Light spilled in through the window, shining into your eyes. After a while you turned around, stuffed your head under the pillow. When that failed you rolled over again, but found yourself on top of a squealing creature.
"Huh?" slowly you cracked your eyes open and moved just enough for Pichu to get out from under you.
Seth watched, attempting to keep from snickering as you muttered a quiet apology, stretched and went back to sleep with a large grin upon your face. The black haired teen glanced around the bland hospital room, bored now that everyone had left, went off on their business again.
'Greeaaat...' he leaned back in his chair and propped his feet up on the bed, beside Pichu. They all just-just cleared away so that I'd have to be the one to tell her that lover boy Stevey pie's gone.'
Pichu made her way across his legs and settled in his lap, shooting suspicious looks at her trainer, just now catching her breath from the crushing she had received just a moment or two ago.
"Chu?" the little mouse questioned.
"Well, you know." Seth scratched behind her ears.
"Pi." if Pichu had eyebrows she would've raised one.
He grinned at her, nervously, "Yes you do."
With a yawn you sat up. "Hey."
"Yo." Seth greeted and then went back to his little conversation with Pichu.
You looked around the room, rubbing at one of your eyes. "Where's Steven?"
Seth pulled his feet from the bed and sat straight up, like a child that had just been caught doing something that he really ought not to have done. Pichu's ears went back and she watched him, wondering slight how he was going to go about this.
"What?" you arched an eyebrow at his odd behavior.
"Well, um." Seth looked up at the ceiling, humming slightly to himself as he thought of how to sum it up. "He got a call... and um, said that it was serious."
You nodded, dread already forming within you.
"He told me to tell you to continue your journey and to be careful, and then something about how you'll meet him again some day. Oh, and..." he dug in his pocket and placed a ball on the bed. "Here's Torchyana."
Slowly, you picked the ball up, and then you stood up, took your stuff and went into the bathroom, without speaking a word to Seth. The boy just mentioned just sat there, clutching Pichu against his chest, wondering what was going to happen and how you were going to react.
Waves of loneliness ran through you, and you brought out your PokeNav. Immediately you tried to call Steven, but there was nothing.
'Probably turned it off, or just left it...' your thoughts slowed almost to a halt and you placed your PokeNav on the sink. 'Somewhere.'
Through several pauses you finally put your clothes on, fixed your pack, and put Torchyana back where you had always kept him. Then, you stepped out and when Seth saw the look of being lost in your eyes he just frowned, took hold of your arm, and drug you...

....
Yes drug a patient out of the hospital and then forced you to sit down on a bench.
"Um, so... do ya mind if I travel with you for a little while?" your brother asked, sitting on the bench beside you. "Just you and me for a day? We can play around bit!"
Memories of playing with him as a child ran through your mind and you shook your head, briefly.
"I think Id rather travel alone." Pichu looked confused, but leapt from his shoulder over to yours.
"Oh." Seth nodded. "Well, will you at least let me take you to get something to eat?"
"Sure."
It seemed to happen in a flash. You stopped at a small restaurant and entered within with your brother leading the way, laughing with Pichu about some personal joke between the two of them when they see a trainer feeding a Geodude some lettuce from a salad.
You both sat down at a table and waited for the waiter or waitress to come over and attend to you. Pichu sat down beside you, but once she realized that she was too small to reach the table, she moved over to your lap.
"How has your journey been?" Seth asked, playing with the salt and pepper.
"Good." you take the salt away from him. "Haven't lost any battles."
Seth raised an eyebrow, "Oh? That's uncommon."
"How many battles have you lost?" you ask.
He shrugs, "Confidential."
You: -_-
The black haired trainer ignores your look, "I guess the more experienced trainers aren't big on attacking rookie trainers, nowadays."
You blink, 'Hey.. I really haven't come into contact with advanced trainers.'
"That's a good thing." he laughed. "Cuz when I first went to Kanto, some rookie challenged me and I beat him so badly that I think he went home and gave up on his quest to 'become the best', or whatever."
"Aren't you a sweetheart." you mutter, images of a little ten year old boy wearing short shorts running home to his mother sobbing and swearing he'll never battle again.
Finally, after talking to your brother for a little while, the waiter came over, carrying menus and a small notepad to take the orders in.
"What can I do for you?" he placed the menus down in front of you and Seth. "You can order from the menus or, there's the buffet."
"Buffet." Seth replied quickly, handing the menu back to him.
"Same." you agree, handing him your menu as well.
"Very well, what drinks do you want?"
"Water." you both stated, a look of distaste on your faces.
The man gave you both an odd look and then left to get them.
"I need more water in my diet." Seth explained.
"Same." you shrug and stand with him.
A few minutes later and you had both fetched the food you wanted and finished it all off, you of course let Pichu have some, but other than that... Seth muttered something about hearing a young baby cry out in shock upon the feat of eating extreme amounts of food in a very short span of time.
The waiter came back, apologizing for taking a few minutes, just to see that you both were done and Seth was already paying.
"Thanks." you smile and give him a tip.
"Pii.." The young mouse took your water and took a large swig from it.
Directly after leaving the restaurant, Seth called out Foxfire and you both climbed up on his back. People whispered to each other, seeing the oddly colored creature.
"Woooo!" Seth cried, nudging Foxfire's ribs with his heels.
The fire horse reared up, shrieked shrilly, and then ran through the city, with you and Seth on his back crying out enthusiastically. Before you had reached the beach nearly ten people had been trampled.

