'WHAT?!' Cher thinks as she looks upon a horrible site. The 3 floor brick building that laid in front of her was missing half of it's side. On the outside, Cher looked calm and composed, but inside their was much turmoil. She had an apartment in this building. "So? What happened exactly?" she asked a nearby worker who was cleaning up some of the rubble. It takes the worker a minute to realize that she was talking to him. "Eh? Oh! Some kids tryd' and light a minuter bonfire in some trash can. You can prolly' tell what happened after that. Heh, kids these day. What idiots." the man comments before turning around to get back to work. 'No shit,' Cher thinks angrily as she glares towards the crumbling apartment building. 'Where am I going to stay now?'
"Oi! Is that you, Cher?" a voice cries out behind the frizzy-haired girl. Cher glances around to find a smiling Lucy advancing upon her. "Oh, ohayou (Hello) Lucy-san! How's Macau?" Cher greets. "He's good! So where did you disappear to when we wer-Whoa! What happened here?" the curvaceous girl asks as she notices the state of the building they were standing by. "It burned down," Cher answers dismally, looking toward her feet. "Well, that sucks! Glad it isn't any of our apartments!" Lucy chirps with a broad smile. Cher stays silent as a dark cloud wafts itself above her head. "W-Wait! You mean...this was your apartment?!" Lucy gasps in realization. Cher nods her head. "I'm so sorry!" she gushes before encapturing Cher in a bone crushing hug. "U-Um...i-it's f-fine," Cher stutters, unuse to this kind of attention.
"So do you know where you are going to stay?" Lucy questions, finally releasing Cher from her hug. Cher shakes her head. "Hmmm......Wait a minute! You can stay with me! I just got this new apartment near the shopping center! I believe it has an extra room!" Lucy offers, pounding her fist into her other hand at the brilliant idea. "You believe?" Cher asks, confused at why Lucy didn't know how many rooms she had. "I just got it after we got back! I was just heading over to go check it out!" Lucy says. "I see, so how much is rent? I can help pay for rent until I find a new apartment." Cher asks with a small smile. "That sounds good. It's 70,000 jewels a month," Lucy answers. "All right. I will pay 40,000 jewels per month," Cher states. "Why 40,00? That's more then half," Lucy says, noticing the flaw in the math. "For water bills and other bills like that," Cher replies.
"Don't worry about that! You're my friend and it will be nice to have a roommate!" Lucy cheers as she pats Cher on the back. "F-Friend?" Cher questions nervously. "Yeah, of course your my friend! Plus, you saved me from paying all of those 70,000 jewels!" Lucy chuckles. "Really?" Cher tries once more, reffering to Lucy being her friend. "Hai! Now do you have any stuff other then the ones that were burned up?" Lucy asks. "No..." "Well, I guess we will both have to do some shopping. Good thing that shopping center is near by! Do you have any money?" Lucy says. "Yeah, I keep all of my money and valuables at the Magnolia Bank." Cher says with a small smile. "Well! Let's go!" Lucy cheers as the two begin to walk down the cobble stone road.
With the help of Lucy's excitement, Cher and Lucy make quick progress to the bank. "Wow! This bank looks so nice! Maybe I should start an account here," Lucy comments as Cher walks up to one of the many counters and waits. The man behind the counter fails to notices the frizzy-haired girl. "Ahem?" Cher coughs, trying to get the man's attention. "Hmm? Oh! Welcome to Magnoli Bank. Would you like to deposit, exchange, or withdraw?" the man says in a sickly sweet attitude. "I'd like to withdraw, please," Cher states as she crosses her arms over her chest. "Name please?" he asks, his mustache bristling. "Cher Barton," The man quickly types the information into the mana powered computer. His eyes widen slightly as he looks over the screen. "How much would you like to withdraw? You have a total of 640 million jewels." the man says, his voice becoming slightly higher when he read Cher's total number.
