Oukami pulled the baby blue shirt over her head. She sighed, today was shopping day. The day when whomever is home has to buy groceries. It was a family custom.
And no matter what, it was always her.
She grunted, the shoe that fit her foot yesterday, no longer fit today. It was small and it cramped her toes and feet. She frowned a deep frown and thought of other things to wear.
That's when she saw the nice navy blue custom ninja shoes they make you wear once you enter the academy.
She knew she wasn't supposed to wear them, but she and the boy from last night, Yuyuski, needed food in their stomaches.
She grinned, and grabbed the shoes at the door. Sliding them nice and fit on her feet.
Oukami pulled the shirt up closer to her neck, hiding the many small holes the mouse left in her blouse late last night. She frowned once more and tought about how the idea seemed so smart at the time, an dnow it seemed so stupid.
Grabbing her pale yellow trench coat and purple shopping bag, she rushed out the door and into the street.
The people of Kahona gave her glances and glares, some stared at her and others totally ignored her. She didn't mind, and nor should she should.
A lonesome stand caught her eye, the apple stand stood unattended and alone to the public.
Oukami walked toward it and checked behind the broken, wooden counter and saw a young kid hunched over, sleeping.
She smiled at the boy and gently poked his side until he woke with a sudden start.
She peered down at his and smirked, the boy looked at her like she was monster alien from Mars. She started to giggle, louder and louder every couple seconds. Then she snorted.
The look on her embarassed face made the boy burst out laughing in the total silence. Oukami got more embarassed and started to laugh with the boy.
"So, lady... What are you here for?" the boy asked in a sweet soft tone of voice. It made Oukami's insides seem to grin a larger grin she could. "Apples? I have a couple left. But be careful with them, it took me all week the get them." the boy continued.
And suddenly it started to rain, and then pour buckets of water over their already soked heads.
Oukami turned her head to check behind her. Running around, she could see the Yuyuski asking people information, most of the people pointing in the direction she was in.
She paniced and started to look around fractically. "I gotta' go!" Oukami told teh boy in a loud whisper, "How much are the apples you're selling?!"
"50 Yen each!"
"Ah! Ok, fine! Here!" Oukami shoved the yen into the boys hands and grabbed the apples from his other hand. She snatched the apples and hid along the counter, stealthfully moving from stand to stand, trying not to be caught by Yuyuski.
She turned around and bumped into somebody. The boy had dark, shaggy, brown hair and a medium sized set of black eyes. Two large red markings laid on each on of his cheeks.
A darker gray zip-up hoody and long brown shorts that came up to his scratched and mildly scarred knees, followed by the custom ninja sandals.
"Watch where you're going, dumbass!" the boy yelled in Oukami's face.
"If your fatass self wasn't taking up the onlt exit, I wouldn't have to worry about where I'm going!" Oukami shouted in his face, walking right up to him.
"YO! Oukami! What's the deal?! Taking my shoes and running away with them!" as if on cue Yuyuski ran up and entered the scene.
A very large pressure point surfaced Oukami's and the boys head.
"Yuyuski, so NOT the time!" Oukami warned him the best she could. But Yuyuski had a very, very thick skull. So it didn't quite make it.
"Fine! I'll go buy you some new shoes, that what you want?" Yuyuski asked. And he always had a terrible time at choosing when to tease her.
"Argh! Fine! No!" Oukami said. Her arms waving in the air. "I came to buy food for dinner, but forget it." she walked up the Yuyuski, "You, go to hell" she turned to the brown-headed boy and said. "You, go on a diet, you pig!"
She stormed off toward the forest, herself fuming. She walked on trying to find a good person to release all this anger apon.
And she kept walking until she did...
Yeah, do wahtever.
