"Mornin sunshine."
"Morning Joe." Jordan said with a smile as Joe took his seat next to her in math class.
"Wow you are like sunshine today."
"Whats that mean?" Jordan asked as she raised an eyebrow at him.
"All smiley and happy, what's up?" Joe asked.
"Nothings up, I'm just in a good mood today." Jordan said with a laugh.
"Hmmmm....shall I believe you?"
"Yes, now why did Frankie swallow a penny?" Jordan asked.
"Oh so now you care about my poor little brother!" Joe said dramatically.
"I always care, just not before nine in the morning on a weekend."
"Oh well ya see in my family we have this little competition going on." Joe said with a smile.
"Oh no."
"Oh yes. We see who can eat the most money."
"That is so dangerous it's not even funny!" Jordan said, trying to hide the fact that she in all actuality did find it quite funny.
"Hey well you are talking to a man who is worth a buck fifty, all quarters baby." Joe said, tapping his stomach.
"Well sorry to burst your bubble buck fifty man but I have a feeling Frankie will come out on top." Jordan said with a smirk.
"Well he is in third place right now."
"But you have three younger brothers?" Jordan asked confused.
"Nick is too smart to eat money." Joe said with a shrug.
"That is so sad that your younger brother is smarter than you, not very surprising, but still sad." Jordan said as the bell rang.
"I resent that." Joe said with a mock glare.
"I resent you. Oh ya, I went there." Jordan said.
"I like you being like sunshine, you are a lot funner." Joe said with an amazing smile.
Jordan just rolled her eyes and took out her notebook and a pencil.
The lights flickered off and the projector turned on as the teacher's voice started filling the room.
Everything was nice and peaceful until the teacher started having the class do practice problems. And that is when it started again, that annoying noise that seemed to occur every single math class.
Joe Jonas always seemed to do three things in math class. Talk to Jordan, stare at that cheerleader he had such a major and obvious crush on, or tap is pencil in a very rapid and annoying fashion.
"Joe, you're doing it again." Jordan hissed quietly.
"Doing what?"
"Tapping your pencil." Jordan said as she turned her head slightly to look at Joe.
He stopped tapping and looked up at her.
"Sorry, but, well, do you get any of this?"
"Ok so you tap your pencil to try to help you concentrate when all it really does is help me to lose concentration?"
"Yup, now back to the question. Do you get any of this?" Joe asked.
"Yes." Jordan said simply and turned her attention back to her work.
Not even two minutes later the tapping started up again.
"Joe."
"Jordan." Joe said, mocking Jordan's annoyed tone.
"Stop."
"I can't help it, it is a habit ya know?"
Jordan let out a sigh and turned her body to face Joe.
"What if I tutor you?"
"Huh?"
Oh well that stopped the tapping to stop. Joseph Adam Jonas never expected those words to come out of Jordan Marie Martin's mouth. She was actually asking to help him. Joe knew for a fact that she didn't really hate him, but he also knew that she would never want to spend more time with him then she had to.
"Do. you. want. me. to. tutor. you?" Jordan asked slowly and clearly as if Joe was a toddler.
"Seriously?"
That was all Joe could really say. He could really use help on his math, but that help coming from Jordan. Pigs must be flying right now because this is just too unnatural.
"So?" Jordan asked.
"What's the catch?" Joe asked.
"You learn the stuff and then stop tapping your pencil in class, oh and stop eating money." Jordan said with a smile.
"Wow, stop eating money. That will be missed, but okay!" Joe said with a smile.
"Ok, and the no tapping rule starts now." Jordan said as she turned to face the front.
Joe nodded his head and looked back down at his paper. Not tapping would be a lot easier if he knew what the heck he was doing.