"WHAT?! YOU HAVE THAT MANY JEWELS!?!" Lucy shouts in confusion. Why would Cher stay with her when she could practically buy a huge mansion. "I don't like to spend. I'll have 100,000 Jewels," Cher says absentmindedly. Cher and Lucy (after some more questions) manage to make their way out the doors of the bank and into the plaza. "So, do you want to check out the apartment first, or go shopping?" Lucy asks, placing her hands onto her hips. "It's better if we see how large the rooms are. We don't want to over buy." Cher states rationally. "That's a good idea!" Lucy adds as they both walk off towards their new apartment. As they continued down the road, Cher notices that they were now walking along the river. "So is your apartment next to the river?" Cher decides to ask after a while. "Yep! That's another reason why I chose it!" Cher nods at Lucy's answer before turning her head to look out onto the glittering river. "We're here!" Lucy shouts suddenly, pulling Cher away from her distant dreamland.
"This is my room!" Lucy calls out as she opens a maple wood door to reveal another large white room. Noticing another door on her right, Cher decided to check out her new room. After opening it, Cher looks around to find that this room along with the others were painted white. "Then I guess this is my room!" Cher calls out, letting Lucy know that this was her room. Although her room was shaped differently, Lucy's and her room looked about the same size. As Cher turns around to head out the door again, she notices a tiny wooden door off to her right. 'What's this?' she thinks as she bends down to get a better look. "Ready to go shopping?!" Lucy calls from the other room. "Yes," Cher calls back. 'I will have to investigate later...' she thinks before getting up and walking out the door.
As Cher walks out her her room, she notes that Lucy has a broad smile upon her face. "Ready?" she asks before grabbing her purse of the floor. "Yes," Cher replies. "Good! We've got a lot of shopping to do!" Lucy chuckles. "Just what I'm looking forward to..." Cher mumbles sarcastically under her breath. "What was that?" Lucy questions, not catching what Cher said. "Nothing!" Cher answers too quickly, raising her hands in defense. Lucy looks at the girl in confusion before shaking her head. The two girls walk of the apartment and outside in silence, many thoughts running through each. As they walk along the river bank, Cher notices Lucy looking at every once in a while. "What?" Cher finally questions, confused at Lucy's actions. "Do you always wear those sort of clothes?" Lucy says, pausing before the word 'clothes'. "Yes, why?" Cher asks as they pass by a large stone fountain. "Well, there so...baggy." Lucy points out. "I know. These clothes are easy to move in and comfy." Cher says with a small smile but earns a scrutinizing look from Lucy.
"What?" Cher asks again. "I'll help with buying clothes," Lucy states as they reach the shopping center. "W-What?" Cher stutters. "Just follow me!" Lucy says, grinning from ear to ear. "All right..." Cher says uncertainly as Lucy leads her into a store named 'Heart Kreuz'. "OMG! THIS SO KAWAII!" Lucy squeals at once before dashing over to a clothes stand on their right. 'I wonder if she will notice...' Cher tponders as she begins to inch her way toward the door. "No you don't!" 'Shit!' Cher thinks as Lucy grabs her arm and hauls her over to another clothes stand. "I want you try on everything I give you, ok?" Lucy states as she picks up a quite revealing shirt from a rack. "Um...d-do I have to?" Cher stutters. "Hai!" Lucy says sternly before handing Cher the revealing shirt. "Do I have to try this on?" Cher tries again, looking over the shirt in great distaste. Lucy answers with another stern look. "Fine," Cher sighs.
"Yay! Now I want you to try all of these on!!" Lucy cheers before throwing a pile of clothes into Cher's hands. "The changing rooms are over there and I want to see every one on you!" Lucy commands before ushering Cher over in the right direction. "Ugh," Cher mumbles underneath her breath as she stalks over to the rooms. "Why is Lucy doing this to me and I actually thought she was a nice girl..." Cher says while opening the door to a vacant room and entering it. After setting the pile of rags clothes on a chair in the corner, Cher takes the time to study each one of them. After debating for some time, she finally picks out a set of clothes that actually aren't that revealing. "Better get this done with," Cher mutters as she slides her sweat shirt off. "Are you done?" Lucy asks from the other side of the door. "Almost," Cher answers as she slide on a green halter top and a pair of skinny blue jeans. "Are you-" "Yes I'm ready!" Cher interrupts as she opens the door.
