"Kristi come back!" Jason yelled out his front door. He watched the retreating back of the brunette and looked up at the cloud filled sky. He pulled his sweater around himself tighter and ran out into the night. He followed the sound of the brunette's heels on the sidewalk. They led him to a small park. He saw Kristi sitting on a swing going back and forth. He made his way over to her and stood in front of her.
"Kristi I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!" Jason said pleadingly. Kristi's head snapped up and her crystal grey eyes sliced through him, leaving him breathless.
"Didn't mean to?" she said in a deadly voice. "Didn't mean to?" she screamed as the sky opened and the rain pelted down on them mercilessly. Jason looked down at the small girl and watched as she stood up from the swing. Wordlessly, she began to walk past him.
"Kristi please." Jason cried out and grabbed her arm to stop her from leaving him all alone. She stopped walking and just stood there, not moving.
"Why?" she finally said. Jason hung his head at the memory of what he had done.
"I don't know why. Please Kristi. I love you. I'm sorry!" he said and he tried to pull her closer to him. She shook her head and took her arm from his grasp.
"No. I'm sorry." she said and walked away.
"Kristi no! Please come back!" Jason cried as he watched the brunette walk away again. He fell to his knees on the ground as his tears mixed with the rain and his heart broken in pieces. Why was it that rain and tears seem to come together?
