here is a story on what happened one
Halloween to 5 friends and me. It was a very dark night (Halloween was tomorrow!!) and I’d have to take my brother Keith trick or treating. Brianna (nickname Bree) Abbie, me, Emma, Ali, and Erin are all 13, We're at my house for a sleepover and we were all in the attic. ''Hey guys look what I found!!!'' Said Emma. It was an article and it here's what it said.
Is It Hunted or A Curse???

Rumors have started again about house 13 on West Avenue. Everybody is now curious on weather it's haunted or not. Nobody at first believed the note that was found at Mr. Monty’s death scene. The note said, "Unless 6 brave young people enter and defeat the obstacles this house will forever be cursed. They will all have to sacrifice one person to me!!!!!" Later we interviewed a local resident Mrs.Amlea Granite." James Monty was a great guy. I never thought he'd pass away this way. Everybody loved him" For some reason why it wants 1 young and brave person we do not know. We all hope that nobody will try to go in. There’s a short-cut though the cemetery which is very weird we don't know why it's there.... rest on page 18
"Whoa that's scary and kind of cool at the same time!!! Its only 2 years older than us to!" said Alli.
"Did it say 6 brave and YOUNG people” I replied
" Yeah why Ven???" asked Emma
"I think she wants to go!!!” Screamed Abbie
"What!!! Are you mental!? Yelled Brianna.
"Didn't you read the sacrifice part???'' Asked Erin.
"I think we should sacrifice Erin,” mumbled Bree .
"Hey I heard that Brianna.'' Yelled Erin.
"Let's sneak out.” I yelled over everyone else.
''Or we can ask your mom and dad to go” Erin said sarcastically
"That's a great idea Erin!!!" I said
"I was being sarcastic.,” she yelled.
“If we actually go we can take turns filming it for our project that will have all of our names on it” said Emma.
"I can't believe we're going!!" Brianna said her voice shaky
"Let's go though the cemetery it'll take 5 minutes and we have until 12:00 and it's 7:30. Around would take 10 minuets." said Ali.
Emma suggested that if we don't want to go though it that's one pair or group. Ali and Emma went around. Brianna, Abbie, and Erin stayed with me to go in. Ali did say something scary to us before we went in. She said,’ I’m not going in because of the zombies.” So our group got to take the camcorder first.
"Do you think what Ali said was true.” asked Abbie leaving on the video camera.
"Probably not." I replied but had been very wary since we had entered…this place was giving me the creeps. I bad aura u could say
"I don't believe in things like monsters and ghosts." said Brianna.
"Well that's you not us.” said Erin.
“Will you two stop fighting for once?” Yelled AbbieOne minute later we all screamed (even Brianna) there were zombies everywhere in front of us.
“ They’re protecting the curse,” I yelled.
“ How do you know? Asked Erin
“I just do.” I replied as I hid something in my pocket
“She read the rest of the story on page 18 duh!!” Replied Brianna
“Great what else can go wrong? Asked Abbie.
“We could die here or in the house” I replied sort of calmly.
“Don’t act so calm you act like you don’t care if we die or get hurt!!!” Erin screamed
“ I still say we sacrifice Erin you know! All she does is scream at us!” Said Brianna softly
“ DO YOU THINK I AM DEAF? I CAN HEAR YOU!” Screamed Erin
“See my point exactly.” Said Brianna
“Will you two stop fighting? We are about to be attacked by zombies in like two seconds!” Yelled Abbie to shut them up. But she was right the zombies were drawing closer and closer by the second now they were about 5 feet away from us!
“Let’s run back the other way!” Said Abbie It was to late we were surrounded all the way in front, the sides, and behind.
“Okay now what are we going to? I replied with no feeling because I had lost all common sense in my mind all I could think about was never seeing my friends again.
” Okay anyone have an idea?” Asked Brianna
“How ‘bout we fight our way though? We’re all in karate right?” I finally suggested.
“AHHH! Help me!” Screamed Brianna. The zombies had grabbed her ankle and started dragging her toward a grave!!
“This is such great footage!” Said Abbie still shooting the Video camera.
