'Haine: What dreams I have? I dream of having a boyfriend who loves me for who I am, but I can't. I have to take care of my sister, go to school and earn a living. What about you?'

I closed my laptop and leaned against my chair, sighing. Haine is my chatroom identity. Haine means ashes, and ashes are whats left of my parents since they were cremated at their funeral. My name is actually Airi, I'm 17 years old and I have a younger sister, Chiyo, who is 10 years younger than me. Four years ago, I had gone over to my friend's house for a sleepover when the rest my family went on a vacation, unfortunately there was a car crash, my parents died instantly at the scene, but my sister was put at a weakened state due to smoke inhalation. Now, Chiyo easily gets sick and has to check up at the hospital once a month, these checkups can last up to several days.

Getting out of my chair, I glanced at my unconcious sister once before leaving the room to get a drink from the vending machines downstairs. I kept my head hung low so that I wouldn't see any bloodyor injured people or anyone-who has been in the hospital for a long time-with cheeks so sunken in that they give out a ghostly appearance. Finally reaching to the vending machines, I rumaged through my pockets for some coins. "Can you help me get an apple juice, miss?" I quickly spun around to the direction of the voice. There, sitting in a wheel chair, holding out some money was a boy with light brown hair who was probably a year or two older than me-at least he looked normal. He smiled slightly at my stiff expression, "Miss?" Without answering him, I grabbed the money that he held out and put it in the vending machine then quickly pressing the button with an apple picture on it. His drink fell out as soon as I pressed the button so I grabbed it swiftly and handed it to him, still stiff. I got my own drink and quickly shuffled away. Even after four years of constant visits to the hospital, I still haven't gotten over my fears of it. Once I retured to my sister's hospice, I reopened my laptop to return to the chatroom.

'Baka1308: Maybe you can do both at the same time, someone who will help you take care of your sister. Yeah I sound cheesy....but I can understand what its like to be in the hospital considering that I have been in a coma for the past year. This dream man of yours shouldn't find your sister a burden like my ex-girlfriend did while my brain was....dead....and yeah, at least you're still my friend even after the past 3 years'

**
Note to readers: 'Baka' means idiot or stupid**

'Haine: The girl that you have been trying so hard to impress? I should tell her how annoying you were, asking dor advice before every date. Guess she took advantage of you being unconcious to look for less annoying boys =P'

'Baka1308: ...'

"Sister?"

I looked up to see my sister rubbing her eyes. "Hm?" "Can I go home, yet?" She asked. I shook my head,"Not until you get your final check-up tomorrow, you can go home the day after tomorrow" She groaned and flopped back onto her bed. I laughed and tugged her sleeve, lightly, "Lets get you outside for some fresh air." Chiyo immediately jumped up at the suggestion, anxious to leave the hospital.