"About tim-" Lucy begins before cutting short. "Do I look bad?" Cher asks, pulling on the corner of the shirt nervously. "OH MY GOSH! NOO! YOU'RE HOT!" Lucy exclaims, throwing her arms into the air to only add to her point. "You're l-lying." Cher stutters as her face turns beet red. "No I'm not!" "Yeah you are. Lots of people think I'm fat and ugly." Cher retorts sadly. "Who said you were?" Lucy asks, her voice calmer due to her concern. "Some girls at the park, the guy at the grocery story, the balkan, the-" Cher begins before being interrupted by Lucy. "THE BALKAN?! Yeah right! When Macau was the Balkan he hardly had a brain-" Cher raises her hand as if getting ready to dispute but Lucy doesn't let her. "And those girls at the park, did they see you in anything else other then these baggy clothes?" Cher shakes her head.
"See? You do have some frizzy hair but it's no big deal! We can fix that up! Actually...that's a good idea. In the mood for a hair cut?" Lucy questions. "No-" "Good! I'm going to walk over to the hair cuttery across the street and schedule an appointment for you. While I'm there, you can try this on!" Lucy states before handing a very complicated looking dress to Cher. "A-Alright," Cher stutters. "Ok! I will be back in a minute!" Lucy chirps before running out the door. Cher looks down onto the dress in distress as she takes it into the changing room. 'How am I supposed to wear this?!' Cher thinks as she looks over the many pieces of fabric and straps. "Here goes nothing!" Cher mumbles as she sticks her foot into a random hole.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------Cher and Lucy make quick progress with the rest of the clothes. Turns out that Lucy thinks Cher looks good in every one of them. They then head to the cash register to pay. "That will be 13,576 jewels," the woman says after ringing up the mountain of clothes. Before Cher can reach into her pocket to grab some money, Lucy plops a wad of cash onto the counter. "Lucy! You don't have to! These are going to be my clothes!" Cher says in shock as she watches the cashier count the money. "It's no big deal. I am sort of forcing this on you and this is the best way to make you wear the clothes!" Lucy chatters. "What do you mean?" Cher asks. "I may have only known you for about a day, but I already know that if I buy these for you, you won't have the heart to not wear them." Lucy continues. 'Damn. She's got me,' Cher thinks. "And too make you happier, I will make a deal!" This instantly catches Cher's attention. She turns her head to get a better view of Lucy.
"You don't have to wear all the...what you say...'revealing' clothes immediately. You can pick out a few that aren't revealing and wear them for a while. Then the next week, you can add another set of clothing. You can continue that pattern until you're wearing all of them. You can work your way into them. You get what I'm saying?" Lucy asks. Cher nods her head. "So are you fine with that?" Lucy asks again. "Yes, that sounds fair," Cher answers in cheerful tone. "Thank you for shopping at Heart Creuz!" the cashier says as she hands the clothed filled bags to Lucy and Cher. Cher and Lucy take the bags with little 'thank yous' and then head out the door. "So, let's head over to the hair cuttery! I know the perfect haircut for you!" Lucy chirps before dragging Cher out the door.

"You need to sign here before-" the man begins before stopping short. "Yes?" Cher asks, signaling for him to continue. The man stares at her for a minute longer before shaking his head as if dismissing thoughts. "Ger...you n-need to sign this b-before you can r-receive any of your things," the man stutters as he shoves a clip board with a piece of paper to Cher. Cher quickly takes the clip board and signs the piece of paper. She then hands it back to the man. "Ok, we will be up with your stuff in a minute," the man says, looking at the piece of paper Cher signed carefully. "Ok!" Cher says happily as she watches the man walk back down the stairs. Not a minute later, she could see a couple of men hauling up a large desk. "Where do you want this mam'?" one of the men asked. "Over there in the corner." Cher answers with a smile.
Letting the men to do their job, Cher walks into her room to organize her new clothes. "MAN! This is friggin' awesome! Don't you think Happy?!" a loud voice echoes from the living room. 'Natsu? Happy?' Cher thinks in confusion. "Where do you want us to set you down?" Cher hears one of the workers ask. "OOH! BY THE FIREPLACE!" the same loud voice says. 'That's definitely Natsu...' Cher thinks with a sweat drop as she looks into the living room in time to see the workers set down Natsu (who was sitting on a giant sofa chair). "Natsu, what are you doing here?" Cher questions as she walks over to the rambunctious, rose-haired boy. "Hmm? Who are you?" he replies casually. Chers drops her head in disappointment at the boy's statement. 'I guess he doesn't remember me...' she thinks sadly.