“Okay then how do we fight a bunch of dead people? Without their heads coming off or arm or leg?” Asked Erin
God only knows how long it took til we finally escaped. We were all bloody and bruised and I think my ankle was sprained because I had to walk with a limp. We stopped and saw a track made by a wolf.
“Wolves don’t live here?” Asked Bree shockingly.
“Course not they wouldn’t right Ven?” asked Erin looking at me hopefully.
“Well we do have a couple of them around here. But they only have a footprint that shows 4 toes this one has 5…. like us.” I replied awkwardly
“Hey slowpokes come on!” said Ali and Emma apparently they saw us near the door.
“Hey guys it is 8:00 we have 4 hours left!” said Emma
“Wow that fight took us 30 minutes!” Exclaimed Abbie
Alli and Emma look at each other. “What fight?” they exclaim at the same time faces both confused
“No that fight took us 28 minutes. We were staring at that footprint for 2 minutes.” Said Bree
“What footprint? We had found a huge wet slimy one!” said Emma
So we told them everything that happened during the graveyard scene.
“Whoa and we weren’t a part of it?” Said Ali
“Come on that took like 20 minutes to tell ‘cause it is 8:20!” Said Abbie “We better get in there and out quickly” Replied Erin.
“Scared much?” I asked.
“I am not scared!” Erin replied
“WILL YOU TWO SHUT UP?!” Yelled Brianna.
“Now you know how annoying you two are when we have to listen to you” replied Abbie
“Now it is 8:35 are we going in or not?” Yelled Ali.
“Wow this is freaky! We are in a dead man’s house!” exclaimed Emma once the door had creaked open and we stepped in.
I guess we walked right into a living room… there were couches, an old broken T.V. set, a radio, a little coffee table, and a few pictures and the walls and shelves. Everything was covered in a layer of dust.
“This is wicked sick man!” I exclaimed
“Stop acting so brave Vendala. We all know your not that brave.” Erin Said.
“See I still think we should sacrifice Erin!” Brianna said loudly.
“Will you SHUT UP!!!!” Ali, Emma, Abbie and I yelled“Why don’t you guys shut up?’’ Yelled Brianna
“Yeah seriously all you and Ali say is how cute boys are and you to Ven ’oh boys are so cute’ gag,” Said Erin, pretty soon everyone was yelling at each other and fighting like no tomorrow!
”I LIKE CHEESEBUGERS!” I yelled making them all look at me like I had 20 heads
“Now that I got your attention for me let’s go explore.. it is now 9:00! We only have 3 hours left” I said.
“ We are now in the living room of Mr. Monty’s house! This is where it was said he got killed!” Said Emma who was documenting this for our project.
“Come on Emma this isn’t that important to document yah know!” Said Erin.
“Is it me or is the house getting bigger?” Asked Brianna.
“Oh it is just your imagination.” I replied my voice shaky. I thought I was the only one who had noticed!
Alli had touched a space on the wall and then..
“AHHHHHHHHHH!!!” We all screamed. We had just fallen though the floor
“Everyone ok?” I asked
“Ugg. My leg hurts a little bit!” said Abbie
“ Hey Emma did you get this on tape” asked Erin
“Yeah I’m pretty sure I did!” She replied. Her voice sounded cheery even though we just had fallen though the floor
“Anyone have a flashlight? I can’t see a darn thing in here! Were are we exactly?” Asked Ali
“Uh… I think it is the basement.” Replied Abbie
“Well someone have a flashlight or find a light switch?” Asked Ali
“Wait I have one in my bag” I replied
“So how the heck do we get out of here?” Asked Emma
“OWCH WHO JUST HIT ME?” Yelled Brianna
“Sorry Brianna I didn’t see you there.” Erin said laughing
“You did the on purpose Erin!” said Brianna. Knowing her she’ll want revenge.
“Well you two shut the..”
“Found it!!!” I said before Abbie could finish the sentence.
“Hey I think I found something.” Said Ali. Her voice cracking for fear I suggest.
“Hey me too except it is on my leg!!!!” Yelled Emma
I flashed my flashlight toward them and they have spiders on them!!
