I opened my eyes, and, raising a hand to block out the sun got out of bed being careful not to fall over the piles of clothes which were lying scattered everywhere on the black carpet from my attempts at unpacking when I had gotten home. I had arrived home early this morning from a meeting with Trivium in Florida, as far as I knew no one knew of my arrival yet so decided to go downstairs to see everyone who were all talking loudly in the kitchen.
I entered the kitchen where my parents, April and Phil, one of my two brothers, Bam and a handful of his friends, each one more childish than the next, were all eating breakfast. I smiled as no one had noticed me then glanced at my brother who was standing up with his back turned to me.
"Bam!" I shouted as I jumped on his back
"Sarah-Margaret!" My mum and dad exclaimed after finally noticing me.
"Ryan!" Bam's friend, Ryan Dunn, chipped in causing everyone to stop and turn to look at him. "Hey, it had to be done."
"Hey," I grinned at Bam and jumped to the floor, walking away from him and looking in the fridge for something to eat as though the past thirty seconds had never happened.
"When did you get back?" April asked, a large smile covering her face as she handed me a glass from the cupboard.
"About three this morning, I didn't want to wake anyone up so stayed in the guest room seeing as someone was already in my room," I said, shooting a glance at Chris.
"You should've asked, I wouldn't have minded sleeping with you," He said with a grin while I groaned and shook my head.
"Shut up, Pontius," I told him subsequently slapping the back of his head on my way to the only spare chair at the table. "So, what've I missed?" I asked once I was seated.
Bam shrugged. "Well, we're going to start filming the next movie soon, and uh..." His voice trailed off and he began staring blankly out of the kitchen window.
"'And uh...' what?" I asked him.
"Well, Missy and me, don't even think about correcting me," Bam said quickly, referring to the fact that I had a bad habit of correcting people's speech. He continued, "Eh, Missy left."
I looked at him for a few moments before speaking. "I can see that, I didn't ask about her because I don't care, anyway, what do you mean by she left? That could imply plenty of things you know."
Bam sighed and glared at me. "I'll make it easier for you, shall I? She's filing for a divorce."
"Oh," I said. I shrugged and sipped on my glass of soya milk. "So, what happened? You weren't even married for a year."
"Do you have to rub it in?" Bam groaned, glaring at me. He dropped his gaze to the table and began to speak in a low voice, "She couldn't put up with me, I was always out, I suppose the way she saw it I valued my skating and Jackass a lot more than her." When I was silent Bam looked up at me, "Aren't you going to say 'It's your own fault' or 'Thank God she's gone'?"
I cracked my fingers and leant forward on my seat so I was leaning closer to Bam with my elbows propped on the table. "Actually, no. I suppose you could have tried a little harder to spend time with your wife," I told him, exaggerating the word 'wife', "But if she can't put up with you being gone with your skateboarding et cetera then she obviously wasn't worth marrying."
"Thanks, Sarah, that really helped," Bam said sarcastically. "I know you didn't like her but you don't have to act so pleased about my divorce."
"Do I look at all pleased?" I asked and stood up. I crossed to the sink and began washing my plate and glass. "Yeah, I couldn't stand the bitch but-"
"Sarah-Margaret!" My mum cut me off. "Don't talk about her like that."
"Sorry, Mum," I apologised. "Anyway, I'm just going to drive into the city and go shopping, so I'll see you guys later."
I'll admit, I did feel terrible about Bam and Missy but my only way of coping with people's problems is to either be sarcastic or shrug it off, no wonder I've never had many friends. I pulled open the front door and walked down to one of my three cars, a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR:
I turned on the engine, jumping slightly as Vermillion by Slipknot began playing loudly. I sang along as I reversed out of the driveway and began driving to West Chester.
After about ten minutes I stopped my car in the centre of the city and crossed into a nearby store. I was still thinking about Bam and Missy, though more so about how it would affect me. I might sound selfish but with Missy gone I'd get to spend a lot more time with my brother, I suppose that's what had made me detest her.
I walked into various stores, after half an hour I had only purchased eyeliner, though I already had far too much of the stuff but with the amount I wear it's wonder I don't need more every week, a 'The Misifts' shirt and a pair of black jeans. I picked up a black corset and held it against me to see whether it would possibly fit, Just as I did that my phone began ringing in my bag so I pulled it out and flipped it open. I had a text from an unknown number, simply reading; Buy the corset. I looked around to see if there was anyone I recognised but found no one. With a sigh I put the corset back on the rail and began looking for something else. I soon found;
Once again my phone began to ring, this time it was a call from the same number. "Hello?"
"I can't believe you didn't notice me," Whoever was on the other end said.
"Who is this?" I asked with a sigh.
"Turn around."
The rest is in the results.
I slowly turned around, my phone still held against my ear and looked around, once again, no one I recognised.
"Okay, seriously, you're starting to piss me off." I said and hung up the phone, moments later being rugby tackled to the floor.
"Surprise!" Whoever was on me yelled in my ear. I smiled as I recognised the voice of Johnny Knoxville and pushed him off me.
"What are you doing here?" I exclaimed once we were both standing and people had stopped staring at us.
"That's a nice welcome," Johnny complained. "Bam called, we're all going to go over the stunts for the next movie," He told me.
"Wouldn't it have been easier if you'd just walked up to me instead of texting me?" I asked, placing my hands on my hips and looking up at him.
Johnny laughed, "Nah, it was funny seeing how pissed off you looked."
