Ch.1 sweet desires (A vampire love story)

“Were did you get that idea” asked Shay throwing her two wrappers away too.
“I did not think it was that bad,” said Danny frowning. “I mean come on you gave me the idea, Tera.”
             Tera blushed while Shay and Carmen laughed.
“Slick,” said Carmen crumbling her three wrappers and throwing them over to the trash can. “Very sli-“
“Carmen?” asked Shay looking over.
“Breath!” yelled Tera. “Sheesh your making Carmen choke with your lame jokes.”
Shay hits Tera on the back of the head. “Carmen you okay?” she asked patting her back.
             Carmen stood up and walked over to a wall. She put her forehead on it and coughed.
“In through the mouth!” exclaimed Danny as she put her book bag over her shoulders. “Out through the nose.”
             Shay glared at Danny and walked over to Carmen. While Carmen grasped her own throat and continued to cough.
“Hey Shay we got to go for school soon.” Said Danny handing Tera her bag. “We cant be late again.”
“One sec!” yelled Shay standing next to Carmen now.
             Carmen turned to Shay and grabbed her by the neck.
“GASP!” yelled Tera running over. “Carmen what is up with you?”
             Carmen’s eyes flashed red for a second and then she let go of Shay. She leaned her back against the wall and slid down until she was sitting down, she then rested her head between her legs and started to shake.
Shay rubbed her neck and sat next to Carmen. “I think we have to talk.” She whispered in Carmen’s ear.
             Carmen nodded and stared blankly at the window. “You better go to school now…”
“….ok” said Danny throwing Shay here bag.
“Ok,” said Shay. “Bye Carmen.”
“Yeah bye Carmen!” said Danny opening the door.
“Feel better,” said Tera.
“Yeah,” Shay said as she shut the door behind her.
             Carmen remained sitting and continued to stare at the window.

“Shay,” said Tera throwing here arm over her shoulder. “Do you think Carmen will be okay?”
“Sadly I doubt it,” Shay said as she looked at Danny walking ahead. “I think Chain might have…”
             Danny stopped walking and turned around to Shay and Tera. “Don’t even think that! Carmen will be okay, there is nothing wrong with her!”
             Shay and Tera remained quite. They new that Danny did not like the whole vampire concept. When she was five years old her parents where murdered by vampires at her house. She witnessed the event and was left at her house for hours staring at her parents bodies. Carmen had become her guardian for a while until Shay’s parents fully adopted her when she turned ten, another reason why Shay can’t leave Danny or Carmen.
“Danny?” asked Tera. Her voice was calm and she tried to sound a little sympathetic.
“Yeah,” answered Danny starting to walk again.
“Sorry,” said Tera smiling and starting to run ahead.
“What?” asked Danny looking around; she looked on her book bag to see her binder was missing. “Tera!” she yelled running after.
“Great…” Shay said to her self.
             The wind blew leaves twirling across the street. There was an eerie feeling as the breeze brushed against Shay’s face. She could sense something strange as if someone or something was fallowing her. She ran ahead to catch up with Tera and Danny.