"AYE! You're that girl who helped us rescue Macau!" a blue furred cat says from beside you. "You're name is Cherry...no, Cherie..no, Clair...Carry-" he begins but Cher cuts the cat off in order to help it out. "Cher." "AYE! Cher! You helped us!" Happy exclaims, raising a paw into the air. "Cher? You mean that frizzy haired girl? Na! You can't be! She was ugly!" Natsu laughs in between bites of chips. 'Oh gosh...he thought I was ugly,' Cher thinks dismally. "We're done Miss Barton! It was a pleasure to work with you!" the man you first met says. "Oh! Well, it's was nice working with you!(-even though I didn't)" Cher comments, shaking the mans hand. The man nods enthusiastically before walking out the door with the rest of the men.
"Now what are you-" Cher begins to ask once more before Lucy comes bustling into the room with only a towel on. "But most importantly!-" she begins to say with a dazzled expression. As she turns around with a spin, she spots Natsu lounging on the sofa chair with a bag full of chips. "MY ROOM!!" she finishes randomly, a shocked expression apparent on her face. "Yo!" Natsu comments offhandedly, raising his hand in the air as a salutation. Happy, sitting on the coffee table in front of him, does the same. "W-W-WHY ARE YOU HERE!!?!?!" Lucy screams as she slams her foot into Natsu face. "Cause Mira told me you got a new place..." Natsu begins as he rubs the side of his face. "SHE TOLD YOU?! SO WHAT?! DOES THAT MEAN YOU CAN JUST COME IN LIKE THAT?!! AND WHY DIDN'T YOU DO ANYTHING, CHER?!" Lucy seethes. "I was just about too," Cher answers smoothly while Natsu mumbles something about you really being Cher.
"DON'T YOU KNOW THE PHRASE 'A HEDGE BETWEEN KEEPS FRIENDSHIP GREEN'?!?! WHAT YOU DID IS TRESPASSING!! A CRIME!! YOU'RE LACKING MORALS!!" Lucy scolds while pointing a dangerous finger at Natsu. "Hey...that hurts my feeling..." he manages to grumble in between her shouts. As Lucy continues to scold Natsu, Cher watches Happy wall over to a wall in mild interest. That was until Happy stated to sharpen his claws. "I'M THE ONE BEING VIOLATED!!!" Lucy finishes. "It's a nice room!" Happy comments, catching Lucy's attention. "DON'T SHARPEN YOUR NAILS!!! YOU FELINE!!!" she screams before dragging the cat away from the ruined wall. 'I guess I will have to repaint that,' Cher thinks absentmindedly.
"Hmm? What this?" Natsu asks as he lifts up a pile of papers that have fallen out of a nearby bag. Lucy's face turns into one of horror as she realizes what Natsu was exactly holding. "NOOOOOOO!!!!" Lucy screams as she swipes the papers away from Natsu. "What is it? It's making me curious..." Natsu says while staring at the stack of paper in Lucy's hand. "WHO CARES WHAT IT IS?! -I MEAN JUST GO HOME ALREADY!!" Lucy immediately retorts while raising a threatening fist. "Don't want to. I came her to visit you and Cher!" Natsu replies with a smile. "YOU'RE SO SELFISH!!" Lucy cries. "How about we all calm down. I can make some tea." Cher comments, tired of all the yelling. "Tea? That sounds good," Lucy sighs. 10 minutes later, Cher, Lucy, and Natsu were all seated around the small kitchen table drinking tea. "I just moved here. You have nothing to play with, so please go home after this cup of tea." Lucy grumbles at Natsu. "You're so nice, Lucy," Cher comments sarcastically. Cher was on a roll with all of this sarcasm.
"You're so cruel," Natsu adds. "Aye!" Happy agrees. "How can I be cruel when I asked you to go home after a cup of tea?!?" Luct questions in confusion. Those two were just so weird. "Ah! Oh yeah! Show me all of the key guys you've got!" Natsu commands while pointing to the keys that were hanging from Lucy's side. 'I forgot she was a stellar spirit mage...' Cher thinks before turning her head to pay attention. "NO!! It'll consume a lot of my magic power!! And they're not key guys! They're Stellar Spirits!" Lucy states. "How many units do you have?" Cher asks while resting her chin in her hand. "6 units. We count stellar spirits in units." Lucy says, already answering the for coming question of Natsu. Lucy places all of her keys onto the table before separating them into two different piles, one gold and one silver.
