"She wants a divorce."
"Are you serious?" He came up to me and rubbed my back, "Um..." Bob struggled to find the words to comfort me, "Everything will be alright." Still uncertain about what he just quoted.
"You're right."
"I am?"
"Yes, our marriage would've only gotten worse." I placed a cigarette between my lips, "Hmm, I haven't called Carol yet."
"Well..." Bob looked at his watch, "She's probably in London now. Don't worry, I'm sure Gerard and Caz have forgiven you by now." He said. I laughed, it has been a month and a half since the incident.
"Yeah, you're right again. You're so smart, Bob. Why didn't I marry you?" I joked.
"Heh, I don't roll that way. Um what did I say?"
"Your words made me think."
"That's a first. Well, I'm gonna order pizza." He said and walked to the phone. Then I called Carol on my cell. My hands were sweaty as I thought about what i was going to say to her.
"Yes?"
"Carol, do you have a minute?"
"No! I'm a bit busy right now. Couldn't you have talked to me before?"
"I tried to go to..."
"I really need to go." She hung up on me! She's still mad. Then my phone rang again.
"What?" I grunted.
"Hey it's me, Amanda. You alright?"
"Oh yeah, I'm fine. You?"
"Peachy, I thought you were gonna call."
"Oh sorry! I've just been mounted with stress." I heard her chuckle.
"I understand. So you wanted to watch some movies?"
"I have a better idea. What about we go to a theme park today."
"Great idea, I love theme parks."
"OK, see you in an hour."
"Race you to the demon." She said pointing at a rollercoaster.
"Mandy, I just ate a hotdog."
"Come on, I'm sure you can handle it." She said and pushed my wheelchair to the ticket man, "Two for the demon please."
"No! I'm pregnant!" I said and pointed at the rules board.
Pregnant women may not ride the demon
She smirked at me.
"You're not a woman." She said. I got in and was locked inside my seat. Amanda jumped around, "Yay! This is gonna be fun. We're gonna have a pretty steep back drop." Before I could get up and leave, the ride already started.
Amanda laughed as I puked in a bush.
"That was so much fun."
"Only the part where it ended."
"You're such a whimp."
"I don't like having my stomach tossed, flipped and shaken after I've just eaten." She giggled and looked at me innocently, "What are you smirking at?"
"Nothing, you just sound a lot like my dad. He's a whimp too." She started laughing. Her smile was contagious so I started laughing too, "Come on, win me a prize or I'll win one for you."
"I'll win one for you." I said willingly and went to the hoops.
"OK, you get three goes, first time, big toy. Second time, normal toy. Third time, small toy."
"OK I must warn you, I'm shit at this." I said and picked the ball up. I aimed for the hoop and shooted. Missed by far. Second time it hit the board and hit someone on the nose. Getting aggressive? Third time it went over the board.
"Aw sorry mate." He said, "Because you tried so hard and failed miserably I'll give you a lady bug." He handed me a stuffed lady bug, the size of a walnut. I raised my eyebrow.
"Thanks...I guess." I rolled back to Amanda.
"You got me a lady bug!" She squealed.
"Glad you like it. It was the only thing I could win."
"I will treasure it always." she bent down and gave me a hug. I blushed slightly. She cleared her throat, "Um so you want to go home now?" She asked.
"Not really, but it's late and Bob'll suspect something." I said. She laughed.
"I don't wanna leave either."
"Hey Frank! What are you doing here?" I turned my head to see Ray and Crista.
"Oh my God, Frank? I haven't seen you in ages." Crista cuddled me, "Where's Jamia? Oh who's this?"
"This is my friend, Mandy. Jamia isn't here." My voice trailed off.
"Where is she?" She repeated. Ray elbowed her lightly, she got the message, "Oh I remember, she's probably...busy."
"You guys want a lift home? It's nine thirty." Amanda offered. Ray and Crista looked at their watches and cringed.
"Yeah, that would be nice. I've gotta wake up at six." Crista said.
We dropped them off at their place and Amanda took me to Bob's place.
"Thanks again for today. Oh and thanks for the lady bug." She said and dangled her lady bug around her viewing mirror.
"Anytime." I said. We both just sat their awkwardly for a minute or two.
"It's unlocked, Frank."
"I know, I just wanted to stay here with you a while." OK Frank, you made the first move, now regretting it since she hasn't answered. I sighed and opened the door. She grabbed my hand and pulled me into a kiss. Her cold lip rings felt good against my own.
"See you tomorrow?" She grinned.
"Sure." I said. Amanda helped get my wheelchair out then helped me to the door.
"I saw that." Caitlin bobbed her eyebrows. A smile crept onto my mouth, "She's really pretty." She said.
"She's beautiful." I said, she let out a happy sigh.
"I'm happy for you." Her eyes twinkling with gleefulness. Bob walked into the room with his hair wrapped in a towel.
"Oh, you're back. Had fun with..." He wolf whistled.
"Bob!" Caitlin yelled.
"What? I'm only speaking in Frank's point of view." I smiled.
"It was great. NOW put some clothes on." I said.
"Yeah, yeah. On my way Sarg." He said sarcastically and went into his room. I rolled my eyes and Caitlin shook her head.
"What would I do without you?" She chuckled.
"You'll be naked with Bob. You poor thing." I shrugged and she shook her head again. Silence.
"I miss Gee." She said, peircing the silence.
"I miss Carol too." I said. Caitlin had only heard about Carol, but she never met her.
"When am I gonna meet her?"
"You would've met her if you weren't sick on the day of Chuck's funeral."
"Yeah...sick. Look, I don't wanna crash someone funeral. It's rude."
"There were heaps of people there anyway. Regina had connections."
"Alright, I promise I'll come to the next funeral that happens." She said.
"Ha! Knock on wood."
"Hello?"
"Hey, it's Mandy."
"Mandy! I missed you."
"I missed you too Frankie."
"I can't stop thinking aout you."
"Me neither! Come to my house and sleepover."
"Haha, nah it's late. There's freaks lurking outside the house. Tomorrow I'll be there."
"Aw you stink, Frank." She joked.
"Bye Mandy."
"Bye, I love you." She spoke softly. I heard her hang up, "What the fuck? He hung up."
"No I'm still here. I thought you hung up." Then I realised Bob was listening to our conversation, "Next time call me on my cell phone." I hung up and charged towards Bob. he was pretending to make out with himself.
"I love you, Frank." He said in a girly voice, "I love you too, Amanda." He said in a deep voice.
"Shut up Bob." I said, "Did God send you down to tourchier me?" Bob giggled.
"Maybe, whatever the reason is, I'm loving it."
"You've eaten my popping candy again, haven't you!?" I yelled. His eyes darted around the room.
"No...I don't recall there being a first time." He said innocently. I laughed.
Obviously the next day I went to see Amanda again. We just stayed at her house. Her sister was there too but she didn't bother us. We ended up on her bed staring back at each other.
"You have pretty eyes." She said and tapped my nose. I smiled, "Our babies are gonna look like you, OK?" She joked.
"Poor things." I played along, "If they look anything like you they'll be gorgeous because every one of your features are as beautiful as the next."
"Stop it, you're making me blush." She giggled and then kissed me. Oh happy days.
MMMM I wish I was Amanda.
Hmmm jealous of Megan? Well you shouldn't be, coz Gee likes you now ^_^!
