Gerard Way stood awkwardly at Aiden's front door. His hands shoved deep inside his pockets and he chewed, nervously, on his bottom lip; a habit she grew to know after the many encounters with Gerard- a habit which grew tiresome. She wondered why he always nervous? Did he think she was just stringing him along so she could laugh about him at a later date? She has never will never do that again. So she welcomes him in, tells him to kick off his shoes and smiles at him reassuringly as he steps inside her house; the twosome scooting up to her room to avoid her Dad's prying eyes.
"Why? I've never seen anything more fake." Aiden laughs, pointing to the cover of 'Friday the Thirteenth'.
Gerard shakes his head, taking the cover from her hands "That's what makes it good. It's full of blood and gore, without the shock value." he smiles. "And it's good for girls."
"Whatever." she scoffs in return, taking the cover back and tossing it to the other side of the bed.
Gerard laughs; pushing his hair from his eyes. The room falls silent, the two of them realising that the movie had finished and the two of them were still flopped down on Aiden's bed; popcorn scattered around the dim room.
"You surprised me." Gerard starts; heaving himself from his lying position and casually going through her CD collection.
"What do you mean by that?" she asks, smiling faintly.
Aiden knew what was coming next.
"I thought you'd be..."
"Ditzy?" she finishes "And I thought you were just some anti-social reject." she adds; mostly to pay him back for assuming she was ditzy.
"You do realise that I'm not that anti-social."
"And do you realise that I may have less in common with my friends than you think?"
"Then why are you friends with them?"
"Then why are you hardly ever at school?"
Gerard's eyes bore into hers before he self consciously folds his arms across his chest; attempting to string something together in response.
"I have to go." he says quickly
And before Aiden can apologise give him a reason not to leave, he makes his hasty exit.
The cafeteria seemed busy that day; constant chatter and yells throughout the powder blue hall. Aiden was with Hailey- as per usual- and the rest of her clan. Apparently the new kid had taken quite a fancy to the group; him flirting with every girl that let her eyes fall upon his pretty green ones. Obviously, she knew he was attractive- by society's standards- so she gave him the satisfaction of not ignoring his existence. It was mostly because Hailey would think it odd if she choose to ignore his sandy hair and flirtatious ways; after all, it wasn't like Aiden to dismiss fresh meat.
But, Aiden wish she had listened to her head when it told her just to sit quietly- keep conversing with this kid who probably just wanted to get into her pants- and ignore the sorrowful look that sat neatly on Gerard's face. Aiden should have stayed with her group, she should have laughed at her friends lame jokes; instead of completely demolishing the popularity she had gained over the past few years. Aiden had ruined herself. When she walked to Gerard's table; it was probably just her imagination, but, the whole room fell silent and everything had slowed; sentences were spoken no louder than a whisper. This was suicide social suicide, she thought.
Gerard's jaw dropped when she warily paced her way to his table- along with everyone else's- and she knew, she knew, that Hailey was burning a giant hole into the back of her head; with those baby blues of hers.
"What are you doing?" Gerard asks in a whisper; knowing that all eyes were on the pair.
Aiden shrugs, she couldn't manage to speak; she knew everyone was listening to her.
"Can we talk?" she mumbles to her feet.
Gerard nods almost instantly; pushing his lunch tray to the centre of the table and following her through the silent crowd.
Gerard pushes Aiden's shoulder as they reach the steps just outside the front gate.
"Are you crazy?" Gerard chokes; not knowing the full extent of the damage she may have caused her popularity herself.
Aiden thought she was unrestrained. To put it simply, she was a complete idiot.
"Are you okay?" he asks more seriously; his hand finding a place on her shoulder.
"Can you walk me home?"
"But..."
Gerard's eyes wander back to the school, but Aiden looks at him and he can't bring himself to say no. Quickly Gerard nods, taking her hand in his and starting along the pavement.
Aiden couldn't go back in, she couldn't deal with the stares, the whispers and she could not deal with Hailey and her posse; which she had done everything to be apart of.
"You wanna talk about anything?" Gerard mentions, feeling slightly awkward and confused about the situation.
"No." she returns simply, keeping her head down as they made their way along the broken concrete path. "I hate them." she blurts, her stare flickering quickly to Gerard.
After a moment or so, she looks back down at the path. But from the corner of her eye she sees Gerard smile.
"You wanna come back to my house?" he questions shyly.
REST IN RESULTS
I'm not okay...
"Yes." Aiden replies as simply as she had said no; keeping her gaze to the path.
Again she sees Gerard smile from the corner of her eye and the two of them continue their way down the path to Gerard's.
I just wanted to put a little more Gerard goodness at the end of this... so here...
