For something being struck by lightning, the girl looked relatively untouched. Tarro poked at her and Akira smacked his hand away. “Do you think she’s even alive?” Tarro whispered. Akira felt around for the girl’s pulse. “I don’t know what happened…but she’s not dead.” Akira said ominously. They both got up and backed away slowly.
The girls eyes slowly opened. The two held their breath. She sat right up and looked around. “Wow, nice place you got here!” she said enthusiastically. She jumped to her feet and brushed herself off. She looked at Akira and Tarro. “Hi! I’m Kumi! What’s your name!”
…Silence…
“So…your saying…you just…popped up here?” Akira and Tarro had taken the girl named Kumi inside to learn more about her odd arrival. Hey, its not every day someone drops in your yard from a lightening bolt. “Yup! I already told you! I’m from the outside! The magic places!” Kumi talked fast and loud, all while swinging her feet back and forth.
“Uh…do you have A.D.D or something?” Akira asked blandly. Kumi grinned. “Yes sir!” “GREAT! I DO TOO!” Tarro shouted. Akira covered his ears from the noise. I think Tarro found his soul mate. “Wait a minute…so, where did you come from again?” Akira said. Kumi stuffed the last of her stack of pancakes in her mouth. “The magic places! In the sky!” Kumi said enthusiastically. “Uhh…has anyone told you you’re crazy?” Akira inquired. Kumi nodded vigorously.
“
Maybe there is something about the sky…” Tarro said philosophically. “There sure is! That’s where all the magic comes from! Up there!” Kumi pointed upwards. Akira rolled his eyes. “You said that already! Are you sure you weren’t just walking around and got struck by lightening? It sounds like it since you’re CRAZY!” he shouted. Tarro smacked him on the head. “Really?! There’s magic up there? You gotta take me to see it sometime!” he said enthusiastically. “Sure! I loved it up there!” Kumi answered cheerfully.
Akira rolled his eyes. Dealing with one crazy person was enough, but two? Your asking for the patience you never had. “I wish I could go back some time, but I can’t unless I get rid of this problem.” Kumi said. Akira perked up. “What problem?” he asked with sudden interest. Kumi sighed. “I guess some people just didn’t value my presence, because things would always go wrong when I was around. They told me to leave and to come back when all my bad luck was gone. So now I’m officially cursed!” Kumi recited.
Tarro and Akira looked at each other. “So…you’re bad luck?” Tarro asked. Kumi nodded. “Well then! It was nice meeting you we won’t be seeing you again anytime sooon, bye.” he said quickly, pushing Kumi out the door. Akira grabbed them both back to their seats at the kitchen table. “Tarro don’t rude. Look lady, I personally think you’re crazy, but if its help you want, we could probably do something about it. We’re very bored people who don’t get out much. I’d like to see the world beyond! So if we can do anything for your condition…”
Akira’s lament left Tarro shocked. He never knew his friend of many years would want to help a girl with…issues. “But Akira! She’s a walking dark omen! We can’t…” “OH THANK YOU SO MUCH YOUNG MASTER AKIRA!!!” Kumi shouted, leaping into his arms. Tarro was dumbstruck. “Great…an adventure…”
