Recap:
"Sakura!" Chiyo yelled
"Chiyo sama! Are you alright?!" Sakura replied
"Still worried about her?" Sasori said as he deepened Sakura's wound.
Sasori tried to pull the katana out of her, to kill her, but she gripped it tightly. She let go, and opened a compartment in his elbow with a sharp dagger. He backed away and prepared to attack Sakura. He ran towards her. Chiyo made a quick hand movement. Two puppets arose. Sasori stopped in his tracks.
*GASP**GASP*
You squeezed your hands. Sasori's mother and father puppets had stabbed him in the center of his chest... where his heart was.
The chakra strings... they're still tight around me... that means he isn't dead. you told yourself in an effort to calm your mind. You struggles with all your might to escape and help him. You felt so useless, just standing there, watching him die.
"W-What?" Sasori said as he turned to each side of him and stared blankly at the puppets.
"You let your guard down at the very end." Chiyo said. "It makes sense now. No matter how much of your body has become a puppet, you use chakra, which means there must be a human part of you. Your heart. It must've been before the seal took effect that you transferred it to this body."
Sasori looked shocked. Sakura gasped and fell to the floor, from the wound. Chiyo assisted her in removing the katana.
"Don't bother. I stabbed her in a vital chakra point. Even without poison, she'll die from severe blood loss." Sasori said quietly.
Chiyo put her hands over the wound as chakra emitted from her hands. "This technique Im using now is not the same as any normal procedure. I'm giving her my life energy itself. My chakra."
"W-what?" Sasori said.
You watched closely. It's...
"A reincarnation technique." Chiyo said.
"Reincarnation Jutsu?" Sasori asked
"I originally made it for you. In case you ever needed my help. I am the only one who knows how to use this technique." Chiyo said, concentrating on Sakura. "With this technique... one could even bring a puppet back to life."
Your eyes widened. I've never even heard of such a thing... you thought, watching intently.
"Idiotic" Sasori said bluntly.
Sakura opened her eyes and weakly stood up.
"Sakura, are you alright?" Chiyo asked.
Sakura nodded. "Are you, Elder Chiyo?"
"I thought you should've died from healing her." Sasori said
"Sakura was not dead, therefore I didn't need to sacrifice my entire life." Chiyo said
Sasori smiled and said "What a shame."
Suddenly, Sakura punched him in the cheek. You jumped. In the pit of your stomach, you felt what you guessed was anger; a burning craving to attack Sakura.
"I'd stop if I were you. This body feels no pain. The only thing that will hurt is your hand. Even if my own grandmother died right now... I'd feel nothing. She'd just be one of the thousands I've killed. It's easier that way. Better not to feel a thing." he said in a hollow voice.
"What the hell are you?!" Sakura demanded
"If I had to choose I'd say a human who couldn't fully become a puppet. Even I have human qualities, which no matter how much I want, I cannot get rid of."
He started to cough up poison. You felt your heart race. "I'll be dead soon." he whispered, so you could not hear. "Before I go, I guess I'll do something pointless as well. You wanted to know about Orochimaru, right? In ten days time, go to the bridge of heaven and earth in the Village Hidden in the Grass at noon. I have a spy working there with him. We were supposed to meet there."
He began coughing again. You felt your heart beat so fast you thought it would explode. The chakra strings tying you were loosening. No...No...please don't die!
The chakra strings disappeared. You got out of your hiding place, your elbows and knees shaking, making it hard for you to climb out of the trench you were hiding in. Sakura and Chiyo looked at you in shock, but you could care less; all that mattered was helping Sasori. "Who are you?!" Sakura demanded.
You ignored her. Your eyes were watering. You looked at Sasori. Sakura was beginning to advance towards you when Sasori yelled, "Stay away from her!"
He coughed even harder. You ran to him and laid him on the floor, then kneeled beside him. Sakura still looked at you with anger. Chiyo was watching you closely. You were now crying. You tried to remove the katanas from Sasori's heart, but when you merely touched them, he'd cry out in pain. You cried more and more, unable to even speak. It didn't matter anymore if you thought you'd hated him. It didn't matter what he'd done to you or anyone you knew in the past. You put your hand on his chest and used your medical chakra, but it did no good.
"S-Sas-Sasori!" you whimpered between sobs.
Sakura looked at you deep in thought, as Chiyo was, forgetting about attacking you. You paid no attention to them. Sasori half opened his eyes and looked at you crying. His once thoughtful eyes were now blank with only your reflection in them. You put your hand over his and cried even harder.
"N-Nami..." Sasori whispered, trying to get your name out.
"Sasori!" you cried as you collapsed onto his stomach. He put his hand over your head. You gripped his robes as tears fell down your cheeks more than ever before. You looked in his eyes one last time as he whispered, "Namiko..."
Sakura looked at you in shock, but you didn't see her.
Sasori closed his eyes and you heard his heart stop beating. For some time, it felt as if your's had stopped as well. You gazed blankly at his gentle face, unable to speak. "S-Sasori..." you whispered.
You felt a pain in your heart so strong you thought you were going to die as well; you hoped you were going to die. Your grip on his robes tightened and you buried yourself in his chest weeping.
"Why didn't you let me go?" you whispered as if he was still living.
"Why didn't you let me help you? Why did you want to die?!" you cried.
Chiyo felt her eyes watering looking at you mourning over her grandson's body. This child... this weak, fragile little thing... actually wanted him here... She loved him. Chiyo thought as she gazed sympathetically at you.
Sakura still could not believe what she had heard. Namiko... Could she be the Asakura...?... She was the one... the one Sasuke loved.
You wiped away your tears, though that did no good, as they continued to come running. You turned to Chiyo and Sakura, your clothes covered in Sasori's blood. "Please... As a favor, I beg you... kill me." you said.
Sakura gasped. "What are you talking about? We won't kill you!"
"Please! I don't want to live anymore! I have no purpose for living anymore! There's nothing left for me in this world. Please... kill me!" you begged, bowing your head in front of them. You didn't care how weak you were anymore. With Sasori gone, you had nothing to go back to. No one would wait for you anymore. No one would hold you anymore. Life was meaningless to you now. So why bother living?
Sakura approached you and stared at you in the eyes. Your vision was still a little blurred from crying. She slapped you across your cheek. You looked at the floor in shock. "He is no reason for you to die. Now come with us. We'll provide you with some help and repair your wounds.
You'd only just realized that you had gashes everywhere from the collapse of the building. But you didn't care; The pain was nothing compared to what Sasori had gone through. You looked back at his body and felt the pain in your chest again. It was like someone was twisting your heart and squeezing it. You felt limp and refused to move. Sakura pulled you up and forced to to walk with her.
Your eyes were hurting and your chest was throbbing. All you wanted to do was close your eyes; close them and never open them again. You slowly began moving your legs so your feet wouldn't drag across the rocks. You longed to look back at the body of Sasori, but you knew your heart wouldn't be able to bear seeing it again. You closed your eyes and prayed that Deidara would find Sasori's body so it wouldn't be left in that hellhole.
