Ch.1 sweet desires (A vampire love story)

             The day passed quickly and soon they were in there last period; gym. This is where things go up a level. 
“Tera can I borrow a hair tie?” asked Shay pulling her gym shirt on.
“Yeah,” Tera answered as she threw Shay a hair tie. “Danny you okay?”
“Yeah,” She said closing her locker and tying her shoes.
“Good,” said Shay taking a seat on the bench next between Danny and Tera.
“Girls dress out is over!” yelled the Gym coach as she open the door to go to the field.
“Come on lets go,” said Tera pulling Shay and Danny up.
                                                              They walked over to the mirrors to do a quick hair check when Danny screamed.
“What’s wrong?” asked Tera looking in the mirror. She screamed too. “What the-”
“What,” said Shay frozen at her nearly transparent reflection. “Happened to us?”
“We need to get out of here,” said Tera starting to panic. “We need to talk to Carmen.”
                                                              Shay and Danny nodded as they ran out the locker room. They left the school and took the nearest shortcut to gas station.
“What could have happened?” asked Tera looking at Shay and Danny for bite marks. “We weren’t bitten”
“I know,” Shay said opening the door to the back of the gas station. “We need to-” Shay was cut off by the sight of the room. The walls were covered in blood and there were two bodies on the ground. Both were so badly damaged that it was hard to believe at one point they were human. “Omigod.” Was all that Shay could say.
“What happened here?” asked Danny walking over to Carmen’s station wagon. The bottom was completely ripped off as if someone pulled it off and all the windows were broken. The passenger door was ripped off and a small pool of blood lay on the carpet of the car. It looked like someone tried to hide in there, but failed.
“We need to get help!” yelled Tera staring at the dead bodies.
“There is no point,” said Shay opening the back door. “They wont believe us if what we saw was true. If anything they would think it was us who did it.”
“Why!” yelled Danny kicking the station wagons door. “What happened!”
“Isn’t it beautiful?” asked a man’s voice who rose form the shadows of the garage.
             The girls screamed and watched the man pick up one of the dead bodies. He had brown short hair and red eyes he looked about thirty, he was extremely strong by the looks of it.                                                                                                                              
             Danny became frozen again. She could tell what going to happen next. Shay eyes were wide and she could barely get herself to speak or move. Tera on the other hand just wanted to get out of there and go back to gym.
             The vampire bit into the dead man’s neck and drank whatever blood might have remained. “Yum.” He said looking at the girls. He seemed to know something that they did not and looked as if he wanted to coax them into doing something.
“What happened here?” asked Tera breaking the near dead silence.
“Just a small feast and a game,” said the vampire setting the body down and leaning against a car.
“Carmen…” said Shay to herself.
“Carmen?” asked the vampire. “Do you mean that girl who was here before?”
             Danny’s eyes grew wide. She was scared beyond her own limits she was become anxious and anxiety was taking over. Not to mention Carmen was getting put into the conversation she stared at the remaining body and wondered if that was her.
“Where is she!” yelled Tera going in her pockets.
             The vampire laughed a bit and started to walk away.
“Omigod” thought Danny. “It can’t be”
“She is with some of my friends,” said the vampire. “It turns out she has had a lot of vampire involved things pumped into her system. So we want to make sure she stays that way.”
             The silence broke as Tera throw a garlic bomb at the vampire she grabbed Danny and Shay by the arms and pulled them out of the room. They ran into the broad daylight for protection from the vampire. What confused them was that the light did not burn them as well.
“We need to get out of here,” said Shay. “We need to find Carmen she is in deep trouble.”
“I know,” said Tera sitting down. “We need a plan.”
“Carmen,” said Danny to herself. She was extremely traumatized.
“Let’s go to my house,” said Shay nodding her head. “We can make a plan there.”
             Tera agreed and helped Danny walk to Shay’s house.

“You’re a smart one aren’t you?” asked a vampire holding Carmen’s arms behind her back.
“Go to hell,” she said trying to pull her arms free.
“That hurts,” says Chain walking by Carmen’s side.
“Good,” said Carmen giving Chain a piercing glare.
“All I wanted,” said Chain smirking. “Was for us to be together, and you just had to mess with the lab stuff.”
“For the last time,” said Carmen yelling now. “I did not go to the lab, I was with your ASS!”
“Then why do you have free will?” asked the vampire who was holding Carmen’s arms.
             Carmen became silent and looked away from Chain. The only thing on her mind was Shay and the girls. She new they had to hide or else they could be brought were she was too. That was the last thing she wanted.
“What do you want?” Carmen asked still looking away.
“Finally,” said Chain as he licked his lips.

