"Aira wake up. I'm training my team today. Do you feel well enough to go?" Kakashi asked from the doorway. I open my eyes and sit up slowly, forgetting I only slept in a sports bra and a pair of shorts. Short shorts at that. I nodded, rubbing my sleep filled eyes and yawning. When I don't hear the door close I look up, only to see Kakashi staring at me. And not my face. I look down and notice the blanket had fallen off my chest, and my cleavage was showing. I had let out a yelp and pulled the covers up to hide myself and look up at Kakashi with wide eyes.
"I'm sorry Aira!" He yelled, slamming my door shut. I sighed, letting the blanket fall again and walked to my dresser that I had put my extra clothes in before I went to bed. I grabbed the crimson tank top and the black leather pants that the girl of Kakashi's team bought for me. I had to admit, she had nice taste. I pulled them on after a quick shower and I walked out, tying my hair up in a bun. My teeth clenched down on a pair of decorated chopsticks as I walked down the hall. I slipped the chopsticks in my hair just as I walked into the kitchen.
"Breakfast is ready Aira. Hungry?" Kakashi asked, not turning to me.
"Sorta." I took the rice ball he handed me and eat it, taking the bento box next to tuck under my arm.
"Here," He said, tossing me a pouch. "It's a weapons pouch. All ninja have them, and since your training, you may as well have them. There are kunai and shuriken in them, and even some senbon if you wanted to try them. Tie it to your leg so you can reach in it." I nodded and looked in it, moving everything around so I can see what all is in there. I smiled when I saw some bandages, knowing that I would need those later on. I tied it to my right leg so I can reach it easier and looked up at Kakashi.
"I'm ready... Kakashi," I said quietly.
"Ok. Come on then. I was suppose to be there about an hour ago anyway."
"What?! We're late?!" I asked, appalled by his calm nature about it.
"Their used to it. I'm always late," Kakashi said, smirking at me from behind his mask. I sighed, deciding not to push it further. We left the house a few moments later and I more or less just walked quietly behind him to a large clearing.
"YOU'RE LATE AGAIN!" Someone yelled. I looked around Kakashi, seeing a blonde haired boy with bright blue eyes glaring at Kakashi.
"Be quiet Naruto-baka," A raven haired boy snapped.
"What did you call me Sasuke?!" Naruto yelled, glaring at Sasuke. Before I knew it I was in the middle of the two boys, keeping them separated. I didn't even know how I got there, having moved to quickly for even me to notice. They jumped back, pulling kunai out as if to defend themselves from me.
"Why do you fight one another when you are on the same team?" I asked quietly, appalled by the two boys as I ignored Kakashi's look of confusion.
"Who are you?" Sasuke asked, his onyx eyes flashing dangerously.
"Well Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura. You all seem to have meet Aira. She will be training with us for awhile," Kakashi said, not trying to hide his tone of confusion.
"Training? What do you mean Kakashi-sensei?" A pink haired girl, whom I guessed was Sakura, asked Kakashi.
"Aira here has amnesia. If it wasn't for the memory retrieval jutsu we wouldn't even know her name," Kakashi said. "Ive been assigned to watch after her until she gets her memory back, which means she will be training with us."
"K-Konnichiwa." I mumbled.
"But that speed! How can she not know anything?!" Sasuke asked, holding his kunai up. "I don't trust her!" He yelled, running at me with the kunai out. My eyes widen and I jump out of the way instinctively, landing on his back and kicking off. I spin around to face him, landing on the ground in a crouch.
"Aira how did you know to do that?"
"I- I don't know..." I said, standing up. I turned to Kakashi. "I don't remember anything, but fighting like this seems natural to me. Like I've done it all my life..." I said quietly, my eyes wide as I turned to look back at Sasuke who was glaring at me.
Suddenly everything around me faded. It happened so fast I didnt even know what was going on.
