Given a Rose with Thorns (3)

So you shift into a little more of a comfortable position and look at the floor and pretend that your thinking hard about something- whenever someone is thinking hard and they're trying to figure it out as soon as possible, they look like theyre reading an invisible book- or reading their own thoughts. You and Shuichi were watching 'Who's Line is it Anyway' ...shut up-I like that show, and they were doing a very good job (they usually do)(and I say shut up because... you're in Japan... There's practically no way you can get that show there in reality). Shuichi laughed at the funny part then quickly glanced at you, for you didn't laugh. His position shifted when he saw you 'deep in thought' and put his legs on the couch. He 'accidentally' nudged your ankle with his foot. You acted as if that's what brought you out of your thinking daze and snapped your head up and smiled at the TV. Shuichi relaxed a little, but even though you laughed, he still glanced at you nervously and suspiciously. You let out a long drawn out sigh and look out the window dreamily and yawn. You hop up from the couch and head down the hall, "Where are you going?" You raise an eyebrow and look at Shuichi, you glanced back and forth, "The bathroom..." Shuichi slightly blushed but nodded, you laughed quietly and headed into the bathroom and locked the door. Beast had already sensed your playful and mischievous actions and quietly woofed scoldingly- but was clearly amused in his eyes as you hop out of the bathroom window and land next to him and rub his ears and grin. "Tell him when he goes to check on me in the bathroom, don't forget that you're supposed to be in the backyard!" Beast wagged his tail furiously and licked you then dashed around the side of the house and in the backyard. You can't help but laugh to yourself as you dash down the rode and head towards the local gardens in this area. You have been here before and absolutely loved it, you even discovered your own little obstacle courses- hey, I never said you weren't athletic! It had taken you 3-5 minutes to get here- running as fast as you were and you waited catching your breath and kept your eyes on the hill for Shuichi...
Shuichi's POV
I shifted uncomfortably, it has been a while since she came back... 6 minutes to be exact and I glanced at the bathroom door nervously. I stiffened and my eyes widened as I heard Beast barking with worry. I ran around to the backyard and was nearly pounced to the ground by frantic Beast. He whined and barked and kept motioning to outside. Then shock, fear, and even a little irritation shot through me and I raced to the bathroom and pounded on the door... only to get no answer. I swiftly picked the lock and opened the door... to my horror, the window was open and _____ was nowhere to be seen. I threw my shoes on and raced out the door, caught _____'s scent and followed it down the rode as fast as possible... After what seemed like an eternity, I saw her... at the local garden, sitting on the stone sign and swinging her legs. I wanted to run over and punch the girl who went to my school! Not _____! Of course not! But one of my 'fans' waved at me and yelled, "HI SHUICHI!!" My face went pale as _____s head shot up and her eyes widened as she stared at me. And I dashed towards her...
Normal POV
Luckily a little fan of Shuichi's arrived and yelled hi to him, you weren't paying much attention. Your face dropped and stared in horror as he zeroed in on you. You jumped off of the cold stone and dashed further into the garden as he charged you. "_____! Get back here this instant!" You didn't respond, just ran faster. He managed to chase you into a dead end, but that wall would be easy to vault over and lead you strait into the Lover's Maze. You glanced behind you as you 'took the bait' and saw Shuichi had a calm expression, and then there was the wall. Your speed increased and you allowed a huge rush of adrenalin to run through you and you leaped over the wall gracefully. You jogged a little away from the spot and put your hands on your knees as you recovered your breath. You couldn't help but laugh and you admired the wall that you just jumped in one bound. You started from the bottom and looked up to the top... only to see Shuichi hop on top of that easily and quickly look at you.

(I know, it was the only pic I could find that was closest to this scene, just pretend that it was the sky darkening as you stared at him in horror... now it's a VERY dramatic pic, isn't it? If that doesn't work just pretend that the sky is lighter n' stuff.... and if THAT doesn't work, just stare at Shuichi and see how pretty he is then continue reading.)