"These silver keys are the ones you can buy at stores; Horologium, the clock. Crux, the southern cross. Lyra, the lyre." Lucy says while pointing at the 3 silver keys. Cher studies the keys intently, memorizing the keys' patterns. "These gold keys are very rare ones that open the gates of the Ecliptic Zodiac; Taurus, the bull. Aquarius, the water bearer. Cancer, the crab." Lucy adds, this time pointing to the golden keys. "THE CRAB!!!" Natsu and Happy instantly exclaim in excitement. "Those two get excited over anything," Cher comments. Lucy catches her comment and nods her head in agreement. A moment later, Lucy's head snaps up as she realizes something. "Now that I remember, I haven't made a contract with Nicola, the Canis Manor, that I bought in Harujion." Lucy says. "OOOH!!" Natsu shouts, grinning ear to ear. "Perfect timing! I'll show you how Stellar Spirit Mages and Stellar Spirits make a contract. 'This should be interesting. I haven't seen some one make a contract in a while,' Cher thinks while getting up to watch Lucy. "Does it involve blood seal?" Happy asks. "Butt seals? That sounds painful..." Natsu comments while rubbing his bottom.
'These two are just too weird...' Cher thinks again as Lucy mutter something along the line of 'why the sudden talk about butts'. "We don't need blood seals or anything. Just watch. " Lucy answers as she draws the Nicola key. She then places her left hand over her cheat and the hand holding the key up in front of her. "I am the person who connects the road to the stellar spirit road. Thou shalt respond to the calling and pass through the gate," Lucy chants. A moment later a key hole appears out of thin air before dissipating as quick as it came. "Open a door to the Canis Minor! Nicola!" Lucy finishes with a shout. Cher gasps as the air in front of Lucy shoots up with a loud bang. Not a moment later, the sound of a 'puff' echoes through out the air. As the dust clears, Cher is able to make out a tiny form on the wooden floor. 'Is that?' she thinks before her thoughts are interrupted by a high squeaky sound. "PUUN!" On the ground now stood a white colored creature with a drill looking nose. It only stood about a foot off the ground.
"It's rather plain, isn't it?" Natsu mutters offhandedly. "Aye," Happy answers, both still in shock. "Tuesdays?" The drill-nosed creature nods. "Thursdays?" The creature nods its head once more. "I can call on Thursdays too?" Lucy asks again. "PunPuuun!" "Okay! Contract done!!" Lucy finishes happily. "PuPuuun!!!" the Nicola squeaks. "It's really easy..." Natsu states. "While it does look easy, it's really important. Steallar Spirit Mages regard contracts, meaning promises, with utmost importance. That's why I will never ever break promises," Lucy states as she gets up from the floor. 'A weakness,' Cher instantly notices. "I see..." Natsu mumbles while crossing his arms over his chest.
"So are you going to name it?" cher asks after a moment of silence. "Oh yeah! I do need to name him!" Lucy says. 'Are even sure it is a 'him'?' Cher thinks absentmindedly before turning her attention back to the conversation. "Isn't it Nicola?" Happy questions. "That is its generic term," Lucy answer, looking over to the small creature. She raises her hand to her chin as she begins to think. not a second later, she slams her fist into her other hand as she comes up with the perfect name. "Come , PLUE!" she calls, bending down enough to let it jump into her hands. "Plue?" Natsu asks while tilting his head to the side. "Doesn't it sound cute? Right, Plue?" Lucy asks as she hugs it. "Puun!" Plue answers cheerfully.
"Plue is the Canis Minor, but he doesn't go woof woof! It's weird," Happy says, reffering to the fact that Canis Minor was 1 of the 2 hunting dogs of Orion. "You don't exactly go meow meow either," Cher mutters, which earns a chuckle from Lucy. "Pun!" Plue squeals as it jumps out of Lucy's arm. Right as it lands on the ground, it turns around and begins to make strange movements with its arms. "What is it?" Lucy says uncertainly as Plue continues it's weird movements. "PLUE! THAT'S A GREAT IDEA!!!" Natsu barks before getting down on all fours to get a better look at Plue. "HE UNDERSTOOD IT?!" Lucy cries out in shock. "It's not surprising. Since he grew up with a dragon, he might be able to understand animals' movements better," Cher observes. "Stellar Spirit huh..." Natsu mumbles randomly before continuing. "True, the bull did help me on the snow mountain." "That's right! You should have more respect for the Steallar Spirits!" Lucy pipes in. "I didn't think Lucy would be coming with us that time. But in the end, if Lucy hadn't been there, we would've been in danger," Natsu says, mainly talking to himself. "Now that I think about it, you're a weirdo along with Cher but also a reliable, good person." Natsu adds.
