stepped in front of you.
"Nonsense, it's much more simple than it looks. I'll show you" and with that you got up and followed Ruki to the dancefloor which was crowded with people moving and swaying around. Ruki found a spot near the back and turned around to face you.
"Just let the music carry you. Let it flow through you and move along with the rhythm" he instructed and you tried to do like he said, moving your body.
"Ne, you're too tense. Loosen up" Ruki commented and took a step behind you. "Trust me, I'll help you..." he said and placed his hands on your hips. "Just go with the music" he murmured near your ear and guided your hips to move along with the music blasting from the speakers. After a while you got the movements coordinated with the music but Ruki's hands didn't leave your hips. Since the club was packed, there wasn't much room and his body was pressed against yours. You could feel his body moving with yours, his hands holding your hips, his breath tickling on your skin and you closed your eyes enjoying the feeling and being lost in the music.
"See, I told you it wasn't that hard" Ruki murmured in your ear and you opened your eyes again, feeling his hands caressing your body.
"Hai, you were right - this isn't that hard" you answered but at the next moment your heart stopped. The song had ended and now a slow song was being played. You quickly turned around.
"Ano... What now?"
"I wouldn't mind if you wanted to sit. But if no, we can also dance to this one" Ruki suggested and you could have sworn he was blushing when he said those words.
"It's ok. But it's really up to you."
Ruki smiled and took your hands, placing them on his shoulders. His hands were on your sides, pulling you closer to him. You swayed along with him and leaned your head on his shoulder. His hands were now on your back, his fingers sroking your skin. You could feel something rise inside you when you felt Ruki's breath on your skin once more but forced it down. Ruki must have felt something too because his body tensed when you must have got too close so when the song ended he let you go and you both walked back to the table not changing a word.
"You're back" Kai said and tried to grab Aoi's drink. Aoi himself was laughing with Uruha who had returned and now they were telling jokes.
"Miyake-chan's back. And Ruki's back too" Aoi slurred and hit Uruha's arm.
"I saw that too, dumbass" Uruha rubbed his arm and punched Aoi for revenge. "What took ya so long?"
"Damatte, the both of you. It's none of your business anyway. Ruki, I think they're wasted enough. So you grab Uruha and I'll get Aoi. Damn Reita for taking off like that" Kai cursed and grabbed Aoi to help him stand up and started walked towards the exit with Aoi stumbling and singing some random song. You looked over to Ruki who had got a hold of Uruha who was muttering complete nonsense and motioned you to follow him so you grabbed your jacket and purse and followed the vocalist outside where you saw Kai trying to put Aoi in his car but not succeeding since Aoi crawled out again and started singing very loudly while dancing around the car. Uruha started singing too and you just couldn't help but to laugh at the two drunks and Kai chasing them in the parking lot. Ruki finally grabbed Aoi and threw him to the backseat of Kai's car along with Uruha who was now laughing about some pixies sitting on his lap and Aoi joined him as they started discussing how cool it would be if people would drive doughnuts to work instead of cars.
"Arigatoo, Ruki. I'll probably have to hear their drunk-talk during the whole drive" Kai shivered at the thought. "Take care, Haynes-san" he hugged you goodbye. "I'm coming, quit your singing already or you'll have to walk all the way home" he snapped at the two guitarists who were now trying to figure out who was the better singer and got into his car.
"Poor Kai" you giggled at the sounds of Aoi and Uruha trying to sing a high note and failing misreably as Kai drove off.
"He'll be fine as soon as he drops them off" Ruki laughed. "Last time they decided to sing opera so you can imagine the outcome of that."
"I don't think I want to hear that..." you laughed when a desperate shout echoed across the parking lot.
"I'm sure it was Ruki. He headed this way. I can't wait until I can grab him" some girl's voice was heard. Suddenly you were pulled behind a trashcan.
"Fangirls" Ruki silently whispered. The voices came closer and you both ducked behind the trashcans like some stray cats. There wasn't very much room, though, so your bodies were pressed together again. But this time it was much more serious so you stayed perfectly silent as Ruki pressed you closer to him to hide you from the girls' sight. It must have worked because after a few minutes the girls left, complaining. You got up, brushed your clothes and observed as Ruki ran to his car, opened it and hopped in. After a second his head popped out again.
"Why are you still there? Hurry, before they might return. I'll take you home."
"You sure? You had a few drinks back there" you pointed to the club.
"Trust me, after a close call like that I feel as sober as hell. Now get in already" Ruki opened the other door and you slipped into his car. Ruki started the engine and since it was late at night, there was almost no traffic so after 5 minutes of driving you stepped out of the vehicle and waved Ruki goodbye.
"You sure you want to drive? I have a spare room, you could just get sober and drive back tomorrow" you suggested but Ruki shook his head.
"No, it would be impolite. Besides I'm almost sober, I only had two drinks back at the club and the night air helps to sober up too. Oyasumi, Miyake-san."
"Alright, if you're sure about my offer. Oyasumi, Ruki-san" you waved to him again as he drove off.
You got inside your house and locked the door behind you, throwing your purse and jacket on the couch. After you had removed your make-up, you fell on your bed to get some much deserved sleep.

Just one day and that's what happens. I don't even wanna know about the alcohol they drank...*giggles*
