I've always tried to follow my heart over my head, I act on impulse. It's a personality fault I guess. But I do what I want to do when I want to do it. Even if it seems crazy to someone else, dumb even but I do it for me or Katie.
I stormed out the house and drove to the airport and brought a ticket to England. I then remembered I didn't have any luggage. I'll buy stuff there. I walked through security and onto the plane. I put my sidekick on plane mode and listened to music from it.
I woke up as we landed. I got off the plane and jumped into a cab and told the guy the address of Katie's house. He drove there and I paid him. I stood at the gates and smiled at the guard at the gate. He opened the gate recognising me. I walked up to the house and knocked on the door.
"I'm coming Matt!" I heard Katie yell.
She flung the door open. She was wearing jeans that hung loosely from her hips exposing the top of her boxers. She was wearing a black strap top and her hair was in two low bunches. Her mouth fell open as she realised it was me at the door.
"Pete" she said breathlessly "why are you here?"
I rubbed the back of my neck and shrugged.
"Come in" she said opening the door.
I walked in and she led me into her wardrobe room.
"We can talk whilst I do this" she said as she carried on putting stuff from her suitcase into her many draws and hangers. I sat on the island in the middle cross legged.
"I'm sorry" I mumbled
"For what?" she asked folding up a black top and placing it in a drawer
"Coming unexpectedly like this" I said flipping my sidekick around in my hands
"What happened Pete?" she asked
"Ashlee, you, me, Parker...the world...fame...money" I sighed "life happened"
"Pete tell me what's wrong" she stopped what she was doing and walked over to the Island and rested her arms either side of my legs
"I don't know what to do anymore" I sighed "everyone wants a piece of me. I don't know who to believe. I don't know what to do. I don't know who truly cares."
"Pete" she sighed "I don't know"
She reached up and hugged me. I closed my eyes. All too soon the hug was over. She pulled away but carried on looking at me.
Kiss her
I leaned in, so did she.
"Dad!" Parker yelled
We jumped away from each other as if we had been electrocuted
"hey Parker" I smiled at him and jumped down next to him and hugged the little boy
"I thought you weren't coming back with us" Parker smiled at me
"Well, I had an argument with Ashlee" I told him, he grinned
"Yeay!" He did a dance making Katie laugh
"Parker go show your dad your room" she told him
Parker grabbed my hand and dragged me out the room.
Katie's POV
I watched as Pete was lead out the door. I walked to the door and closed it. I slid down it and sat on the floor. I put my fingers on my lips and sighed. Damn you Pete Wentz, all I want to do is hate you instead of loving you.
I stood up and started unpacking. My sidekick rang.
"Hello" I answered and sat on the chair
"Hey Baby Girl it's me" Matt said
"Hey Matty, why aren't you here yet?" I asked
"Maxine won't let me leave till I nail this note" he told me "I don't think I can make it babe"
"Its ok Matty" I told him "Pete's here anyway, he can keep me company"
"Pete? As in Pete who broke your heart Pete?" He asked
"Yea, and I'm pretty sure he wants to mend it." I sighed dreamily "and I might let him"
"Katie" Matt tutted "that's not a good idea"
"I know" I nodded even though he couldnt see me "but it's what I want. I'm going to act on impulse again"
"Katie" Matt warned
"Bye Matty. Love you" I put the phone down and walked out the room as I had finished