“When slaying a vampire where do you aim?” asked Ms. Parkston; Shay, Tera, and Danny’s first period teacher. She was very old maybe in her sixties or early seventies.
             Tera raised her hand. Shay fell asleep behind her book, and Danny day dreamed out the window.
“Yes Tera,” said Ms. Parkston as she slammed her ruler near Shay’s desk.
“What the!” she said as she jumped out her seat.
“The heart,” said Tera trying not to laugh at Shay.
             Danny looked over to school playground and saw a moving shadow in the shape of a person. She nodded her head at it so that Tera and Shay noticed. They all new who it was; Chain and he wasn’t alone.
“Ms. Parkston,” said Tera raising her hand. “I have lady problem and need Danny and Shay with me. I feel embarrassed can we go?”
“Um,” said Ms. Parkston confused. “Yes take the hall pass and hurry.”
“Thank..” said Tera grabbing Danny and Shay by the arms and pulling them out.
“Why is Chain here?” asked Danny starting to run.
“I don’t know,” Shay said as she ran next to Danny. “He knows that if he is caught he will be killed. He is not alone either. We need to act quickly”
“Yeah,” Tera agreed. “Do you want me to run to get back up. We don’t know what we are up against.”
“No,” said Shay shaking her head. “There is not enough time.”
             Danny and Tera nodded and ran faster. They made it to Shay’s locker and climbed on top. Over Shay’s locker there was a secret entrance to the roof. So they jumped up and hid on the roof behind a three foot wall.
“There seems to be only two,” whispered Tera looking over the wall. “They are talking.”
“Yeah and the shadows are in the favor,” said Danny as she looked through a pair of binoculars. “They could easily reach us.”
“Where did you get those?” asked Tera looking at Danny.
“Shay’s locker,” said Danny putting them down.
“Guys shush,” said Shay staying alert.
“Let me see,” asked Tera grabbing the binoculars.
“No,” said Danny grabbing them back. “I found them!”
“Guys,” Shay said pointing down.
“Give the-,” Tera pulled the binoculars to hard and they flew off the roof. They crashed to the ground and broke. Chain and the other vampire looked over.
“You idiots!” Shay whispered as she started to crawl over to the exit.
             Chain appeared in front of Danny and grabbed her by the front of her shirt.
“Let go!” she screamed.
“What are you doing here?” asked Chain picking her up higher.
“Duhh,” said Tera standing up and pulling Danny’s leg. “We are at school.”
“What pests you have Chain,” said the other vampire appearing behind Tera. He picks her up by the back of her shirt and she kicks around. This vampire and short black hair in the black and crimson long bangs in the front, his eyes were hidden and he seemed older and bigger then Chain.
“Yeah John,” said Chain licking his lips. “But the better to feed don’t you say. I mean you need it after what you have been through in the last couple of days.”
             Shay stood up and stared at Danny and Tera. “Wait your name is John? You are the guy who works at the lab.” She said remembering last year when she went to the lab trick or treating last year.
“The candy man?” asked Danny kicking around. “I remember him. The jerk only gave me one piece of candy last year. Let me at him!” She was running around in the air.
“No I don’t work at the lab,” said John. “I only work for the master now.”
“Yeah,” said Chain rolling his eyes. “You keep talking about him. Can we drink now?”
“Hey!” yelled Shay as she ran over to Chain. “We are friends with Carmen.”
“It is funny,” said Chain grabbing Shay as she approached. “I already know that, and all it does is makes me thirstier.”
             Danny became frozen with fear and couldn’t move or talk anymore.
“GASP!” yelled Tera kicking more. “You freaks!”
“I like this kid,” said John pulling her closer so that her back touched his chest. “Her blood must be boiling like her temper. Maybe I should taste for myself.”
“Let her go!” screamed Shay starting to twist around in Chain’s grasp.
“Shut up,” said Chain hitting Shay’s body against the wall. “Don’t want anyone coming up here.”
“Hey kid stop squirming. You are just going to hurt yourself,” said John moving his mouth towards Tera’s neck.    
“AH!” screamed Tera trying to move free.
              Danny remained staring she wanted to scream and to try and get free. She was completely frozen in fear and watched John put his mouth near Tera’s neck. Just then an arrow whizzed pass Danny’s head and hit John in the chest. He recoiled back and dropped Tera. She landed to close to the wall and became K.O.’D.
“What the,” said Chain looking back. He let Danny and Shay go and jumped off the roof. He disappeared in the school’s shadow. Shay landed next to Tera and Danny immediately went into fetal position and cried.
“You girls okay,” asked a boy as he climbed onto the roof. He had black to navy blue long hair. He had a muscular and man shaped face. He had a bow and arrow on his back and had deep and dark black eyes. He was the same age as Shay.
“Yeah,” said Shay standing up. “Thanks, was that you?”
“Yep,” said the boy keeping a straight face. “I am Dawn vampire slayer…in training.” He looked at John’s dead body and watched it deteriorate and blow away with the wind.
“Vampire slayer?” asked Shay walking over to Tera to wake her up.
“Yeah,” said Dawn still not changing expression. “Why?”
             Tera woke up and jumped up. “OMIGOD!” she screamed.
“Tera its okay,” said Shay turning her head to look at Dawn, but he was gone.
“We better go back to class,” said Danny finally getting up.
“Yeah,” agreed Shay as she helped Tera up. “Come on.”
              They quickly made it back to there class and went to there seats without saying a word.
 “Have any trouble?” asked Ms Parkston.
“No,” they all said in unison.

             The day passed quickly and soon they were in there last period; gym. This is where things go up a level. 
“Tera can I borrow a hair tie?” asked Shay pulling her gym shirt on.
“Yeah,” Tera answered as she threw Shay a hair tie. “Danny you okay?”
“Yeah,” She said closing her locker and tying her shoes.
“Good,” said Shay taking a seat on the bench next between Danny and Tera.
“Girls dress out is over!” yelled the Gym coach as she open the door to go to the field.
“Come on lets go,” said Tera pulling Shay and Danny up.
             They walked over to the mirrors to do a quick hair check when Danny screamed