You couldn't hide the grin and you waved, ".....hi!" A little scream escaped your lips as he jumped off towards you and you both raced through the maze... you had to lose him some how, but for some reason he was able to follow you with ease- even if you were out of sight. A gate is in your way- blocking the section of the maze only opened at night... it was extremely tall and had about 2- 3 feet underneath it. Shuichi most likely memorized the maze for he yelled, "Your trapped ____!" "Oh no Im not!" You laughed at Shuichi's slightly deepened voice, you guessed he was trying to sound manly. You raced toward the fence and quickly dropped to the ground on your back and skidded underneath the fence, ignoring the slight pain. You didn't bother to wait to see if Shuichi was shocked or able to do it, he was already doing such a good job on keeping up with you so you decided to take advantage of what you had. Though, you did glance behind you to see Shuichi smirking- obviously liking this game, but you could have sworn his eyes were golden and not green...
No One's POV ~RR a bit~
As Shuichi chased after you, and a deep, ancient (AND SEXY!!!) voice went through his mind. "*chuckle* And I thought I had seen it all! Girls usually chase you and here you are chasing them!" "Your thoughts are mistaken Yoko... I need her to stay home, she's been through a lot and she hasn't fully healed yet!" "Healed? From what?" Shuichi bitterly ran the disgusting memories of what had happened with you and Isaak and Yoko remained silent for a minute. After the silence, Yoko spoke up, "Catch up, I want to see her..." "I'm trying... I just don't understand why she'd run away!" Yoko chuckled as Shuichi caught up to see you resting against a fountain statue catching your breath- you saw Shuichi and squeaked, clearly impressed and amused- and it showed in your eyes as you dashed away and back further into the maze. Yoko was still chuckling when Shuichi finally asked, "What is it?" "Ooooh she's a feisty and playful one!" and he laughs. Shuichi is confused and asked, "What?" again. Yoko calmed himself down a little, "Heh, well, she never intended to run away, she just wants to play!" Realization shot through Shuichi's mind and he sighed, but couldn't hold in the competitive grin as he gained. A slightly perverted grin shot across Yoko's face as he looked your running figure up and down and stared at your butt. Yoko's grin turned into a scowl as you got the better of them and got ahead. Yoko understood though that Shuichi was out of breath. "Allow me to take over for now..." Before Shuichi could object or agree, Yoko took over Shuichi's body, strength ran through him as he bolted after your scent. Yoko's male kitsune instinct slightly took over- this was just like what all the male foxes did when they were trying to impress the females. Catching the female was the first part, then showing that you were dominant, and after she saw your speed, agility, and control, you would have to show off your charm and strength. That's where fighting other males came in and growling and purring at the desired female to woo her. His grin widened as he remembered this route and knew that you two were going strait into a fenced area- the entrance to the Nightfall Maze. "You're trapped _____!" Yoko licked his lips at the taste of your name. "Oh no I'm not!" he purred when you responded. As he dashed around the corner, he saw you running at the gate with full speed and skid underneath and glance back at him as you ran around the corner out of sight.
