I sat in the car as my dad Chris drove me to the airport. He was taking me to live with my mom Katie in Forks, Washington. It is one of the most rainy cities in the world and they barely ever have sunshine. I have been living in a cosey Palm Springs, California for almost 17 years and I am gonna really miss seeing the sun. I am not a rainy person. I like to go outside and bathe in the sun and get a sun tan. So this is gonna suck a lot. But who knows? I could end up meeting some cool new friends and really have a great time. Who the hell and I kidding here? I hate Forks already and I don't even live there yet. God, I hate my life. But I know it's for the best. My dad just got remarried to Stephanie, a blonde busty lawyer from LA and my dad is shipping me off to Loserville to spend some alone time with his new bride. He is so selfish. I want to stay with my dad. I barely ever see my mom as is. AND NOW IM GONNA LIVE WITH HER!? This is gonna be really awkward for the both of us. I am so used to a different kind of lifestyle than she is. She is a painter and barely makes 1/10 of what my dad does as a judge. She might as well be homeless with her little town house.

But her new husband James isn't that bad. He's a police officer with 2 kids from another marriage. He is 6' 2 and really nice. I actually kind of like him. My mom can do something right, she really knows how to pick out guys. My dad was one of the best. My dad is really awesome. He is my best friend for sure. He is always there for me and treats me like a grown up which is really new to me. A lot of kids talk about how their parents baby them and are dramatically overprotective. But not my dad. He is an exception. He always knows how to put a smile on my face and always treats me with respect. Its refreshing. But going to this small town of Forks is gonna be really interesting to me. I have never been more scared to travel anywhere in my whole life. I really don't want to be here. I want to go home and snuggle up in my big room and jump into my king size double bed and watch my favorite soap shows and drink some ice tea. That is my heaven. Being alone in my room. But my dad really wants some alone time with Steph and I respect that he asked me so nicely for it too. He told me I could live with my mom for the year and would make it up to me later. Of course my mom was thrilled about the whole idea of spending time with me. But I would rather be here in my home Palm Springs 'til the end of my High School year. It was my senior year at Palm High and I really wanted to graduate with all my friends. But I guess I'll have to deal with Forks High and make the best of it. Hopefully, people are nice. My mom and her husband are pretty well known in the small town.

Hopefully that will be to my advantage. But you never know about these small towns. I hear the city is almost completely bullet proof. There is less crime in that city then any other in the country. You think they would have named the city Happy Ville rather then after a utencil. My dad arrived at the airport right on time for me to go check in and get on the plane. "So, i'll see you at Thanksgiving in November hun." My dad said as he pulled into the parking garage. "Does mom know about this? Cause you know how mom is about holidays. She goes completely bananas about them and makes everyone do a bunch of random traditions that I swear she dreams about and just throws together." I said grabbing my purse form under the seat. "Yes, your mom is the one who suggested you come back so you don't feel sufficated over there. I think she is really nervous about you living with her.

I mean the last time that happened was when you were a baby. I think she's intitiled to be a little loopy." he said. I grabbed my ticket out of my purse and looked over at my dad. We were parked on the 2nd floor to the parking garage not far away from the doors to the airport. "Well yeah that is true dad. But still she can be a little coo-coo." I said as I unbuckled my seatbelt. My dad did the same. He pulled out his car key and unlocked the doors. We both got out and closed the doors. The slam echoed loudly and hurt my ears. Damn garages. I thought. My dad popped open the trunk and grabbed my black suitcase. "Well here you go Montana." He said as he handed me the suitcase. "Thanks dad." I said as I grabbed the suitcase. Boy, this is heavy. I thought. My dad helped me get the luggage situated and then closed the trunk. "Well I am gonna miss you pumpkin." He said as he smikled down at me. "I'll miss you too daddy. I love you." I said. "love you too Montana." He reached down and gave me a hug. I smiled in his chest. He released me and smiled. "See you in a month." He said. "Bye dad." I waved and pulled my luggage behind me as I walked to the airport entrance. I had knots in my stomach the whole time. I really am gonna miss my dad. I can't wait to see him again.