“AHHH I HATE SPIDERS!!” Yelled Ali
“Me to but these ones won’t hurt you they’re daddy long-legs. They look scary because their legs are huge, but their body is 1-2 sometimes 3 millimeters big.” Replied Brianna
“ You are a freak yah know?” said Erin looking at her awkwardly
“Erin that’s it! Vendala can we please sacrifice Erin?” Asked Brianna
“NO WE ARE NOT SACRIFICING ANYONE SO SHUT UP!” I yelled
“WHAT ABOUT THE ARTICLE. TO DEFEAT THE CURSE U MUST SACRIFICE A PERSON!”
“I DON’T GIVE A DARN WHAT THE ARTICLE SAYS I AINT GUNNA LET YOU GUYS OR MYSELF DIE!”
“ Hey Ven the lights are on!” Exclaimed Abbie trying to shut us up I guess
“Yes let’s go upstairs! Coming Ven?” Asked Ali
She asked that ‘cause I stood where I was for 2 minutes while everyone went upstairs.
“Um…. Oh what? Sure 1 second.” I replied
I went upstairs thinking how the light switch turned on if it was upstairs next to the basement door? How did we fall though solid wood?? I wondered if this is a set-up a hunted house if you would. Then I realized what it was

“TRAP! THIS HOUSE IS GETTING BIGGER AND IT IS FOR US TO DIE IN!!! GUYS IT IS A TRAP!!! GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE..”
SLAM!! The noise cut me off. We all ran for the door but it shut and locked!! The windows too!! We were stuck in there!!
“Smart Little girl!” We herd out of the ceiling.
“ Took James longer to find out but he did good in the tasks. Ah well anyway so I hear you want to sacrifice Erin” It said
“No we were kidding around nope not her!” Brianna replied her voice shaking at the thought of what she had been saying.
“Fine then we shall find out what happens goodbye little ones we’ll see if you make it to me!”
“That was super weird!!” Emma said
“And super close” Erin said pretending to wipe sweat off her forehead.
“Ven? where’d she go?” Exclaimed Bree
“She was right here with us right?” Asked Abbie
“Did it take her?” Asked Ali
“No I am looking around the house,” I said popping my head out from around the corner,” And look at this picture!”
It was a picture of James Monty on a trip with a girl who we believe to be his wife and they had a small boy! ‘Wonder who he is’ I thought
“I wonder what happened to her?” Asked Brianna
“She died a year before he did.” I replied
“How did you … oh right you read the rest of the story.” Said Erin
“ Hey look at this!” I found something!” Ali said
“Ali don’t touch.” Said Emma
“Hey! Why not?”
“ ‘Cause the basement incident!” Replied Brianna.
“ I wonder why it killed him.” Said Ali
“ Me too.” agreed Emma.
“I wonder how it knew James Monty.” Said Abbie
“Um…guys?” Said Bree
“Yea Brianna?” replied Erin
“Is it my imagination or are there suits of armor coming towards us with weapons in their hands?” She asked eyes wide
We all turn around and sure enough suits of armor had somehow come to life and was coming our way!
“Okay Ven how do we get out of this one? Ven? VEN!” Screamed Abbie
“Where is she now? In the dinning room checking out the china?” Asked Brianna sarcastically.
“NO! I am right here and think of something for yourselves!” I replied backing up towards the wall thinking of a plan to get out somehow.
“Yeah Vendala wouldn’t leave us like that in mortal danger!” Said Erin
“Whatever. We need a plan to get out of here and not die.” Said Emma
“How ‘bout we just kick their butts?” suggested Ali
“NO NO AND NO! They can kill us with those things!” I yelled
“So you are going to help us beat them?” Asked Erin hopefully
“No but I will be right back. Just run in all direction make them hit themselves or each other. Like in old cartoons!” I said making it a slight joke
”And where are you going?” asked Emma.
“To the kitchen!” I replied
“This is not the time for refreshments Vendala!” Yelled Brianna probably mad at me
“knives and forks are probably in there! Plus I am getting thirsty!” I replied laughing nervously
“Whatever!” Ali said dogging the club and running so it hit the armor next to it. Then the armor dissolved. I ran in to the kitchen. As I backed into the kichen I heard them cheering and clanging to the floor. We were winning!
