In The War - Chapter 2

The second I steped into the house a hand colided with my left cheek. "never make the young master work" he said before kicking me, when I was already on the floor. I tried so hard not to scream out, nor cry. This has got to be the first time anyone has ever hit me, and trust me, I didnt like it. I bowed on my hands and knees "im so sorry, mistress corina!" I begged "get up you filthly scum. Go line up, or you'll be sorry" I didnt not like her tone of voice, not one bit. "yes mistress corina" I said before struggling up and somewhat limping into the living courters. I saw Johnny standing at the end of the line and I went to go stand with him, while holding the side of my face. "im sorry, lynx" he said, giving me an apauligetic look."i-its ok J" I said before straightening out. I removed my hand from my cheek, but it stung to much so I put it back. "bow before your master" I heard someone with a really bad accent say, we all bowed. "no need" the same voice from before came. We all stood straight at attention. He started to examine us one by one starting from the other end, at Michelle. When he was done someone came and took her away. Probably to where she was to be placed. He did that to all fifeteen people before Johnny. And when he got to Johnny he just staired at him. Is he gay? that was the first question to come into my mind. "you will be working will Alex edwards. Cleaning the top floor rooms, every second day. today you will be helping in the kitchen." he steped away from Johnny and waved his hand. I looked down as the males gaze was set at me, as I was the only one in the room with him. And I did not like it one bit. "what ever is the matter?" he asked lifting my head. I still held my hand on my cheek, and he looked at it. "remove your hand." he said nicely, and I removed it. "your bleeding. What is the cause of this?" I didnt want to be hit, so I lied "i...i fell m'lord" "very clumbsy indeed. you shall follow me around, help me while im busy doing things." he said with a small smile. "yes sir" I said. I liked this guy, he's nice. " call me kale, and follow" he said before walking. And as he asked I did. I followed him, and I totally regret it now. Mistress corina was glaring at me as she walked up to Master kale "why is it that this peice of filth is-" she was cut of with slap across the face. "my father won't be to happy to hear you are abusing my servant" he said in a deadly voice. I admit im feeling a bit scared. Of both Master kale and mistress corina. "what?! I did not touch any one of your servants!" she protested. "your the only who wears nale polish in this house" he said pointing to my cheek. Wow he has good cordination sences because he didnt look at make once the whole time he was talking. "strike two, three stikes and your out" kale said, and walked away. I guess I have to follow him, so I am going to. "this is your sleeping courters" he said opening the door into a medium sized room. Walls were painted red and the floor was a shabby carpet. "your clothes are in the closet. I will leave you alone till tomorrow. If you need me durring the night, I will be in the room right there" he said pointing to the set of double doors to the right of my room, and the last on at the end of the hall. "yes master kale" I said "and one more thing.. Do not go outside, the gaurds will chase you down, and I have no power over that." he warned before he walked away.
I walk down the hall very slowly, thinking to myself. Why me? out of all the other girls? thats what I want to know, beore I know it. In at the bottom of the stairs. I look around, seeing all the maids rushing around. I see michelle run out of the house with a bag. "michelle!" I call. She doesnt hear me, or she ignored me. I ran after her. "michelle!" I shout argain she turns to me with a smile. "hey Lynx. How are you since the flight?" he turned away from the gate. "im good, where you going?" "the market. Alex and johnny - the cheifs today - are in need of cake mix and some vegies, so mistress corina sent me to get some." she was smiling. "well then, I have to go, see you when I get back" I smiled and waved, wondering what I was forgetting. "hey you! stop where you are!" I froze, not the cold type of freezing but the 'oh sh**' reflex. I turned my head to see a soldier running at me. And as another reflex I run.
im in the house, runing for my life. know what those soldiers will do if they catch me, and i dont want to be caught. I pass the phone, a vase, another maid getting out of the way, and a few doors. I ran into one of them. "hey lynx!" I heard johnnys voice. I just ran into the kitchen. I shush him and I hear the soldiers walking down the hall. "hide!" I whispered quickly. We all hit the floor. "what the hell was that?" Alex's voice was suddenly heard. "the soldiers are looking for me.. Sorry but its my time to leave" and like that I got up. without even giving my name, I walked out of the kitchen slowly. I heard Johnny sigh and ask. "what now? should we wait? or just continue?" and I closed the door behind me.
i rush up the stairs and into my room, closing the door behind me. Damn I should have listened to master kale. I thought looking around. I look at my bed. It looked safe enough so I sat on the edge.
i dont know when I fell aleep but I did. Just waking yo now, a sudden thought comes to mind and I get up. I walk out of my room and start down the hall. "lynxathia!" only one person ever calls me by my real name. "what johnny?" I asked seeing him emerge from another room, down the hall. "i want to know something" I remarked, joining my walk "yes?" I asked "where is this place? I mean whats the town name?" I somewhat laugh "i have no clue.. Does alex know?" " I dont know, he hardly talked to me" he said placng his hand on his chin "lets go find out" I said
