"What are you talking about Sam?" I stressed the words to let him know I was slightly annoyed now.
He rocked on his heels for a second and moved closer so no one else could hear.
"So you don't remember anything?" He asked once more, his hot breath tickled my nose and I scrunched it in annoyance.
This time I didn't hold my anger in, "Listen, I don't know what the hell you're going on about, either tell me or go away." I said stubbornly, my tube left in 25 minutes and I had to be on it regardless of getting what I need off Sam or not!
"Didn't I say I was going to help you?" He reminded me.
"Are you going to get to the actual point soon?" I rolled my eyes.
"You, Maddy let me inside your house 2 nights ago." He started.
My heart stopped. Once it stopped my body froze and then my heart rocketed off every muscle and organ inside my body and then took its natural place and began pounding against my ear. Did I hear correctly? Did he just say I let him in my house 2 nights ago?
"That's - What-" I was lost for words, I began to wreck my brains trying to remember.
"You're lying. Your obviously lying, I didn't. You're confused." I finished refraining from hitting him right now.
"Oh am I? Tell me Mads, what were you doing 2 nights ago then if I wasn't at your house?" He asked folding his arms and shrugging his usual hood off his head to ruffle about with his messy brown hair. His blue eyes pierced mine as I stood there frozen, trying to remember. Josh's party. But was Josh's party 2 nights ago? I couldn't remember, come to think of it, I couldn't remember anything happening these past few days.
"What, what exactly? What -" I was finding it hard to get my words out and the thought of not being able to remember what happened, what I did and what he did was pouring dread through me!
"It was 9pm, your dad was still at work, I saw you outside stumbling to your house you were obviously stoned or drunk or something. I helped you in and asked for some water, whilst I was in; it was all I needed to do what I had to." He paused.
My eyes widened in disgust, "What the hell did you do?" I asked through gritted teeth, part of me afraid of the answer and the other part was toughening up just in case I needed to hit him in a few seconds.
"I helped you into your bed - " He paused again and fear and panic rushed through me.
Sam might have been dodgy and sneaky but I never thought he would ever stoop so low. I didn't understand what assumptions my mind was telling me or whether they were true or not, my stomach churned with fear and anger.
"And then I asked you where you kept it all."
This time a new kind of anger raced through me. It was him!
"You were tired but you clumsily pointed to the draw where the stash was kept. I took it all." He finished.
I turned my back in anger, I hated it when I was angry I just wanted to cry and I didn't want him to think these my tears of sorrow because they were tears of anger nevertheless I held them in and clenched my fists.
"Oh there's more." He mumbled walking around to face me once more.
"Who puts their pin number in their purse along with their bank card?" He laughed a little.
"But hey, you helped me out on that one; I restored your money and cashed in all that cash from under your bed too." He breathed.
"You - you - how could you!" I shook with rage but my brain was still trying to decipher everything he had just said.
"You came into my house!"
"You let me in." He replied.
"You stole my card!"
"I borrowed it and then returned it safely having done you a favour."
"I hate you!" I hissed not understanding why he would do this!
I had known Sam as the dodgy dealer, surely if he had found that money he would keep it not cash it in for me!
"You should just keep your rotten nose out of it!" I screamed now catching the attention of an old lady walking by with her small dog.
"You know what?" He glared at me.
"My mother left my father when I was 5. My father was a lousy alcoholic, we lived in a beat up old house and occasionally he liked to break my bones for fun. That was wrong so I had to get away from it, and I did, but where did I think I found the answer? Drugs. Now I've realised how wrong drugs are, I have to get away from them. And I am. I changed for the worse and now I'm working on changing for the better. You should too before it's too late and you're nothing but bones." He snarled.
My expression remained blank at his words, nothing he said affected me in any way, and I just didn't care what he thought so I scoffed.
"I go into a rehab clinic today; I'm going to get better because I'm willing to put in the time and effort." He retorted but I didn't want to listen anymore.
I stomped off into a random direction hoping he would not follow, hoping no one had heard or seen, hoping I would have the energy to hit him if things got worse. I tried not to let this little glitch get in my way and eat at me, it was okay, I was still on track, and I didn't need Sam.
I walked through the centre passing working men and women who hurried by in a rush knocking into each other and not caring.
I approached the station fast and the rush of bodies moving in every direction hit me quick, I stood to the side trying to work out the easiest route to the ticket office.
London tube stations were always busy, that was the one thing I hated about London, it was always busy and teeming with tourists with cameras and sandals.
"Hello, can I have a return to Glasgow -" I didn't even have to finish my sentence and the man had already looked away rudely. I stood there staring at him as the little machine next to him began making a low humming noise, and before I knew it the tickets were slammed into my hand and he was demanding for money.
"Thanks bye." I said hurriedly as a huge queue was already forming behind me.