I heard footsteps behind me thinking it was Ali, Emma, Brianna, Abbie or Erin I didn’t turn around but kept looking for a weapon of my own.
When I felt a hand on my should I turned around and…
“AHHHHHH!” I screamed because right in front of me was a werewolf!!
“Don’t hurt me please!” I pleaded
“Why did I just say that? It can’t understand me.” I asked myself
“I will do what I was asked.” The wolf replied
“Not hurt me! Right?”
“No I will not hurt you. You are the ones he wants. I was sent here to retrieve you and your friends.” He replied staring at me.
“Who’s ‘he’? What does he want with friends and me? Wait this IS a trap. That newspaper was fake! And who are you and why are you here?” I said.
“Vendala! We won why did you…!” Yelled Abbie running into the kitchen
“Oh my god it is a werewolf!” Screamed Ali.
“Relax he’s not going to hurt us at least that is what he told me.” I said looking at him. He curtly nods his head in reply as I breathe out a sigh of relief
“Now if you don’t mind follow me.”
“No I will not follow you!” Said Emma standing her ground
“Yeah how do we know you won’t eat us?” Asked Brianna eyes wide.
“Come on guys. He is not going to eat us!” I said. I didn’t know him but I felt as though he had a connection to James and I felt as though I should trust him.
“How do you know? Just because he said he wouldn’t? I don’t trust him!” Yelled Ali
“Sorry Ven, but I agree with Ali.” Erin replied with a sad look on her face. They all stood their ground and wouldn’t move. I look over at the were wolf and he gives me a small smile...i don’t know why but my heart skipped a beat when he did.
“Well I do trust him. He hasn’t hurt us has he?” I replied looking at their horrified faces. They were probably all thinking the same thing ‘How could she trust that thing?’
“No but who says he won’t? Replied Emma
“Well then I guess I will have to bring you guys with me by force!” he said.
“See isn’t it better if you just came than what you are doing now?” I asked. The werewolf had to fight with them to get them in the bag they where in. It wasn’t a small bag either! It was huge and I bet it was roomy.
“Hey you werewolf uh we only have 2 hours left!! Actually 1 hour and 30 minutes!” said Erin
“I don’t care you have to talk to the master!” He said dragging the bag.
“See I told you he’s gonna eat us!” said Brianna to Ali, Emma, Abbie, and Erin.
“I will not eat you! So Shut up!” the werewolf snapped
I was laughing at the thought of what their faces might look like now. They were probably having a whispered conversation about the werewolf and I.
5 minutes later we were going down the stairs (At least I was walking. Ali, Emma, Abbie, Brianna, and Erin were being dragged!)
“I can’t.. Ow..believe ouch! that we are.. OOOWWW … being held hostage the night before Halloween. And we are going to die here.” Said Brianna
“ See what you got us into Ven? Just because we trusted you!” Yelled Erin
“ Okay stop ragging on me! Are you guys still videotaping everything?”
Yes but right now all we see is total darkness and we are leaving it on so our viewers can listen to us.” Said Ali
“Yah here.” Someone said handing me the camera,” and how could you trust a werewolf that you have just met? I MEAN DO YOU SERIOUSLY TRUST HIM?” asked Abbie. I could feel the ware wolfs eyes on me. I blushed furiously
“Thanks. There are so many cool things that are on the walls and stuff. To bad you guys had to be so stubborn! And yes I do trust him he is sweet unlike you guys! You guys are never like this” I said defensively. I looked at the ware wolf out of the corner of my eye and I could tell he was smiling and his eyes were glistening
“No we won’t stop ragging on you.. We don’t care if the were wolf was sent here to get us by him. I still think he will eat us.”Erin replied
“ To answer your questions from all of your little expedition of tonight ‘him’ is the spirit that killed James. James and I were very close he was my father. This is a trap… that newspaper is a fake! They never wrote anything about my father’s death in it. Not to scare people away from town you know? The spirit, has been watching each of you for reasons I do not know. I am Jack. I am stuck here because I saw my father get murdered and at the time the spirit was alive in human form as was I. Also he turned me into this ugly thing. And put a type of spell on me so I can never leave this house.”
