Hello again, Stephanie here..aka everyones favorite crimefighter. I'm still in the hospital recovering, and I'm still deadset on telling my story. Because part of it may shock you. This story spans the length of two or three years. Anyway, let's start off on the night that I first became the vigilante known as...The Spoiler!
I must have stood in the rain for an hour right outside of my home, right on the roof. I had just finished putting together my costume, and I thought it was perfect. It was a shade of eggplant, and buying the fabric ate away most of my money. Sewing it ate away most of my time. But it was finally ready, and I crouched confidently on the roof of my house. I was garbed in a purple-ish suit with an awesome cloak that hung perfectly over my black mask.I wore black boots and gloves, and even had a bandolier on my leg for the storage of any equipment I may need.
But now that the costume was ready, I had begun to doubt if I was. The cold wind and rain didn't make it any easier to commit to taking the first leap. I knew that I had to though, because my father was out of jail. And he was out commiting crimes again, with Batman and Robin hot on his heels. I created the persona "the Spoiler", because I was dead set on spoiling my father crimes.
My father was a criminal "mastermind", who called himself the ClueMaster. If you've ever heard of the Riddler, well he was kind of a second rate version of that guy. for a long time, my father would leave clues behind after his crimes. He usually ended up getting caught because of this, so he eventually quit leaving the clues. That's where I would step in. I had discovered his plans and had decided that tonight..I would go out and leave clues for Batman and Robin to find.
So, I released my jumpline for the first time. For the first time I made my way from one rooftop to another, to another. I picked up speed as I went, and within no time at all I was in the heart of Gotham. i took sharp breaths as I crouched into the corners to really look at my surroundings. All that jumping, swinging and climbing had already taken a lot ouf of me. I was crouching on the ledge of some tall building, and directly to my left was some stone gargoyle jutting out of the dark cold stone.I placed my hand on it for better balance, I looked down at the rows of storefronts below, my father would be arriving soon...and I would have to spy on him and leave a clue for Batman and Robin.I jumped down suddenly, but silently and crept closer to the location where I knew he would be. It was about ten minutes until he arrived, and when he did he was really a sigh for sore eyes...in the wrong kind of way. He was meeting at some tiny storage facility with a group of other third rate villains. I listened with silent determination. It turns out that dear old daddy was getting into the drug dealing business. There was recently a large drug bust, and many of the supplies that were found were still at Gotham City Police Department for processing. As I listened I found out that my father was going to rob a jewelry store tonight, and use the loot to bribe some Gotham City police officers into giving him a nice chunk of those drugs, He would go on to sell them over at the Bowery, Gothams worst neighborhood.
As I stood, pressed against a wall, I concentrated hard on processing the information. I would have to remember every bit of information. I stopped listening accidently, and my alertness levels dropped. I was new to this whole thing after all. Suddenly, just down the street I hear the sounds of breaking glass and alarms. Crap! They were already at the jewelry store. I took a sharp breath and hurried over to the store, only to see my father and the others running out with armfuls of stolen jewels. I decided, foolishly enough, to explore the crime scene...and to leave a clue. But as I stepped through the broken and tinkling glass, I heard a loud voice behind me.
"Allright, let's do this the simple away", the voice said simply. "Hands up!", it exclaimed suddenly.
I turned on the ball of my heel, and had to take in a short gasp of breath as the vision before me became clear. There before me, was Robin, yes Robin. The Boy Wonder, in all his yellow, red and green glory. What a looker! His black hair hung messily over his head and touched the top of the black domino mask that covered his obviously blue eyes. His black cape, lined with a shiny golden yellow, flapped suddenly in the wind. I couldn't help but smile as I stepped forward. The stern look on his face was just too perfect.
"Don't move!", he ordered suddenly.
And so I didn't. I stopped in my tracks and raised my hands like he asked. "Woah, Boy Wonder!", I exclaimed with a small laugh. "You got the wrong gal! I'm on your side!"
I looked up at him eagerly, and he took a wide step forward. "We'll see..."