>>In an alley two large men with masks walk slowly towards a young woman with dark raven colored hair. She danced quickly to music only she can hear, not noticing the two men coming up to her. When one of them went to grab her, she noticed their shadow and swung around quickly with a roundhouse kick, knocking the two off their feet and onto the concrete below. They stare up momentarily dazed by the force of their fall, unaware that the girl had run off. A few blocks away the girl stopped running, her breath coming in pants. When she looks up her green eyes are wild with fright and exhilaration from knocking the men out.< <
"Aira-chan! Wake up!" A feminine voice said from over me. I snapped awake upright, unaware that I was laying in Kakashis arms.
"I- I think I remembered something" I gasped quietly, holding my throbbing head. "I don't really understand it, but I was in an alley somewhere..." I explained what I saw to the group around me, my eyes closed against the bright afternoon light.
"Nodding her head to music only she can hear? That doesn't make any sense!" Naruto groaned, rubbing his head.
"I know... I was hoping it would tell me what it was, but I can't think of what it would be..." I said. I looked up at Kakashi, my eyes confused, tired. "I- I should let you get back to your team"
"YES!" Naruto cheered happily.
"Naruto, you and Sasuke pair off. Sakura, you and Aira can fight," Kakashi said. Sakura nodded, crouching as if ready to attack. I took a stance that somehow seemed right and waited for her to run at me. When she does I dodged her, appearing behind her to pin her on the ground.
"Aira wins," Kakashi said, surprised. I get off Sakura and help her up.
"I didn't hurt you did I? Im sorry" I ask quietly. She smiled up at me and shook her head.
"No I'm fine," She said, almost too happily. "You did really well. If I didn't know better, I would think you were lying about having amnesia." I smiled sadly at her and nodded.
"Honestly I wish I were lying... I want to be able to remember who I am, and where I came from. And why fighting is so natural to me." I sighed, but smile at her. "Anyway, I think the boys... Sasuke and Naruto right?" She nodded. "Yeah they're still fighting. Would you like to watch?"
"Yes! I want to watch Sasuke-kun beat Naruto!" She said. I smiled and walked towards Kakashi, standing to his right.
"Can you keep up?" Kakashi asked me after a few minutes of watching Naruto and Sasuke attack each other. To a normal person they would only be a blur, but somehow I can see them perfectly.
"Hai. They seem to be evenly matched... Never mind." I blinked as Sasuke pinned Naruto down in almost the same way I pinned Sakura down.
"Winner, Sasuke," Kakashi said.
"No fair!" Naruto yelled, spitting dirt and grass from his mouth. He jumped to his feet, pointing at Sasuke. "He tricked me!"
"Naruto you're bleeding," I said gently, walking over slowly. I bent down, taking his arm where his shirt was ripped away to reveal a deep gash. I snapped open the kunai pouch and dumped out the contents, picking up the bandages I found earlier and a canister of disinfectant cream.
"Hold still. This may sting," I said, rubbing it on. He twitched but didnt pull away, making it easier for me to wrap his arm. "There! All better." I smiled.
"Thanks Aira-chan!" Naruto said. I smile and stand, only to duck under a kunai aimed at my head. I looked over at Sasuke who was glared at me.
"Fight me," He snapped.
I blink, but nodded and looking at Kakashi. He nodded back at me and I fell into the same stance I had when I fought Sakura.
Sasuke ran at me and I dodged, but he had disappeared before I could attack. I jumped forward just as I sensed his foot coming at me from behind and I spun around, catching it in my hands. I swung around in a circle, taking him with it and throwing him a few feet away. He did a quick back flip, throwing fire at me from his mouth. I jumped out of the way and threw kunai at him, hoping not to hit him. One of them grazed his arm but he didn't even wince as he started his next attack.
Uma, tori, tatsu, tora! Flaming Tiger Claw! I heard in my head as I ran at Sasuke, a ball of fire in my hand. His eyes grew wide for a moment before dodging my punch easily. I lost my balance, but before I can fall I kick out, hitting Sasuke in the stomach hard enough to send him flying into a tree a few feet away. When he didnt get up, Kakashi called the match to me, and I rush over to Sasuke.