“ Can we get out of this thing it hurts.” Asked Ali
“No you will try to run away.” Jack said with a smirk.
“How old are you?” I asked out of a newfound curiosity, he was actually a really cool guy!
“Right now I am fifteen. How old are you?”
“Wow so was James your father when he died?” asked Emma.
“Yes he was my father. I miss him very much.” Jack said with sad eyes looking at the floor. I guess he was lonely and has had no one to love him.
“I am so sorry Jack!” Said Brianna.
“I’m sorry to. I guess you aren’t going to eat us!” said Abbie
“I told you I wouldn’t now didn’t I?” he said Laughing
“I am 13. Was that picture in the living room you your mom and James on a trip when you were little? Do you have another family member to live with?” I asked. When I finally realized what was happening. We have stopped in a big room with 4 doors. A door on either side,
“Here we are Vendala. Take them out of the bag please. I have to go talk with Victor.” Jack said not answering my question.
“How did you know my name?” I asked
“I heard you being called that by your friends.” He said smiling at me then walking though one of the four doors.
“Ok guys you know that whatever happens we stick together right?” I said after Jack went in the room trough the doors.
There was a murmur of whatever’s and a fine.
“Listen I know you guys are very mad at me, but can you get over it or what?” I asked
“No and shut up so we can this over with. It’s already…oh my god its 11:30!” Said Brianna
“Before we do get this over with… Vendala you like Jack.” Said Ali
“NNNNNOOOOO!! Why would you say that? He was just being nice to me so I was nice back.” I replied my cheeks getting hot
“Sure he was. I bet he likes you too.” Replied Emma
“Abbie do you believe what they are saying?” I asked
“Yes I do.” Abbie replied to me with a certain look on her face.
“So Vendala did you film everything on the camera for us?” Asked Erin changing the subject.
“Yes I did here!.” I said while I shoved it in Emma’s arms as soon as Jack came though the doors.
“Jack! Is that you?!” I asked surprised and wide- eyed because a very hot
teenager had just walked though the doors. He had longish light-brown hair, dazzling blue-green eyes, a muscular build!
“Yes Vendala it is me in the flesh. Get it I have skin instead of hair!” He replied laughing and smiling at me. With a bright smile. My heart melted.
“Ok see I told you he liked you!” said Ali making me turn a slight shade of red. Jack just satre at me and Alli and is trying not to blush or smile.
“Shall we go in girls or do you guys want to talk?” Jack asked looking at me.
“Can we have second alone?” Asked Emma
“Yes I’ll go tell him.” Replied Jack solemnly nodding his head and wakls though the door.
“See Ven? He likes you why else would he look at you? And we are going to die when we enter that room you know.” Said Ali
“OK SHUT UP JACK DOES NOT LIKE ME!! WE JUST MET!” I yelled
“There is a thing of crush at 1st sight!” said Brianna
“You mean love at first sight right Bree?” replied Alli with a smirk
“Fine then you like him.!” Said Erin. It made me blush but still protest.
“I do not like him. He does not like me end of story!” I yelled still blushing.
“Then why are you blushing?” asked Ali
“Are you guys ready?” asked Jack. He problay heard what we were talking about because he walked in his cheeks a slight shade of pink. Plus he walked in at just the right time.
“Yes I guess we are.” Replied Brianna
“Vendala may I talk to you? Alone? Jack asked looking at all my friends then back at me.
“Ooo!” Said everyone.
“Be quiet we do not like each other we just met”I yelled to them. At that precise moment Jack took my hand and took me in to a room (his cheeks even more pink and mine turning bright red.), but not the one that he had just exited from.
We entered the room and the hall fell as silent as a funeral without the crying. They were problay listening at the door those sneaks oh well.
“So what do you want to talk about?” I asked weirdly
“I would like to warn you about what might happen in there ok?” He said still holding my hand
“Sure but why didn’t you tell Brianna, Erin, Ali, Emma, and Abbie?” I asked.
“Because to me it seems as though they made you the leader in the group.”
