Her name was Rosie.
She had short black hair, cut pixie style. Her piercing blue eyes shone bright, every time I talked to her. Her smile, small cherry-coloured lips, beamed, every time I made a joke; pathetic or not.
Her tanned skin stood out, when wearing her favourite piece of clothing; a light blue dress that came to her knees, and showed her chest and arms; which I enjoyed.
But now, all of that came to an end.
Because she was gone.
- A week before. -
I didn't know why all this anger was raging inside of me.
Perhaps it was the fact that Ashlee Simpson, Pete's girlfriend, had broken up with him, which resulted in a fist fight between me and him.
Or perhaps it was the fact that my best friend Rosie had a new boyfriend, Matthew, and it wasn't me.
For years I have loved Rosie - thus too shy to tell her. She helped me through all the bad times, and vice versa.
I love her.
And it pains me that she doesn't know that.
So I thought to myself, tonight, I'd go to her apartment, and tell her.
As I opened the door, Rosie and Matthew were making out on the couch. This looked normal enough, even though my heart was ripping apart inside.
Until I saw Matthew pull a gun out of his pocket.
"No!" I yelled out.
Matthew immediately hid the gun in his pocket, while Rosie turned to look at me.
"Patrick!" She exclaimed, getting up to give me a hug.
I hugged her back, unaware Matthew had pulled out his gun and was aiming it...at me.
"I've been waiting to do this for a long time." He said evilly.
His fingers were wrapped around the trigger, ready to shoot.
I was in shock.
Rosie, on the other hand, started to cry.
"Please! Please don't kill him! Take me instead!" She pleaded.
I looked at Rosie.
"Rosie, go. Go to the police. I can handle this." I told her calmly.
"Listen to her, darling, he knows what he's talking about." Matthew smirked, which made my anger boil up even more.
Rosie and I looked at each other.
Her innocent face, her red kissable lips, I just wanted to take her in my arms.
I leaned over to Rosie, my lips touching hers in a soft kiss.
We broke apart, smiling at one another.
"I've had enough of this," Matthew said boredly.
He moved his aim to Rosie.
"It was nice while it lasted. Bye, hun."
And he pulled the trigger.
- Fast forward. -
This has been the hardest week of my life.
I keep seeing Rosie's face, everywhere I turn. It hurts. A lot.
"Hey Stumpy, everything okay?" Pete came down to sit next to me.
I shrugged.
"I'm alright. It just hurts, not to see Rosie again."
He nodded and got up.
"I'll leave you alone."
I missed her too much. It was too much pain to keep. I had to do something about it.
I got in my car and rode to Rosie's apartment.
Not to my surprise, there was a sign on the door; saying 'Police In Here Only'.
The door was halfway open, so I slipped in.
Just as I expected, the gun Matthew had used to kill Rosie was lying on the floor, where he had left it.
I went over to it and picked it up. I aimed the gun at my temple.
"I love you Rosie."
And I pulled the trigger.
I hope you all enjoyed.
