Jessie's POV
I sat in a chair, sobbing into my hands, one of the new boys was rubbing my back, trying to get me to calm down. I heard someone burst into the office then yelled, "Blue!"
"Black!" In the corner of my eye, I saw the new boy, Danyal I think was his name, jump at my sudden movement. I jumped up and ran into Black's arms and he held me tightly. "Black, he's dead! I just know it! He's dead!"
"Calm down, Blue." I looked at him tears still streaming down my face. "Now, tell me, who's dead?"
I took a deep breath. "Big brother!" I buried my face back into his chest as he tried to convince me that I was just not feeling well and was thinking straight. But I could hear it in his voice and I could feel it in his body, the fear and uncertainty. The fear that I might be right and that our big brother might be gone, forever. The man who we both love and who protected us was dead.
And I was left alone to forever fear my father. Black sat me down and asked me to explain everything that happened. I looked into his deep blue eyes and realized that it's so easy to loose a loved one. So i took in everything I could about Black.
His black hair was a mess, like always, and his blue eyes were starting to tear up. His pale skin showed multiple scars from playing outside as a kid and from being abused by my own father because he thought we were having sex even though we were little kids and we all knew, even my father, that Black is gay. He was wearing a black Avenge Seven Fold T-shirt and black pants with his custom vans that he changes everyday. today, they were just black.
I told him about the blood and the wound that looked like a bullet had passed through my head. Like someone shot me or, worse, I shot myself. Then i told him about what I saw in the mirror. What I saw made me scared and it made me positive that I was right, that my brother was dead.
"I saw Big Brother. His skin was so pale. Now that I think about it, it was almost as pale as the new kids' skin." I glanced over my shoulder to see that Danyal was gone. "Blood stained his blond hair and his grey eyes were glazed over. there was blood and scares all over his face too. His eyes are normally soft and kind, but when I saw him, when I looked into his eyes, all I saw was evil and anger and coldness. Like he wanted revenge."
"Listen, I'm going to take you home, okay?" he said after I calmed down.
"No, it's okay. I've got to take care of something and I know Father would beat me again if I didn't come home."
"Are you sure?" his eyes were full of worry and concern.
"Yeah, I'm sure." He reluctantly nodded and hugged me tightly.
"Okay, love ya. I'll check up on you after school."
"Okay, love ya too." He walked out and I just sat there and gathered my thoughts. My thoughts, oddly, weren't on my brother or anything that just happened. They were on the new boys, mainly Grey, and why they seem so familiar, even when I first saw them last night, and so unnatural.
The bell interrupted my thoughts. There was no evidence left from my break down except the memories of those who saw and heard me, so I decided to go to class. On my way to class I ran into Grey and his friends, so I gave his jacket back to you
"Um, I want to say thanks for taking me home last night and I thought I should return this to you." I held out his jacket for him to take it back
"No," I looked at him confused, "you keep it."They walked away.
The rest of the day was so annoying. All day, teachers have been pulling me aside to ask things like, "Are you okay?" and "Do you need to talk about it?" and even, "I know a therapist that you can see. Why don't you give him/her a call." Each time they did this, I gave them the same answer, "I'm fine so, please, let's just forget about it."
"Jessie!" I was pulled from my thoughts by someone calling my name. A girl was running towards me with a package under her arm.
"Jessie Adkins?" she asked when she caught her breath again.
"Yes?"
"A guy who called himself, uh, Black told me to give you this." she handed me the small package. Before I could say anything, she was off going back towards the school. I was getting an eery feeling again. I just shrugged it off and climbed into my truck. I had to get there soon because it's going to be a long night.
*3rd POV*
The girl walked away from Jessie and stood in the darkest shadowed place she could find
"Did you tell what I said?" a male voice asked.
"Of course. May I ask you something though, Master?" To the students who glanced at her, she was just talking to herself. But that was because they couldn't see the figure of a man standing next to her. She was short with long, dirty blond hair. She was a little too tan to have lived in Hartline all her life like she claimed but no one really cared. She was one of the cheerleaders and everyone who knew her was jealous of either her beauty or of her strength which sometimes, if she gets too carried away, she might let a little taste of what kind of strength she had. Though she never really showed her true strength to anyone but other demons.
"You may." The intangible stranger stood next to his servant, watching Jessie as she climbed into her truck and drive away. He appeared to be at least 20 years old and was like a giant next to his small servant. His jet black hair was spiked and his eyes were just as black. He was pale and, if a professional athlete saw his muscles, they would be jealous beyond belief.
"Why did I have to give her it? What's the purpose of giving her information about us?"
"Do not worry about it, just complete your mission."
"Yes Master." She bowed slightly as he disappeared back into the shadows.