“Ha no way. All I did was tell them to beat up the zombies and not to beat up the knights make them hit themselves and this is all my fault they are here I wanted to come and check everything out! So if anyone is to be sacrificed its me.”
“ No there will be no real sacrifice, that I know of. He said looked at the floor and continued on. “ Uh..Anyway ok he’ll ask you some questions and stuff and then I’m not sure if he’ll do this he’ll ask me to do something and I have to or he’ll kill all of you and me. When he asks me to do what I must. I’ll help you though this as much as I can Vendala and don’t worry your friends too.” Jack said with a forced smile on his face like he knew something bad was about to happen.
“What do you mean by no real sacrifice?”
“You shall find out soon enough.”
“Before we go in Jack how did he know your dad and why’d he kill him?”
“Ask him. I don’t even know why
“ Ok are we ready to rumble or what Jack?” He asked as soon as we walked through the doors
“Yes we are.” Jack replied sadly and walks toward a corner on the other side of the room.
“Why’d you kill James?” Asked Erin.
“Because he was dumb and an idiot.” Victor replied.
“He was not and idiot!” Said Jack from behind me. It made me jump.
“ Where did you came from I thought you were in the corner.” I whispered
“Ahh sticking up for your idiotic father? Funny because you didn’t even know him. If you did you’d have you would agree with me.” Victor said
“No I would not agree with you!” Screamed Jack
“Hey so what do you want us for?” Asked Brianna with her hands on her hips
“Didn’t you all read the rest of the article on the second page or did you only read the front page?” Asked Victor in a bored voice.
“No only Vendala.” Replied Abbie
“Yeah that is why we had her go first in the house and help us trough this.” Said Emma hurriedly
“Shut up!” I said
“She is just telling the truth!” Said Erin. ‘Wow my friends are backstabbers!’ I thought
“Victor so what do you want with us?” Asked Ali for Brianna who was in shock of what was happening.
“What do I want with you? You guys are possing something I want but someone posses them all!” he says looking at me.
‘Oh crap!’ I thought and gulped.
“Now if someone will please step forward.” He said. We all look at each other I begin to walk forward while everyone (even Jack) tries to hold me back.
“I thought you said you weren’t gunna have them sacrifice anyone! Jack yelled eyes and voice filled with fear.
“Oh well I lied. I want power!” He said as I was accidentally let go and pushed out into a space. As I stood there a bright light came and I fall to the floor. My body is aching and I being to gasp for air. It felt as though I had just gotten into a bad fight and I was now being strangled to death. Everything began to go black and my breathing begins to stop.
“VENDALA!!!!!” I could everyone scream.
A few seconds later I actually being to breathe again. I open my eyes and blink a few times, everything is blurry, and Victor looks like he’s…knocked-out? Everyone runs up to me as Jack picks me up and sets me right on my feet having one arm around my waist. I could feel my strength regaining quickly and cheeks heat up. Everyone looks at how Jack is holding me and he looks at me turns red and smiles and slowly slides his hand away. As soon as his hand is off of me the house begins to shake.
“Run girls! RUN! Get out of here!” Yelled Jack
“Hey Ven it is 4:00 in the morning! We do have to get out of here!” Yelled Emma who was thankfully still holding the camera. It was also on so she is catching what is going on.
“Jack are you coming or not?” I yelled as the house began to slowly have the lights flicker and shake more. We were really far from the entrance so we needed to get out before Victor woke up or the house falls
“Hold on I need to get this curse off the house so he can’t kidnap any more people like yourself and he will never kill anyone one again!” He yelled though the rumbling as he took out a knife.
“No I will!” I yelled running toward him, as Victor was coming to but not a lot.
“Ven come on we have to get out of here!” yelled Ali
“I swear if you don’t move I will kill you!” yelled Erin
“Agreed!” Emma Brianna and Abbie yelled together,
All of them ran over to us as Victor was coming to even more to the point he was almost up..
“What is the problem?” They all asked at different times obviously not hearing each other. Now Since Victor was probably mad the house was shaking more violently.
“The curse has to be lifted!” Jack and me yelled at the same time.
“Well what do we do? Who do we kill to sacrifice?” Asked Abbie with wide eyes.