“So here is my plan,” said Tera getting out a map. “We could break into vampire hall at dawn. That way they cant hurt us and we can search for Carmen.”
“What if she is not there,” said Shay leaning back in her chair. “It would be a lost cause.”
“True,” said Tera. “What do you think Danny?”
             Danny remained silent. She stared at her transparent reflection in a compact and did not move.
“Hey,” said Shay shutting the compact. “Don’t worry about that okay.”
             Danny looked away and stared at the ground now.
“Man your worse then Shay when she wakes up in the morning,” said Tera patting Danny’s back.
“Erg,” Shay hits Tera on the back of the head. “I have an idea. We can go to Carmen’s house and look for clues.”
“That might work,” said Tera smiling. “What do you say, Danny?”
             Danny doesn’t answer, she just stares.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” said Tera patting Danny on the head.
“Okay,” said Shay as she grabs her bag. “Put all the stuff we need in here just in case.”
“Gotcha!” said Tera getting the stuff.
 
             They leave about an hour later and leave a note just in case. They take the long way to Carmen’s house so they can stay in the sunlight.
 
“Where here,” said Tera going under the house mat for the extra key.
“Yeah,” said Shay as a chill went down her spine. She had been over Carmen’s house plenty of times but for some reason today it just did not feel right to her.
              Danny found the key and unlocked the door. As they walked in they saw the entire house was ransacked as if she was robbed early that day.
“Whoa,” said Tera walking in. “This place is a wreck.”
“Yeah,” said Shay looking around. The entire house was dark in the inside and it was a two story house. “I’ll take the basement,” Shay says taking a flashlight out of her bag.
“Okay,” said Tera. “Danny will go with you and I will take upstairs. Make sure your cells are on.. We might need them.” Tera takes out her cell.
“Good idea,” Shay said as she took out her phone. “Anything weird happens leave immediately got it? Then call.”
“Yeah,” Danny and Tera say at the same time.

             Tera walked up the stairs and kept a flashlight on ahead of her. She walked around quietly and held here breath. She walked into the first room or Carmen’s bed room. The bed was smashed against the wall and here TV had been knocked over. Everything was destroyed. Tera looked around for any evidence; she went into the bathroom. The make up had been all over the floor and the mirrors were all cracked and broken. “Somebody must have really wanted something.” Tera whispered to herself. She stopped for a second to look under the cabinets. There was a snapping noise behind her. She took a deep breath and looked behind her. A small cat started to rub against her back. “Only Tiger,” She said softly to herself. She petted the cat and stood up. When she turned around the same vampire from the garage was standing in front of her. Her eye grew wide. There was no way out he was in the way of the door way.
“You again,” said the vampire sitting on the cabinet now. “I do not think we have properly met.” He licked his lips now exposing his long sharp fangs. “My name is Drake.”
“Mine is Tera,” Tera backed away and hid the cell behind her back. She tries to text Tera and Danny.
“Nice name,” said Drake as he stood up. “What are you hiding behind your back?”
“N-nothing,” said Tera as she looked at the cabinets she got an idea.
“Huh?” asked Drake as he too looked at the cabinet.
             Tera kicked the cabinet door open and jumped in. She crawled to the other side she could hear Drake pounding on the side. She was nearly to other side when the cabinet door behind her tore open and flew off the ridges. Tera let out a scream.
“No you don’t!” Drake grabbed Tera’s leg and starts to pull her out.
“Let go!” Yelled Tera as she kicked his arm. She sent her message to Tera and screamed again.
 
 
“Shay did you hear that?” asked Danny shivering in fear. She heard another scream.
“Tera!” Shay took off towards the stairs to leave the basement. When she got to the top she saw a shadow pass and the door slammed shut in front of her. “Shit!” she yelled banging on the door. She took out her cell, no service.
“Shay I am scared,” said Danny holding Shay’s arm. “I want to go home.”
“Danny hush,” Shay looked around. The basement was dim so she walked over to the light switch. “Something does not feel right.”
             Danny let out a long sigh. Shay flipped the switch and nothing happened.
“Does Carmen ever pay her bills?” asked Shay kicking the wall. “We need another way out.” Shay sat on the stairs and took a deep breath.
“Okay,” said Danny sitting down too. “Maybe I can do something.” Danny jumped off the rail and went through some boxes.
“What are you doing?” asked Shay now trying to fix her phone.
“We can use something to bash the door open,” said Danny looking around. She walks over to some more boxes when a dark figure rose from behind the boxes. Danny let out a scream.
 
 
 
“Come on,” said Drake. “I wont hurt you…much.”
             Tera continues to scream when she feels something wet on her arm, the one she was using to pull her self away. A figure in the shape of a man was standing in front of her. It had a sword in its hand and started to swings it. Tera screamed again and closed her eyes.
             Darien’s grasp on her leg loosed and then his hand completely let go. She felt someone pulling her out of the cabinet. She opened her eyes and looked. The lights were on now and Dawn stood in front of her. He smiling and his sword was covered in blood.
“You okay?” he asked looking into her eyes.
             All Tera could do was cry. She quickly grabbed Dawn and hugged him. She was filled with relief. She felt him put his arm around her.
“Thanks,” she cried. She let go and wiped her face, she tried to compose her self. “Were are Shay and Tera?” She then asked.
