I finally woke up, later that day. I wouldn't have woken though, if it wasn't for the phone ringing. I sleepily got out of bed, and went downstairs to answer it.
"Hello?" I said into the reciever, yawning.
     "Hey Sonny." Matt greeted me.
"Yeah?" I said, a little bit annoyed, for him waking me up.
"I just thought that I ought to tell you something..." Matt's voice trailed off.
"What is it? Tell me now!" I said getting quite anxious.
"Um... I don't know how to put this but... Your mum... She..."
"What? What about my Mum?" I asked.
"She...Um...She's...Oh Sonny, I really don't want to break this to you, but she's... Gone." Matt's voice started quivering.
"What? What are you talking about? Gone where?" I asked, confused.
     "She's gone."
"Matt, you're not making any sense to me at all. Where has my Mummy gone?" I was starting to get quite scared.
"She's not coming back Sonny. I'm sorry." There was a small pause.
"You've got your knickers in a knot. My mummy comes home from work every night to see me." I replied, although I could sort of sense that this was no joke.
"Sonny... You have to have realized by now. She's not going to come home from work tonight. There was a car crash and..." Matt sounded like he had begun to cry.
"No. She can't... I mean.. She's my mummy and..." I burst into tears.
"Oh Sonny. I really wish that there was something that I could do but..." Matt sounded really sympathetic about this. I was so shocked about this news that I couldn't say another word.
"Sonny? You still there?" Matt asked gently.
"Yeah. I'm still here." I whispered.
"Sonny, since that I know that you would'nt be able to live all on your own, in that house of yours, so you will be moving in with me."
"What? I'll be moving in with you? When? This is really sudden..." I acctually stated feeling a little bit dizzy.
     "Whenever you're ready." Matt replied.
"I don't know... I really want my mummy." I began to cry so much, that I had to hang up the phone.
I couldn't believe it. My own mummy, gone forever. The one person whom I really loved. I would never see her again, ever. It was just so difficult to process in my mind. I had lived with my mummy, and had been so close to her for all sixteen years of my life. She couldn't go and leave me now. I had never ever even thought that something as terrible as this would ever happen in my life. I didn't think that it was possible for mums go, and leave their children like this, as all kids need their mothers. At least I really needed mine. She was all I had, and now I had nothing.  It felt so weird, the thought of no longer having a mother.
For the next few hours, I lay on my bed thinking of nothing but my mum. I still couldn't believe it. There was a part of me, making me say it wasn't true, but I knew, deep down that it was true. The sad, sad truth.
Just then, I heard the doorbell ring. I ran downstairs to answer it, and saw Matt standing on the doorstep.
"Hi." I said, not even looking at him.
"Oh Sonny. I'm so sorry." Matt engrossed me into a great big hug. I liked the hug very much. It made a quick rush of happiness go through me for some reason. I gave hima  half-hearted smile.
"If you think that it'd be a good idea, you can come now... it could help you to, you know feel better about things. Sometimes, being with your friends can help you get on with your life, and still be happy you know."
"Yeah. I guess so. Should I bring some stuff over for the night, and we can bring the rest of my stuff over tomorrow?" I asked him.
"Sure. Just bring pajamas, clean boxers, and some clothes for the night, okay?" Matt said with a smile.
"'Kay. I'll go get them then. You can step inside if you want." I told Matt, who came inside, shutting the door behind him. I ran off back upstairs.
I came back down with my backpack, in which I had packed pajamas, 2 pairs of clean boxers, a toothbrush, and a pair of jeans and my From First to Last shirt. I secretly also packed one of my mum's shirts in it. It had her scent on it, and I wanted to remember her by it.
     "You ready?"
     I nodded.
It was a few minutes drive to Matt's house, so I decided to trun on my i-pod which I'd taken out of my pocket. I pressed "play" on one of Panic! at the disco's songs, and closed my eyes for the rest of the ride.