“We don’t need to kill anybody only give blood!” Yelled Jack at that point he cut a bit of his arm and ran up to Victor and dropped the blood in a container.
The shaking stopped for a moment, we all sighed in relief but, then it started to crumble.
“Run!” I yelled Grabbing Jack and Brianna’s hand. We ran as fast as we could the house was coming down. A piece hit my shoulder and I winced at the pain. Emma missed a huge piece by centimeters, as did everyone else, But Jack. A big piece fell and smashed his forearm (the one still holding my hand). All of us got out just in time, as soon as we ran out the house fell. We watched it in awe. Then we saw 2 white things come out. One screaming and one coming toward us.
“Jack.” It said.
“Dad?” jack replied.
“Thank you for releasing my soul. Thanks to all of you. By the way Jack…You have a great girl right there!” He said looking at me making Jack and I both blush.
Jack replied” Dad she isn’t my girl! Neither are her friends.”
His dad looks at our hands that are still clasped together and looks up at Jack. I turn bright red and let go of his hand slowly and walk backwards towards my friends standing in the middle.
“Thanks again to all of you.” James said and slowly drifted upwards.
I give each and everyone of my friends a hug we are seriously covered in dirt, rock, silt, I even had some blood coming out of my shoulder where the rock hit. I stop as I turn to face Jack, my face still red. Then I noticed he has a grin on his pinkish-reddish face. I go in to hug him but,
“Vendala it’s almost 4:30!! Come on!” Yelled Alli
I hear Jack sigh as I grab his hand instinctively and run towards my house. Brianna, Alli, Emma, Erin and Abbie close behind. I turn onto my street and sprint to my front door and open it very slowly.
“Shhh my parents are sleeping guys unless you want to get in trouble keep talking.” I said because they were all talking behind Jack and me.
“Oh don’t tell them to shush! Vendala Marie Cucinotta! You guys said home by 12:00 and it is4:45!” My dad yells. Then Jack catches his eye. “Girls who is this?” He said looking him up and down his eyes finally catching my hand in Jack’s. I quickly drop his hand and walk up to my dad.
“Dad you want to see why we were late here watch this.” I said
I hooked up the camera to the TV and we watched everything. The part when we were walking to the house and having a great time. Then the part when Emma gave Abbie the camera and then zombies coming out of the graves. Then when we fell though the trap door and everything else that happened that night we had to relive it though that movie and in our minds.
“Girls I didn’t know that happened and stuff I should have thought about it before I yelled.” My dad said. Voice shaking, I walk over to him hug him and comfort him.
“No dad it is alright. No one would have predicted what happened tonight.”
“When you didn’t come home I thought I had lost you and all of your friends but now I see why you guys didn’t come home!” my dad said hugging me even tighter if it was humanly possible. I was trying to pull back from lack of breath.
“Hey where is Mrs. Cucinotta?” Asked Ali
“She’s upstairs sleeping.” Dad said
“By the way this is Jack. Jack this is my dad.” I said
They shook hands and then they started talking about what he did for my friends and I during the trip and he thanked him for saving our lives sort of.
I went outside and the sun was coming up. It was only 5:45. We skipped some of the movie.
Then I hear the door open but I did not turn around. Some people I know set off fireworks around this time but I guess they are setting it up right now. They do it every morning as a wake up call and ask me and all my friends what we thought about it. We always say fine. But I do not know why they are running late today. If they do run late It starts at 5:35
“Hey.” I heard the voice and I knew exactly who it was
“Hey yourself Jack.” I said turning around and smiling at him.
“Since I saved you I think I deserve something.” He smirked
“I agree what would you like? A hug?” I said smiling
“A hug will do I guess.” He replied with a sheepish grin I walk up to him slowly and hug him tightly putting my head on his shoulder.
“Thanks again. I’d be dead right now if it wasn’t for u” I whispered in his ear.
“Your very welcome. I couldn’t let you or your friends die. Because.” But he never finished because…
“Aw!” we were still in the hug when we turn our heads to see Abbie, Bree, Alli, Emma and Erin looking at us.
