The Nobodies | Part Six

I am so sick of love songs to my stomach it's not even funny man. *growl* But on a happier note, Kate made an Amazing banner for the story, so I knew I should probably update. Sincerely][Layouts

Though I've searched for years,
I still have no idea on how to locate a Nobody.
I've just about given up.

--Professor B. Langton.

Nat went to the restroom in the middle of class. She really just wanted to be alone for a few minutes. She sat against the wall and propped her head on her palm.

"Natalie." Nat heard someone whisper her name harshly, but she didn't see anyone there.

"Hello?" she said, to see if she'd get a response.

"Over here." Nat stood up, slightly freaked out and looked around.

"Turn around." Nat turned around and looked into a mirror above one of the sinks. Only thing was, she didn't see her own face, she saw Erin's.

"Hi there." Erin said.

Nat screamed and backed away towards a stall door.

"Sssshhh, Nat. Or you'll get in trouble. Jeez." Erin said, smacking her head.

"Why are you inside a mirror!?" she asked.

"It's a long story." Erin said. "But apparently I'm not human anymore."

"I knew it." Nat said, more to herself.

"You knew what?" Erin asked.

"Edwin and them are..."

"Oh yeah. Nobodies. I turned into one when,"

"Edwin kissed you!!! I knew it!!! God, I'm smart." Nat said, grinning triumphantly. "You need to talk to Ryan."

Erin furrowed her eyebrows.

"Why is that?" she asked.

"Well...Kate and I have been trying to tell him that Christine is bad news and he keeps saying we should give her a chance, blah, blah, blah..."

"What do I have to do with that? He'd probably say the same thing." Erin said.

"Well if he sees you like this, then he'll believe everything about the "Nobodies" and he won't kiss Christine!" Nat said. She wanted to grab Erin's shoulders, but she couldn't reach through the mirror.

"Oh, okay yeah, I get it."

"Good. And...the sooner you do it, the better. She could be making out with him right now for all we know."

Erin just nodded feverishly. Nat went back to class before questions were raised as to why she was in the restroom for so long.

"She was in the mirror!?" Kate asked incredulously.

"Yes! In the mirror! It was insane!" Nat said.

"Well what did she say?" Kate asked.

"She tried to tell me what she was, but I already knew, like we talked about the other day. Apparently they're called Nobodies."

"Nobodies? Interesting...maybe we should do some research." Nat nodded.

"That's a good idea. Now if only your teachers could get you to do research." Kate rolled her eyes and Nat grinned.

Erin figured she would talk to Ryan after school. For now, she would attempt to do her homework while she skipped Health in the library.

"S'up?" A girl asked, taking a seat across from her at the table.

"Do I know you?" Erin asked.

"Name's Scout." She said, grinning.

"I see." Erin closed her history book and stared at her.

"I figured since no one else was doing it, I should explain some things to you." Erin raised her eyebrows.

"About what?"

"About the fact that you're not boring anymore." She said, grinning more. "I'm a Nobody."

Erin's eyes widened.

"Really?" Scout sighed.

"No, not really." she said sarcastically. "I'm going to assume you know already that you can communicate through mirrors, pull information of the world out of your ass, read minds, and go invisible, yes?"

"Er...yeah. I try not to read minds though." Erin said.

"Why not? That's one of our fun traits."

"I wouldn't want people to read my mind." She said.

"You're too nice. We'll have to fix that." Erin looked beyond Scout's shoulder and saw Christine walk past them. She muttered something incoherent.

Scout didn't turn around.

"I take it you're not fond of our fellow Nobody, Christine." She said. Erin was shocked a little that she didn't even need to turn around.

"Not really." Erin said.

"Is it because she's stealin yo' man?" Erin looked at Scout as if she'd lost her mind.

"Will you people stop saying that? No. It's just that she's trying to turn my man into a Nobody." Scout raised her eyebrow.

"Shit! I meant Ryan!" Erin smacked her head. "I just said that cause you just said it and I had it in my head."

"Yeah, okay. But I understand. I like to call Christine the MegaBitch." Erin looked at her oddly again before nodding her head and agreeing.

"I like you." Scout said, more to herself. "I'm sure Mel will like you too."

"Who?"

"Give it time, grasshopper." She said.

"Right. Okay." Erin said, still slightly confused.

"Now. I shall leave you to do this dreadful school work, which let me tell you now, you really don't have to do anymore."

Erin saw Ryan go into the boy's restroom after school.

"Okay, go now." Nat said, leaning against her locker.

"He just went into the boy's room!" Erin said, looking at Nat like she was crazy.

"So what? Just make sure no one else is in there." Kate added.

"Like guys taking a piss!? No way!"

"C'mon, Erin. This will make him believe you're a Nobody because it sure scared the hell out of me."

Erin sighed and walked into the restroom. Luckily no one was in there and all Ryan was doing was washing his hands. She surreptitiously slipped into the mirror in front of him and waited for him to look up.

After drying his hands, he did.

And she got the same reaction she got from Nat.

"Seriously, Ry. Don't do that. You'll give me a headache. And God knows I do not feel like another one of those." Erin said.

His eyes bulged and he walked up to the mirror again.

"Erin?"

"No, it's Silent Bob here to sell you pot." She said sarcastically. "Yes, it's me."

"How are you doing that?" he asked.

"See, that's what I came to talk to you about. Since you want to give Christine a chance so bad, and you won't listen to Nat or Kate, I had to tell you to stay away from her, because she wants to make you into a Nobody. Edwin already did it to me." She explained.

"So you're one of them?" Ryan asked, trying to make sense of all the information given to him so suddenly.

"Yeah. They change you with a kiss Ryan. That's why now I wish you'd have punched Edwin a little earlier." She said, half-joking. "You can't let Christine do that to you."

He was silent for a couple of seconds.

"Well...why not?" he asked finally. Her mouth dropped.

"What do you mean, why not?"

"I mean, I don't see what's so bad about it. And if you're a Nobody, than why wouldn't I want to be one?"

"Okay this is not how I pictured this conversation." Erin said, shaking her head.

"I should let Christine kiss me, because I don't see what's so bad about this."

"Ryan, there is a bad side to all of this." Erin tried to explain.

"What is it?" She knew there was something bad about being a Nobody, she just wasn't told yet.

"I don't know."

The kids of tomorrow don't need today, when they live in the sins of yesterday.
BLAH.
Give me medicine.