Sheesh, why did things have to be insanely expensive now days?
I walked towards the side once more trying to read the platform number off my ticket and the time, reading it I gasped a little, the train was already here! I rushed to my platform and saw the train waiting, well at least it always waited 10 minutes before leaving, I hurried towards it when I heard my name being called.
I stopped dead and turned in anger, this time I was not going to abstain from using a rude hand gesture.
"You can't hide from it!"
"Who's hiding?" I snarled.
"So what? You're going to hop on that train and run away from it all? You can't run away from this!" He walked forwards.
I rolled my eyes. "Just watch me." I hissed through gritted teeth before hopping onto the train without a glance back.
What was it with these people?
Why did they find the need to control me?
Why did they want to tell me how to live my life?
Why couldn't they just leave me alone?
I wormed my way through the mass of people who were putting their luggage into the racks and looked for somewhere quiet and deserted, I was going to be staying for the longest journey so I should get a comfy seat!
After walking past full compartment after compartment, I finally found an empty one right at the back of the train. I plonked myself on the seat near a window and put my bag onto the table in front of me. I heard the last call for my train ring through the station and then my compartment door slid open.
In walked in a boy and a girl holding two small suitcases, they looked barely 20 and the sat on the other side of the compartment - good that, this way I get this side all to myself.
My phone began buzzing slightly and I looked down at the caller I.D what the hell?
"Hello?"
"Are you on your train?" My dad's voice asked firmly.
"Y-yeah."
"Good. Well have a nice time." He finished.
This was awkward. How on earth did he find the time to actually call me?
I paused hearing a woman in the background,
"Now, now Daniel, you know the rules, put that away, the meeting's about to start." I heard a woman say sophisticatedly.
I held my breath for a second.
"Listen I have to go, but remember " He began.
"Bye." I interrupted.
"Remember, to call me if she does anything!" He quickly added but I angrily snapped my phone shut and slammed it down on the table as the train started moving.
"Oh temper." I heard a deep voice from opposite me, my eyes shifted to lock onto a boys face. He was pale and had the most striking grey eyes; his light blonde hair fell into his eyes slightly.
I hadn't noticed him sit down, he sat opposite me with his feet up and his arms folded casually.
I ignored his comment and began looking out of the window, as we came out of the station sudden flashes of trees, fields and houses blurred past, I tried to relax thinking I was going to be in a change of scenery, a change of air, a change of people within a few hours.
"Pathetic isn't it? Young love. Who needs it?" I heard him say again, I turned my head around to see the boy standing next to the couple who had their mouths locked on each other's. My eyes narrowed in confusion, I didn't hear him move, and in fact I would have noticed any movement so why hadn't I?
I glanced back at the boy expecting an answer.
His eyes glistened and his mouth curled into a small smile.
I looked away quickly and focused my attention back out of the window, this was stupid, and no way could I be imagining this imagining him!
I wasn't mentally ill. This had to be real, he had to be real, I watched from the corner of my eye as he moved swiftly and sat opposite me again, my phone began buzzing on the table again, I reluctantly picked it up trying not to glance at the strange boy.
"Hello?" I asked trying to sound casual; I had not recognised the caller I.D
"Hey - Maddy." I heard Lilly's voice.
"Lilly." I spoke.
"Naema told me, so how long are you away for?"
Oh, good to know I'm your topic of discussion once again!
"Long enough." I replied.
"Oh well, hey my final piece is being put into the art gallery in central!" She told me excitedly.
"That's great."
"Now everyone's going to see us all on the beach!" She laughed.
"Even better."
"So, we are okay aren't we? I mean your still talking to us?" She asked nervously.
I closed my eyes and remembered what they had done. They had snitched. They had told my father! The result was Declan's mother interfering, me having to scoff down custard creams and then Declan questioning me after his mother told him what happened!
"What choice do I have?" I began harshly.
"You won't stop bothering and making things worse for me will you?" I snapped the phone shut again.
"Friends. Who needs em?" I heard the boy say again.
Oh boy. This was going to be a long journey.
"I am real you know - not imaginary." He sounded amused, I glimpsed up at him, a crease appearing in my forehead, what did he mean by that?
What were the odds that I was going to get stuck with an annoying passenger!
"That's a pretty dress, going anywhere nice?" He smiled, leaping gracefully across to sit right besides me; I jumped at his sudden fast movement.
I sighed deeply and looked up at him,
"I'm going to Glasgow to visit my mom." I told him.
"Me too." He replied his grey eyes sparkling.
Was I going insane?

"No."
"I am."
"That's great."
"Want to know why?"
"No really. But I'm sure your going to tell me anyway?" I retorted.
I watched as he settled opposite me again and got comfortable.
I groaned - great there was a tale to be told and I would have to hear it.