“Vendala come on we know you like him!” yelled Brianna. Jack looked at me and raised and eyebrow And I blushed with the most obvious “I do” grin on my face.
We didn’t even notice them outside with us.
“Oh and Jack we know that you like her.” It was his turn-to-turn red.
“So just kiss already!” Yelled Abbie, Ali, Emma and Erin together!
“Guys..I will explain this one more time.” I said, “Me and Jack do not like each other! So give it up!”
“Then why are you both blushing?” Bree smirked.
“How would you like it if your friends are saying you and a guy like each other when you don’t?” I asked.
“Actually Ven” I hear Jack say. Everyone one leans in to hear and see better
“Y-y-yea Jack?” I ask.
“They are right. I do like you.” He said looking into my eyes blushing. While I probably look dumb with my eyes bugging out and jaw dropped. I was speechless! The guy I just met likes me! I mean yea I liked him to, but seriously I was amazed the guy I like likes me to!
“AWW!!” everyone coos at us. Then I hear a mixture of words like “KISS HER” and “VEN SAY YOU LIKE HIM TOO!” and “PICTURE PERFECT COUPLE!” Then everyone gets silent for my reply and it doesn’t come.
“I-I-it’s ok if you don’t like me back. I would never expect a girl like you to like a guy like me.” He slowly breaks off, sticks his hands in his pockets and walk away with his head hanging.
“Oh my god Ven! Why did you do that? He thinks you don’t like him!” Erin yelled at me when Jack was out of sight. I shake my head and it all comes back to me what happened.
“Where did he go?” I asked.
“We don’t know!!!” Said Emma. The sun was rising! It’d b pretty if that event didn’t happen.
“Come on lets find him!” exclaimed Alli. Yanking our wrists.
We all run down the street to the park and fields when we find jack standing at the top of a hill.
“JACK!! JACK!” We all scream and run toward him. He looks at us surprised.
I didn’t notice everyone one stopped running and I kept going and ran into his arms. I literally ran into him and knocked him down. We were rolling down the hill.
“OW!” we say as we reach the bottom of the hill as my friends walk down smiling. He stands up and holds his hand out to me and helps me up.
When I stand up I hug him.
“AWWWW!!! You guys don’t know how cute this is!!” exclaimed Bree
“They will soon!” Emma says taking out a camera and snapping a picture.
“Ooo nice one Emma!” Says Erin.
“Let me see!” Yells Alli
“Me too! Says Abbie.
Me and Jack laugh and I look him in the eyes and we instantly stop laughing.
“Did you wanna tell me something Ven?” Jack asks his voice very serious.
“Yes I do Jack.” I say, as the sun gets right above the trees.
“Well…what is it?” He was still red…and his eye brows were raised
Everyone moves in a little closer and I see Emma holding up her camera.
I just smile and say, “I like you too!”
“For real?” He asks wide-eyed
“For real!!” I reply.
He coughs slightly.” Well then I guess you wont mind if I do this.” I look at him in the eyes and I smile. Jack smiles back and moves down and kisses me…on the lips! I kiss back and Jack puts his right hand on my cheek and I smile into the kiss and I feel him smile back.
“YES!! FINALLY! I hear someone yell. There are cheers and everything going on from my friends!
We slowly pull away about 2 minutes later or so. But it felt like forever and I smile and say “ I think you’re a great guesser Jack. I didn’t mind that at all!”
“So I guess this means you’ll be my girlfriend right Ven?” He asks
“YES!” I exclaimed hugging him with my arms round his neck. Kissing him on the cheek.
Of course Emma is taking pictures left and right of my friends cheering and me and Jack. We didn’t care! We were just happy, and everyone else had a boyfriend and now I finally had mine!
Epilog
. Jack is now enrolled in the high school next door to our school. Erin and Brianna are always fighting even after all that happened that night. Abbie, Alli, and Emma are always all smiles when they see Jack and I together. They think we make the perfect and cutest couple in the school. I don’t blame them. Yes Jack and I are still going strong and we even found him a place to live. I even got him to join karate with us! It has been a fun time. Even though Bree and Erin cant stand each other they’ve tried to get along and we all appreciate their efforts.