"Sasuke-kun! Are you alright?" Sakura gasped, her eyes wide as I bent down next to him.
"Sasuke I didnt hurt you did I?" I asked, worried.
"I'm fine Sakura. Get off me," Sasuke snapped when Sakura all but glomped him. Sasuke looked up at my extended hand and after a moment of thought, he took it and let me haul him up.
"That was fun, Sasuke. You fight well," I said quietly. He looked at me, a ghost smirk on his face, but it quickly disappeared, almost as if it wasnt there.
"You too," He said gruffly, sticking his hands in his pockets as he walked away.
"Aira can I have a word with you?" Kakashi asked. I turned to him and nodded, not hiding the look of confusion that flittered across my face. I followed him away from the team and look questioningly up into his visible eye. "How did you do that technique?"
I shook my head and shrugged. "I saw the hand signs in my head, and I heard the voice, and I did it," I said quietly, bowing my head as I start to walk off, but he grabs hold of my arms and pushes me against a tree. "Kakashi! Itai! You're hurting me!" I cried out, wincing in pain as his fingers squeezed around my upper arms.
"Aira there is something you aren't telling me. You didn't even know what chakra was twenty minutes ago, and only five minutes ago you used a jutsu and nearly killed my student!" Kakashi snapped. My eyes grew wide and I stopped struggling against his harsh grip on my shoulders.
"I wouldn't..." I started, tears brimming my eyes.
"Then why did you use that?!" Kakashi snapped. Tears well in my eyes again and I give one last heave, shoving Kakashi away from me.
"I- I didnt know it would hurt him!" I cried, my eyes wide as I stepped away from Kakashi. "I- I didnt mean to hurt him! I" Tears slipped from my eyes as I realized just how badly I could have hurt Sasuke. "I Im sorry!" I gasped as I turned and ran quickly into the forest, ignoring Kakashi as he shouted at me to come back. After what felt like hours I tripped, landing on the cold hard earth of the forest floor and lay there, crying.
"Aira I... Gomen. I didn't mean to hurt you," Kakashi said, kneeling over me. I sat up and glared at him, but my eyes soften when I see the sincerity in his eyes.
"I wouldn't kill him, Kakashi... I... I didn't even know what that was when I was using it."
"What was it?" He asked, taking my hand in his. "Your whole hand caught fire and looked like it turned into a large paw..."
"I- I think its called Flaming Tiger Claw... Why? Do you want to learn it?" I asked him, not looking at him as he turned my palm over in his hands.
"I already did when you used it," He said. I looked at him quizzically, confused as to what he was talking about. He lifted up his headband, the hitai-ate I heard him call it, to reveal a scar and a red eye with what three black commas in it. I scooted closer to get a better look as the commas swirled in his eye, amazed.
"What...?"
"It's called a Sharingan. It's normal for an Uchiha, like Sasuke to have one, but for someone like me it's impossible with the transplant I had," He explained to me. "I can copy techniques with this eye while I fight." I looked at him then, instead of his eye, just now realizing his face was only an inch from mine. I jumped back quickly, my face heating up as I looked away from him.
"W- We should be heading back now. I- I'm sure your team is w- wondering where we are..." I said quietly, playing with a leaf on the ground. I heard him stand and looked up when I saw a being held out to me. I smiled and take his offered hand and let him pull me up. He pulled me close him before I can say anything and made a sign with his hand. Before I can ask what hes doing, a cloud of smoke surrounds us and I shut my eyes quickly, breathing in the harsh smoke.
When I opened my eyes again, I realized we were back in the clearing. I stumbled away from Kakashi, coughing up the smoke that entered my lungs.
"Warn me next time you do that!" I gasped, falling to the ground. I coughed up more smoke and glared up at Kakashi who laughs at me.
"You shouldn't have inhaled."
"I didn't know what you were doing! You just grabbed a hold of me before I could say anything and teleported here! I was a little freaked out you know! Gah! This whole chakra thing is so weird!"
