The life of Codi Young (me) happens to be very boring. Or used to be...
You could possibly say I was stuck in a rut, one that would be very hard to get out of.
Did I like my life like this?
Well, I have to say that I did.
I fancy everything being neat, orderly, and I absolutely love schedules.
Take school for example:
I used to arrive at Barrington High School at 7:30 AM each morning, five times a week.
I used to go straight to my locker on the first floor and gather my books for Calculus, English, and History.
On my way to my first period, I used to say hello to friends. That was my little mingling time, between my getting there and the bell for class to begin.
After my first three classes were over, I would walk to my car and head home for lunch. Yes, I even used to have the same lunch, for the most part, every day: Peanut Butter and jelly sandwich, an apple, and lemonade or Gatorade.
I would drive back to school and attend my next four classes, which are Art History, Art, Computer Applications, and Chemistry.
Folks, this used to be the only time when my schedule got a bit hazy; when the black and white turned to gray:
My last class of the day is Gym.
Sometimes I attended and sometimes I skipped and went home, faking an illness, depending on my mood.
Why did I do this?
Well, who likes gym class anyway?
After school was over, I used to go home or to my friend Alice's house to do homework and relax.
I used go to bed at 9:30 PM most every night and the cycle starts all over again.
Just a day in the life of Codi Young.
Now, imagine a boy walking into my life.
Ok, nothing wrong with that...
But imagine him turning everything upside down and inside out; destroying my rut, whether for better or worse I still have yet to find out.
Can you imagine how confusing things got for me when I could no longer depend on anything anymore?
This certain boy changed a lot for me.
Who is he?
This boy is the one and only Mike Carden.