Normal POV
You dashed through another maze blindly and found- what you thought- was the exit. You froze at the arch and saw that you were in the heart of Night Fall Maze. You gasped as you heard running footsteps getting closer and you darted into the little meadow. You raced over to a huge, hollowed out log and hid in it. You grin and try to control your breathing as the golden eyed Shuichi ran into the meadow and slowed to a stop. You guessed that this was a different personality... the golden eyed Shuichi and the emerald eyed Shuichi. You liked the golden eyed Shuichi a lot too, he seemed a lot more playful. You gazed at him in wonder as he stealthily walked to the center of the meadow and sniffed the air. You got to your hands and knees quietly, getting ready to lunge out of the log as he followed your scent to the log. When you saw him step behind you, you shot your legs out- knocking him off his feet, and you high-tailed out of there. You laughed as you heard Shuichi's ass hit the ground and stared at you shocked, but smirked and got to his feet. He then raced after you and you dashed around the small lake- leaving him on the opposite side. You and golden eyed Shuichi kept your eyes on each other as you both panted. You didn't want to stop too long and allow him to catch his breath so you began to move toward the small forest of cherry-blossomed trees. Shuichi saw your intentions, smirked, and took a step in the same direction as you... You glanced around, slightly troubled, he had just as much of an advantage as you did and disadvantage. Shuichi chuckled, "Are you trapped my little fox?" You looked around a little more and slightly smirked, "Only as much as you are my friend..." Shuichi grinned, rather impressed and kept a close watch on you and what you were looking at. You remembered suddenly that there was a small river behind you and it had a bridge going across it, also there was another little cherry blossom tree forest and the two largest trees were on either side of the river and their huge branches touched each other. You relaxed and pretended to be in defeat and Shuichi smirked and took one step towards you, his eyes widened- startled, as you spun around and dashed across the bridge and towards the forest. You couldn't help but laugh at his expression- which had turned into a slight scowl, but turned back into it's playful and competitive self. You dashed up the huge tree and he ran to it and stopped at the trunk while you looked down at him. He grinned back at you, "Do you give up my little fox maiden?" you shook the branch that was above him and the little pink flowers fluttered around him and some landed on his hair and face. You kept yourself from swooning- considering that was a gorgeous and romantic scene and giggled. You grinned down at Shuichi "Never! And it's 'wolf maiden' to you fox boy!" He smirked seductively as he stared at you, unfazed by your attack, "My apologies my little wolf." You slightly blushed, but was happy that the bridge was pretty far away, the river was at least 8-10 across and it moved pretty quickly and you knew it was deep. You smirked and you quickly dashed across the branch and to the other and dropped on the other side of the river and you laughed. Shuichi only smirked as his gold eyes had a small glint in them. Your eyes widened as he ran and jumped over the river. An excited and startled scream escaped your lips as he landed on the ground 5 feet from you and you spun around and dashed away. Shuichi didn't hesitate to run after you and he gained. You dashed around trees and logs in hope of slowing him down- but alas, it only kept him from gaining on you fastter. You gasped and slightly screamed as you were tackled to the ground. Your laughter was muffled by the thick layer of fallen cherry blossoms on the ground and Shuichi laughed with you. You both caught your breath and you both lay on the ground tired, you laughed again and looked over your shoulder, "Shuichi get off! *laugh* youre crushing me!" Shuichi only smirked and took some of his weight off of you and you slid out from underneath him and lay on your back. "God, I'm gonna be sore in the mornin'!" Shuichi only chuckled and lay down next to you and you both stared up at the trees. You looked over at Shuichi who looked back and slightly blushed. You could tell the normal Shuichi was back when your eyes met his green ones. You grabbed a handful of flowers and threw them in his face and he laughed and threw some back at you. So you two threw flowers at each other for quite a while- almost an hour actually for the game also turned into a combination of hide and go seek tag. You both had flowers on your clothes and all stuck up in your hair, but you didn't really care. You were running away from Shuichi and found another huge tree and climbed up and hid among the flowers. You rested there and yawned quietly- next thing you knew, you were asleep.

Shuichi's POV
We were throwing flowers at each other and playing tag when she escaped my sight. It was very difficult to follow her scent because she was smothered in cherry blossoms. I finally was able to catch a whiff of her lovely scent and I followed it to the oldest Cherry Tree. I looked up and saw the color of her clothes through all the flowers and branches. I climbed up quickly and quietly to find her asleep. She was absolutely breathtaking, and the flowers only added to her divine beauty. Yoko was asleep with his tail slightly wagging. I just rolled my eyes- he had no right to chase then tackle her, or to think all of those perverted thoughts! I shook my head and I climbed up beside her and lifted her into my lap to make her more comfortable... A nap didn't sound too bad. I buried my face in her soft hair and fell asleep.
