it had been almost a month since he left.

to the fans, he was known as Zacky Vengence, Avenged Sevenfold's guitarist and backup vocals. but to me, he was more than that. to me, he was Zachary Baker. my bestfriend and boyfriend of two years.

you would think by now i would have gotten used to him leaving for months at a time on tour, but i havent. theres always that thought in the back of my mind that he might not come back to me. that something might happen to him.

i dont know what i would ever do if that ever happened. i thought to myself as i walked up the stairs to my room, trying to take my mind off of the subject.

as i took a seat against my window, i eagarly looked at the clock on my nightstand.

5:00 pm it read it bold red numbers.

he was supposed to call me first thing this morning....

and then quickly turned to look at my phone. maybe it wasnt in service, maybe thats why he hasnt called yet.

"something must have happened to him". a small voice at the back of my head said.

"no. i just need to be paient, something must have came up." i told myself out loud.

a few moments later the door bell rang.

as i opened the door, it revealed a delivery man holding a boquet of about two dozen red roses.

"you Amaris greenwood?" he asked as i nodded a silent yes. "sign here." he replied thrusting a paper towards me.

i quickly signed the paper and shut the door on the delivery man, excited to read the card on the roses which were obviously from Zacky.

to my disappointment they were both blank.

"what the hell?" i asked myself confused.

only to be interrupted by my phone ringing.

it was zacky.

"hello?" i asked quietly.

"hey baby."

"hey"

"did ya get my present?" he asked, i could hear a smile in his voice.

"yes i did, thank you hun. theyre beautiful." i replied in complete honesty

"theres one more present i got ya, it should be arriving just about now. go ahead and open the front door."

"uh....okay?" i answered confused as i walked to the front door.

as i opened the front door, was the best present of them all.

there on my door step stood zacky, holding a single yellow rose with a note attached to it.

"sorry i didnt call babe, i was on the plane and wanted to surprise you." he said sweetly as he wrapped his arms around me and placing a soft kiss against my lips.


zacky ended up leaving first thing the next morning, due to a concert in Denver, Colorado.

as i entered my house from driving him to the airport, i noticed my yellow rose he had given me, laying on the counter.

remembering i had been so busy spending time with zacky the night before, i hadnt read the note on it, as i picked it up.

on the note, in zacky's messy cursive print were the words my heart's always with you.
after all this time, im coming home to you