...
You stood there beside him, staring out at the sparkling waters.
"Are you sure you don't want me to come with you?" he nudged your side with his elbow. "It'll be fun."
"Fine." you sigh, knowing that he won't give up.
"Excellent!" he grinned insanely and called his Rapidash back. "So, you know because your friends left the Lilycove contest so soon, they had to cancel it.
You blink, wondering where hes going with it.
"It'll be held soon, maybe in an hour or two." he shrugged.
You thought for a moment, weighing out your options. Continue on to Mossdeep, or go to a Pokemon Contest.
"I don't know..." you rub your forehead.
"I can get us in backstage to bother the coordinators."
"Okay!" ^-^
"Pi!" she latched onto his leg in admiration.

...
So you rode with him on Foxfire back to Lilycove's Contest Hall. You look at the crowds about the building, realizing that even though the crowd today was large, the crowd yesterday must've been absolutely massive. Seth slid from Foxfire's back, causing you to fall off.
"Ow!" you sit up, rubbing the back of your head.
Pichu sighed and jumped down beside you.
Your brother drug you to your feet and then pulled you into the building, stating something about it going to start soon and they had to get backstage immediately. Pichu ran after you, pushing past people.
Once backstage the both of you waited until all of the coordinates came back. You blinked when you saw a green haired boy, but then shrugged when you realized that it was Jared. It was some other guy with green hair.
Yeah... that's just utterly common.
"What are you doing back here?" a couple of girls demanded, crinkling their noses.
You just arch an eye brow at them, and Seth stood in front of you, smiling.
"We're back here to cheer you all on!" he sarcastically cheered, looking around at all of the coordinators. "So the competitors are not much this year, huh?"
The girls glared at him and you chuckled.
"Hey! You, the green haired chick!" Seth called over to the guy with green hair.
You cover your mouth and try to keep yourself from laughing as the boy looked over and glowered.
"Oh, you're um... a guy." Seth stuttered, scratching the back of his head. "Sorry! Couldnt tell, since you're such a girly individual, you know?"
You bite your lip and grab his shoulder as you start to drag him away.
"Wait, is that a Roselia?" Seth started laughing and pointing. "Dude, you're so gay!"
You glanced over your shoulder at the furious green haired boy with the Roselia by his side.
"Shut up." you hiss, covering Seth's mouth. You could literally feel the hate emanating from the people in the room.
As the two of you left and started to go up to the audience, "He just insulted Drew..." drifted out from the place from which you had just left.

...
Pichu sat in your lap and Seth was by your side as you watched the first coordinate come out.
"Can't you stay out of trouble for two minutes?" you demand, petting Pichu. "You'll give our family a bad name."
Seth just shrugged, "That's impossible for just one person to do. Our family's pretty well known for our abilities."
"It's just because our pokemon our strong and we can actually tell them what to do in what order and when it should be done." you reply, staring up at the ceiling.
"Exactly." the black haired boy rested his feet on the back of the seat in front of him. "You'd be amazed by the number of trainers who think that if they simply have a strong pokemon that knows some decent moves they'll win. You have to know when to use those moves, how to use it, and exactly what the terrain will do for you."
You nod and start drowning him out. The contest would have been interesting, but for now you just couldn't get into it. Seth seemed to be enjoying himself, and so did Pichu, but you...

...
"I'm gonna go for a walk." you announce, standing up.
Seth nods and continues watching the contest.
Pichu follows you out of the room and you walked around the main room, looking at the paintings of the recent winners hanging upon the wall. The room was pretty much deserted, everyone was busy enjoying the contest.
After a moment Pichu jumps up on your shoulder and you leave the building. The sun was setting and it was already getting cold. You passed by several people and slowly made your way to the beach.
Everyone was going on with their life, not a care in the world.
"Pi." she took in a deep breath.
"It is a nice day, huh?" you comment when finally you made it to a staircase that led down to the beach.
You walked down the stairs and with every step a feeling of being alone washed over you, caressing your heart like the sea caressing the shore.
For a few minutes you stood on the shore, the water reaching your ankles.
You pull out Kingdra's pokeball and with a flash she was floating in the water waiting for you.
"Let's camp out on an island somewhere a little later." you suggest, climbling onto the water/dragon. "Then we'll continue on to Mossdeep and earn another badge."
You noticed that the cave that Team Aqua's base was located in was now sealed so that no one could enter. Kingdra swam away from the shore and out into the bay.
"You know what, Pichu?" you whisper, looking into the dark horizon.
"Pi?"
"Sometimes when I'm alone, there's an odd aching within my being, like a dread of what is to come and yet a desire and hunger for it to quickly come to be." you look at your hands and then at the horizon. "When I was with him it all seemed to not matter, like it was drowned by something more important... but now that he's gone, it's stonger than ever, like my destiny is trying to take control. I feel something pulling me out there. Whispering to me, and I don't know why. I just know that's it's something bad."
The mouse listened intently as you spoke softly, emotions running through you without mercy.
"And the entire time I felt like as long as he was with me, everything would be okay. Things seem to be coming together, preparing for what is to come, and it scars me."
She nodded.
"I guess the only way to really sum it up is... I miss Steven."
