Andie thought about following Adam. He was walking, so it wouldn't have been hard to catch up to him in the car. But she began walking the opposite way, completely forgetting about her vehicle. She just wanted it all to be a dream. She wanted to wake up from it with him by her side and forget everything she had been contemplating for weeks. She regretted ever thinking about Jason. Now she was left alone in the park. It was hard to believe that a place that was so cheerful when the sun was shining was so creepy when it was dark. She tried not to look around much as she sat on a swing, swaying back and forth in the breeze. Andie could feel warm tears running down her chilled cheeks. She heard something rustling a few feet away from her. Twigs could be heard being snapped and sand kicked up along the way. She thought about running. But she felt that she'd be okay with a murderer coming up behind her at that point. She was informed that it wasn't going to happen as she spotted the messy red hair in the corner of her eye. Jason sat on the swing next to her. He couldn't help but think that it was all his fault. "I'm sorry," he said, beginning to swing back and forth. "Don't be," she sniffled. "It was my own fault. I didn't hide anything very well." She wiped at the tears running down her face. "Andie, don't cry," he cooed. He stopped swinging and pushed his swing toward her. He rubbed her back, hoping she'd feel better. "Why did I have to be so stupid?" Andie questioned, putting her head in her hands. "Adam and I were supposed to be together for the rest of our lives." Jason dropped his hand from her back. "So you're just saying what we were doing was a mistake?" he asked. "I don't know," she admitted. "I don't know what I think right now." He sighed. "Are you definitely broken up with Adam?" She nodded. "I'm definitely broken up with him," she answered. She still wasn't looking up, her face buried deep in her hands. She heard the chains of the swing clinking together, indicating he'd gotten up and let it fly back to its original position. Andie looked up, finding him right in front of her. He placed his hand on her cheek, disregarding the tears on it. He didn't waste much time in connecting their lips. His fingers didn't spend much time on her cheek; moving to her hair and tangling in it. Andie didn't bother pulling away, but kissed right back with the same force as him. Andie thought at least an hour had passed when they finally broke apart. But she knew it couldn't have been more than a few minutes. She tried hard to pull him back. "I have some things I have to do," Jason stated, making sure her lips didn't catch his. "I'll walk you back to Pat's, if you want. Or home." She shook her head. "I think I'll stay here for a while," she replied. He placed a kiss on her forehead before turning and walking back the way he came. After a while, Andie knew she should have gone with him. She started to become aware of the breeze, seemingly getting stronger by the minute. The dark and shadows were also starting to freak her out to some extent. When she finally walked back to her cousin's house, it looked as if everyone had gone home. She knew that Pat's five friends and each of their girlfriends were still contained somewhere within the walls. She didn't even think of going in as she climbed into her car. Things needed to work themselves out and it wouldn't happen quickly staying with all of them.

Andie didn't know when Jason was going to be done with whatever he had to do. But by the next morning she was ready for him to be hers. Part of her felt bad that she was blowing everything with Adam off so quickly. She was just ready for the drama to finally be over. She got ready for class, trying to keep her mind off of Jason. It worked, for the most part, until she drove passed the park. He was sitting in the same swing she had been the night before, kicking at the ground beneath him. He looked as if he was talking to himself; arguing about something. Andie smiled to herself, not being able to contain it. She hoped that the day would go fast. Then she could get to their band practice.
Things never seemed to go as planned. Andie swore that it wasn't hours passing, but decades as she sat in the large room with thirty other people. She had stopped paying attention only twenty minutes in, filling her mind with scenarios of conversations with Jason. She knew that it was high school of her, but she was content with it. Finally, she was able to get out of the classroom. Wanting to get to Pat's as fast as she could, she ran through the parking lot to her car. As she was doing so, she spotted Adam walking from his own class that had just let out. Andie didn't come to a gradual stop. She just stopped; almost falling over from the force of it. She watched him walk across the lawn of the campus, looking around for anyone he could interact with. Her heart continued to beat faster as he didn't find anyone and just continued walking toward her without realizing it. Just as he was passing her, he turned his head and their eyes connected. He turned away with a scowl. She wasn't sure if she should have been angry or hurt. She was well aware that he should be mad at her. She treated him horribly at the end. But he had been the one that left her, and she didn't think he had the right to give her dirty looks. Andie stomped to her car, trying her best to not turn around to find and punch him. The only thing that stopped her was the fact that if she did it, it would only take longer to get to her destination. Once she got to the house, she called through it with expectations of anyone to answer. But that wasn't what she got. Nothing was going her way that day. She searched up and down the house for a sign of anyone. She was about to make her way into the backyard when she was met with a familiar scene from the night prior. The basement door flew open again. Andie jumped back, hoping not to get hit with it. When it closed, Jason walked out from behind it. "Why, hello there!" he greeted with a sly smirk on his face. "You're just trying to kill me, aren't you?" she questioned, disregarding the greeting. He shrugged, walking closer to her. "Now if you were dead, it would be pretty fucked up of me to do what I'm about to do," he explained. "And that would be?" She had a good feeling of what it actually was. He answered by pulling her close to him and connecting their lips. She couldn't help but swoon. "Come on, guys!" a voice yelled from behind them in the kitchen. "I know that you can finally do this out in public, but not when I've just woken up from a nap." Andie and Jason broke apart, looking into the room. Craig was standing there, rubbing his eyes. The couple couldn't help but laugh at him. "Owens, where's everyone else?" Andie questioned, breaking from Jason's grip and standing at his side. He grabbed her hand behind her back, lacing their fingers. Craig shrugged. "They were in the backyard with me. But I was a tired little boy," he answered. She couldn't help but giggle at him. "They probably went to get food or something. You know Pat." "Let's go find them," Jason suggested with enthusiasm. Craig seemed to like the idea even more than Jason had. He ran ahead of them, getting down the street before they even made it out the door. Andie wanted to take her time, loving the feeling of Jason's hand in her own. She knew she wouldn't get enough of it.
i know one day we will sleep for days