'He called me a weirdo,' Lucy and Cher think simultaneously, heads both down in sadness. "Hmm..." Natsu humms while looking out of a nearby window. "W-What is it?" Lucy whispers under her breath. "Natsu, what happened?" Happy finally asks. "Okay! I've made up my mind! I agree with Plue's idea!" Natsu states while standing up straight. 'Idea?' cher thinks, quirking an eyebrow at the boy's statement. "LET'S MAKE A TEAM!" Natsu finishes with a broad smile. "Team?" Lucy asks. "Aye! All the members of the guild are nakama, but we make team with whoever we get along with!" Happy says, answering Lucy. "If you're in a team, difficult requests will be easier," Cher adds. "That's a good idea! Sounds like fun!" Lucy squeals in happiness. "ALL RIGHT!! IT'S DECIDED!!" Natsu shouts as he pumps his fists into the air. "The contract has been sealed," Lucy chuckles while clasping her hands together. "Aye!" Happy adds. "Puuun!" Plue finishes.
As Cher watches the little charade, thoughts stream through out the back of her bind. 'Are they including me? No...Natsu was probably just talking about Lucy,' she thinks sadly. "Let's get to work then!! Here, I've already decided!!" Natsu declares while slamming a piece of paper onto the kitchen table. "That fast?" Cher questions from the side, suspicion in her tone. "My, you're thinking way to fast!" Lucy comments, not looking at Natsu's actions clearly. With one more smile, Lucy takes the paper Natsu slammed on the table and begins to read the details of the request. "Shirotsume town, huh...that's close," Lucy begins with a smile before continuing. "Whoa! We just need to get a book from the mansion of some called the Duke of Evaroo...AND GET 200,000 JEWELS!?!" "Right, isn't it an easy job?" Natsu adresses. "It seems too easy. There must be a catch," Cher advises. As Lucy's eyes scan the rest of the information, Cher notices her face drain of all color. Cher walks behind Lucy to get a better look at the request. Her eyes narrow as she notices an important notice at the bottom.
"I DON'T WANT TO BE A MAID!" Lucy retorts. "Let's rehearse. Now call Happy 'Master'," Natsu commands. "DEFINITELY NOT A CAT!!" Lucy shouts. "I-I think I'm going to go now. I have to go get something f-from Fairy Tail," Cher stutters as she inches towards the front door. This statement instantly catches Natsu's attention. "What? Why are you going?! You're part of the team!" Natsu asks in confusion. "I-I'm apart of the t-team? I thought you meant just Lucy, you, and Happy?" Cher mumbles. "NAA! You helped us out alot on snow mountain! You could definitely help us out in the future!" Natsu states with a grin. Cher nods her head as a smile spreads upon her face. "Now let's goooo!!"
This is what Cher looks like after her hair cut! I changed her eyes because the previous eyes didn't match her personality. I wanted her to look more serious and well composed. I based this picture of of Lady Alvida from One Piece. She had the hair I wanted for Cher. I might change her lips though...
~At Fairy Tail~
On the far side of the room, a man clothed only in his pants sat smoking silently. Gray Fullbuster. "Tch. I missed a good job..." Gray mumbles before lifting his head to glance around. "It's getting...interesting," he adds while thinking of his rival, the one taking the job. A mana phone near Mirajane begins to high pitched ring, annoying some of the members with sensitive ears. Mirajane immediately runs to pick it up. "Ah! Don't worry! I just got a message from Cher! She's decided to accompany the two on the mission!" she relays to Makarov as she sets the phone back down. "Cher? Ah, then no worries. With her there to the help them, they will finish the mission in no time," Makarov sighs happily. 'Cher? Why would she go with them?' Gray thinks in confusion.
