People Change && Promises Are Broken |Nick Jonas| Chapter Twelve.

"What happened anyways? Why's he in the hospital?", I asked as me and Joe slid into the backseat of Kevins car.
"We're not sure. We were on our way home when all of a sudden Nick just passed out.", Kevin said.
"So we took him to the hospital, and he hasn't woken up yet, except long enough to whisper your name. So we decided to come and get you.", Joe added.
"This is all my fault...", I said.
"How?", they both asked.
"He tried so hard to convince me he was sorry, but I wouldn't listen.", I said.
"Well I can't say your entirely wrong. He wasn't exactly Mr.Detective trying to find you.", Kevin said as he pulled into the hospital parking lot.
I don't know what came over me, but next thing I knew I had opened the car door and I was running as fast as I could towards the hospital entrance.
The boys went to park, then they came rushing in after me.
"Nicholas Jonas?", I asked the lady at the front desk.
"Room 104.", she said.
"Thanks.", I said, then walked quickly to his room.
I knocked on the door, and Mrs.Jonas slowly opened it.
"Alaina! Come on in.", she whispered.
Joe and Kevin came in right after me.
"Any news?", Kevin asked.
"Not much. He hasn't woken up.", Mr.Jonas said. [I don't wanna call him papa jonas. hahah.]
I sighed and walked over beside the bed Nick was on.
"Nick? I know you probably can't hear me, but I just wanted to say...", I started, but just then his heart rate moniter started to speed up to a normal rate.
His eyes started to open and he slowly reached over and grabbed my hand.
"Lanie?", he said.
Everyone in the room stared.
"Well look at that...", Mrs.Jonas said.
I had no clue what to say.
But that problem was quickly solved, in an unfortunate way.
His hand went limp and his eyes closed again, but I didn't let go of his hand.
"No, Nick please wake up.", I said.
"Come on.", Joe whispered as he took my other hand.
"But we can't just leave him.", I said.
"We have to. Only two people are allowed in here. Meaning mom and dad.", he said.
I dropped Nicks hand and Joe, Kevin, and I walked out to the waiting room.
"What's going to happen to him?", I asked once we got out to the waiting room.
"I don't know.", Joe said and gave me a tight hug.
Then suprisingly, Nick's own brothers weren't crying, but I had tears pouring out.
"Come on. Want to go get something from the cafeteria? It might not be the best, but maybe if we get food in our stomachs we'll calm down.", he said.
I nodded.
"Kevin we'll be back soon.", he said to Kevin, then took my hand and we walked down to the cafeteria.
"Joe I don't have any money, I was in such a hurry I left my purse. So if you want to get something then go ahead, but I'll just go get a seat.", I said once we got down there.
"It's okay, I'll pay.", he said.
"O...kay.", I said as we got our food, payed, and sat down at a table.
We were completely quiet. I guess things were still awkward.
"Sooo...", I said.
"So what have you been up to this past year?", he asked.
"Nothing really. I turned 16 which was pretty cool. But other than that, nothing entertaining.", I said.
"Cool.", he said.
"What about you?", I asked.
He seemed to be thinking.
"Honest answer?", he asked.
"Of course.", I said.
"Thinking about you. I always worried about things like 'Is she okay?' and 'I hope we see her soon.'.", he explained.
"Oh.", I said and looked down.
"Yeah...I would say something else, but-", he started.
"No tell me.", I said.
"Nick said I talked about you too much. He said...he said you weren't worth finding.", he said.
I looked up at him but he was looking down this time.
"Really?", I asked.
He looked over at me with a look that meant he was dead serious.
"But then why...", I said as my voice faded.
"I don't know. Do you want to go check on him?", he asked.
I nodded as we stood up and threw away our remaining food and headed back to Nicks room.
Something must've happened, because Kevin was back there too.
"Anything happen?", Joe asked.
Everyone stepped to the side and there was Nick, sitting up in the bed with a tray of food in front of him.
"I'm starving!", he said as he grabbed the turkey sandwich.
I smiled and laughed a little.
"Don't be scared Lanie. It's the same old Nick.", Joe said with a laugh.
It was then that I realized I was somewhat hiding behind Joe.
"Oh..right.", I said and stepped out from behind him.
Nick looked over at me and put his sandwich down.
"Um...hey.", I said.
"Hi.", he said.
"Let's leave them alone.", I heard Mrs.Jonas whisper, then everyone quietly walked out of the room.
I looked down at the ground.
"Lanie?", Nick said.
"Yeah?", I asked, and bit my lip to keep from crying.
Nick stood up and slowly walked over to me.
I guess he hadn't gotten all his energy back.
"I love you.", he whispered and hugged me as tight as he could, which wasn't very tight.
I hugged him back and started to cry.
"I love you too. I'm sorry. This whole things my fault. If I had just believed you you never would h-", I started, but he cut me off by breaking the hug and putting his finger over my lips.
"It's not your fault. Don't ever say that. It's my fault for not trying to find you in the first place, which is what made you mad. I just thought...that if I pretended not to care eventually I wouldn't care. And the only reason I didn't want to care, is because knowing I might not ever see you again hurt me.", he explained.
I nodded my head and started crying harder.
He gave me a quick peck on the lips and looked me in the eyes.
"I never want to lose you again. Please be mine?", he asked.
"I could never say no.", I said with a small smile.
Suddenly cheers and claps came from the door.
"You were all watching that?", Nick said as we looked and saw everyone.
"Yep.", Joe said proudly.
I laughed then grabbed Nicks hand, and finally felt safe again.

idk how many more chapters im going to have. im kind of running out of ideas for the story.
