[Neji] Fallen Dreams And Unseen Memories [Hyuga] Chapter 1

The main branch... that's your destiny...
I kept walking with my eyes closed, deep down feeling hollow. This gab never seemed to be filled... this wound never seemed to be heeled.. But why? That's what I've been looking for and I thought I knew the answer before.
I took the stairs to the main park at the top as it seemed it had the best view in Konoha. Watching the birds fly freely is too great to resist. Even at this time, after all what the village has been through, birds never seemed to fear flying high once again.
When I reached the top of the stairs, I quietly winced in surprise by a sight I had never expected.
''Isn't the sky wonderful today?'' A lonely girl with complete green eyes and shoulder length brown hair sitting on a bench asked. I was starlted to see another person here at that time. Every time I came here since, I would always be alone and be left to myself to think. But this time, I had company I have never met before.
''Uh?'' I said, obviously surprised that the girl would talk to me.
''Isn't the weather so lovely today?''
I looked at the sky. It was very dark and rain is threatening to pour. How could it be wonderful and lovely?
''...it will rain soon.'' I answered quietly.
''I know.'' The girl said leaning an inch to the front making her long brown hair slide down her shoulders,'' I can feel it. The air is damp.'' I was puzzled by her words.
''...then how come you said it was wonderful?''
''Because I know it is.'' The girl looked at my direction then smiled. I kept staring at her for some moments then turned to look at the view as usual.
''...it started...'' I muttered after a huge drop of water hit my head. I looked at the sky again and it wasn't long till the rain poured heavily. I turned to leave but then stopped, looking back at the girl.
''Aren't you going too?''
The girl winced when she heard my voice. Simply, she shook her head with a tender smile.
''Well, I'm staying for a while..'' She replied, staring at space. I turned to look at where she's staring.. well, it's just the Hokage faces carved on the mountain. I turned back to her with a blank look. She's been staring at the very same spot since I came.
''Do you mind if I asked a question?''
She shook her head.
''Why do you keep looking at the Hokages? Are you a relation of them? I didn't see you around before..''
She winced but then smiled, not turning her gaze.
''Why are you asking?''
''It was just a question..''
She closed her eyes not moving her head one inch.
''I didn't even know I was looking at the Hokage faces..''
''Huh?''
I blinked. Does this mean she's...
''So you're..'' but she cut me.
''Yes.. I am blind.''
For some reasons, I turned my head away looking at the ground.
I'm sorry. But I didn't say anything.
''Mind if I asked for your name?'' she cut the uncomfortable silence.
''Neji.. Neji Hyuga..''
She had a surprised look on her face. As rain continued to pour down, the girl firmed her hands together smiling.
''I've heard about you.. Neji...''
I winced.
''In fact.. my friend doesn't stop talking about you. You seem quite popular... especially among girls..''
A blush made its way along my cheeks. It's been really long since I blushed.
''Well, maybe..'' then I paused.
I kept staring at her for some moments. It seemed like forever that she began to sense it too, making her turn into a fade shade of red.
''Neji..'' I winced. ''I think you should get going. You'll catch a cold.''
''Hai...'' I said, turning to leave. For one moment I wanted to ask her whether she's staying or not, she wants a walk or not too but I couldn't spit them out.

''I'm so excited! I have a feeling today's missions will be awesome!!''
TenTen threw her kunai at the aim above my head, hitting it perfectly. I closed my eyes, listening to TenTen's excitment that never seems to run out. After a while, Gai came and joined us with the mission for today.
''What is it, Gai-sensei??'' Lee screamed, taking a battle pose. ''Is it a C ranked mission?? Guarding a Princess?? Fighting killer ninjas??''
''Actually...''
''I'm dying to show them my new technique! They'll have to know I'm the beautiful beast of Konoha!''
Gai had an anime vein.
''LEE! LISTEN TO ME!'' *anime punch*
''...'' XD
''So, What's the mission, sensei??'' TenTen embarked with a smile. ''Is it really a C ranked mission??''
''Actually...'' sensei started. ''Not exactly..''
We all blinked.
''We'll have to go for Konoha's hospital.. There's a grand party there for the patients and we need to help the responsibles and give the patients hospitality.''
''That's the silliest mission I've ever heard.'' I said, closing my eyes, cutting Lee's and TenTen's dramatic tears.
''What do you mean Neji???'' Lee cried, pointing at me. ''Just because you're born lucky with a healthy life doesn't mean you should ignore those unlucky people who need your help!''
''Can't you see it? It's their destiny to be what they are.. no matter they do.. they'll always stay this way..''
''O, yeah??'' Lee fired up. ''Well, I'll tell ya something! It's our destiny to help those people as well!''
''Alright.. calm down you two..'' Gai interfered between both of us. ''There's no need to fight. Save your energy for the mission.. believe me it's harder than it sounds.''
I looked at Gai who had a flashy smile.
''Hn.'' I turned my head once more.
We reached Konoha's hospital in no time. And soon, we were in the main garden, helping the workers to hang the charts and set the tables and food.
''We'll need to get the patients in.'' Ms. Giana, the nurse guiding our work said. ''Can you get them her for us please?''
''YES MA'AM!'' Lee saluted. TenTen hit him on the head saying,'' try remembering we're in a hospital!''
''...''@.@
I just shook my head and went off my way. I was able to get around two women, five kids and a girl to the garden, and they hadthose everlasting smiles when they saw the surprise. Tenten joined the girls and played with them some kinda kids game. Meanwhile Rock Lee and Gai were helping an old man to 'let his youth power out'.
''Um.. Neji?''
I turned to Ms. Giana.
''Can you please go and get patient in room 217? I thought TenTen was supposed to do so, but she's busy as you can see.''
I silently nodded then went on my way. As I kept walking through the hallways, a few kids came running heading to the outside with some of their gifts Lady Tsunade sent for them. I watched them run outside when one of them tripped.
Surprisingly, I was about to go and help him up for some reasons but stopped when the boy's friend, I think his brother, helped him up, rubbing his forehead.
''Pain... go away...'' The older one said. The younger kid rubbed his tears away as he enjoyed his bigger brother casting the spell for the pain to vanish.
''Don't run off like that again, Maru!''
''I'm s-sorry, big bro.. I just want to see the clown..''
''We'll see him.'' The older said smiling then they both held hands, walking outside. This scene.. totally reminded me about my father. How I miss him so much..

A sound caught my attention. I turned my head and looked across me. There it was a half opened door with the number 217.
At last..
I slowly walked towards the room, looking without opening the door further and I blinked as I saw this scene. Her. The girl from before.. she was sitting on her bed with her eyes staring at the wall across her. She had those cubes in her hands and was trying to fit them together, just like a kid would do. I kept watching her fitting them together, making a somehow castle-shaped like cube. She kept touching beside her leg, searching for the other piece when she accidentally hit the cube, making it fall on the floor. She winced, realizing everything.
I wanted to get inside and help her get the fallen cube but then she slowly got up her bed then kneeling by the floor. I watched her trying to find the cube, and how she'd react. Not long, her hands made contact with her lost aim then held it tight.. but then winced, sniffing in the air.
''Uh??'' She wondered then smiled, holding the cube closer toher chest.
''You can come in instead of standing by the door way, whoever you are..''
