Night had fell and we were crouching behind the tent, hiding. I used to love the game hide and seek, I was never ever found, well that was probably because my brother would make me go hide and then spend an hour watching tv, while he said he was finding me.
Come to think of it, I hate that game.
So here we were, we knew where Kaley was and the guard was almost dead asleep.
"Stay here. No matter what happens ok?" I said firmly to Lottie and she nodded.
"Good luck." She whispered. I smiled, then turned invisible.
I army crawled along the ground and did a roll just for the sake of it. Then I crept into the tent, many of the freaks in there were sleeping. I moved silently over to the guard and quickly and quietly grabbed the keys from his pocket.
Kaley's cage was the last one in the rows of them, it was the smallest cage there was so her wings couldn't fully stretch out. She wasn't asleep in fact she looked more dead than asleep.
I tried about twenty keys before I found the right one, the cage clunked then opened with that really annoying squeaking sound. That woke Kaley up, she looked around and I waved silently to her, but she looked past me.
Oh yeh I was invisible.
I turned opaque looking and she gasped.
"City!" She whispered loudly her voice was very hoarse and crackly.
"Sssshhhh!" I whispered back. "This is an escape attempt, hurry up and grab you things."
She tried to laugh but her voice wouldn't let her, but she crawled up to the edge of the cage and slipped out. I tried to get the chains off her wings but it was way too big.
"Where's Carl when you need him?" I muttered to myself.
"Who's Carl?"
"I'll tell you later, how can I get the chains off?" I asked,
"Erm Force field." She whispered back, I looked at her confused but then nodded.
I put a min force field inside of the lock and expanded it, the lock burst open with a very clang. Oh poo.
The guard awoke immediately, noticed us before we could hide and pressed a button. I was about to laugh as nothing happened but then a loud siren thing went off. s.hit. I grabbed Kaley's hand and ran one way but two guards appeared, we ran the other direction but three were there, we tried everyway but there was no way out.
"NO!!!" I heard a small voice scream. Lottie.
"Lottie go now!" I ordered but she charged at the guy who had a gun, he turned around and shot her, the bullet made such a force she was thrown way off him and about ten yards away from my feet.
"Any ideas?" I whispered to Kaley.
"Yeh," She said, "Grab the girl." I did as I was told, picked her up in my arms, I felt Kaley's arms wrap around me and the steady beat of her wings, we were soon hovering in the air gaining height.
"Shield." She said to me. I nodded and a large shield erupted and cocooned all of us in it's bubble, they shot bullets, but it didn't make an impact at all, in fact they just dropped to the floor. Like in the matrix, hey I was the chosen one or whatever.
With a sudden burst of speed Kaley, me and Lottie shot up through the material roof of the tent. Ah fresh air.
