Bitten [Chapter 1] ~Vampire Story~
Chapter 9 : Bitten [Chapter 8] {Remorse}

------
Recap: My hand trembled as I watched the book case fall over. I gulped backing away and watched him lay there, passed out.
I'm... I'm a monster... I'm a vampire...
****
I didn't even notice I was running out of the trashed store until I was knocking into people while I ran down the now crowded sidewalk. If I had a heart that was working, it would have been beating like crazy as I ran back to the cemetery. I managed to slow down as I got through the gate and fell to the ground. I trembled all over as I dropped the book I was holding. I comepletely forgot that I was holding it as my shaking hands moved up to my face. It was still all lumpy. Anger filled my body suddenly as I grabbed the book and got up.
Why is this happening to me? I didn't do anything wrong!!
Angrily I stormed over to the crypt I had walked out of not even an hour before. I swung the door opened and marched over to the guy who was lying on the closed tomb. He sat up and looked over at me as I grabbed him by the shirt and pulled him off.
"Woah!" He yelled, as I slammed him against the wall, dropping the book.
"Undo it!" I yelled at him.
"What the hell are you talking about?" He asked angrily as he grabbed my hands and pulled them off his shirt.
"You have to undo this. I don't want to be a vampire!"
"Hey, I didn't make you into a vampire. Go yell at the vampire that sired you"
A stood there for a few seconds. "Sired?..." I asked him in confusion, losing my anger slowly.
He looked over at me, annoyed.
"The vampire who sired you is the vampire that made you into a vampire" He explained.
I stood there, confused.
Why would Jannis want to make me into a vampire? Last night I remember her being really angry and that she wanted to kill me... not bring me back as a vampire... was it an accident?... could you sire someone on accident?
As I tried to think I didn't even notice to guy was standing in front me. Startled, I looked up at him and backed away a little.
"Why are you even here? I see those idiot humans haven't killed you. Just come to yell at me for no reason?" He asked.
"Yell for no reason?" I asked with a scoff. "I'm yelling because this isn't what I wanted. I don't want to be dead. I certainly don't want to be a vampire, look at me. Look at my face..." I looked at his face and then brushed my hand against my own face. "Wait.. why arn't you all bumpy like me?"
He sighed while shaking his head.
"First of all, were the undead and your face is all bumpy cause you still don't know how to control that" He told me like I was the stupidest person in the world.
"Well.. how do I control it?"
He scoffed and crossed his arms.
"You really think I want you to survive? I've known you for about an hour and I can hardly stand you, and you want me to teach you how to live forever?"
"Uh. Forever?" I asked, ignoring his comment on wanting me dead.
"Wow, you've never seen or learned anything about vampires have you?" He asked.
I shook my head and he let out a big sigh. He was about to say something, but he stopped and looked over at the book I dropped. I completely forgot about it again. He picked it up and looked over at.
"What's this?" He asked as he opened it and started looking through it.
"Oh!" I grabbed the book from him remembering what Henry said.
My symbol... he said it was in here...
Quickly I skimmed through the pages as the guy watched me.
"Okay then..." He said as he walked back over to the tomb I pulled him off of.
He jumped up and sat on it as I slowly stopped turning the pages and looked down at the thick bolded symbol that was drawn. It was the symbol on my hand. I looked down at the writing.
It's called the Remorse? That's weird. It's a symbol that many black magic conjures?! Said to... protect the voice within... to protect the conscience... my conscience? Also to protect the soul? My soul?!
"Hey, isn't that the thing that's on your hand?" The guy asked from behind me, making me jump and drop the book.
I had totally forgotten that he was even there.
"U-Uh yeah" I answered as I watched him pick up the book and read the same page I had.
"Humm" He said, making me look over at him in confusion.
"What?" I asked.
"I thought something was weird" He mumbled, not answering my question.
"What does that mean? Protecting my conscience.. my soul? How can this protect that? How can anything?!" I asked impatiently.
"It's obvious you got that from magic. You didn't know that? What, did you fall asleep when you got it?" He asked, throwing the book over at me.
"No! ... well... okay I might have fainted. Just a little... but... what does this mean?"
"It means even though your a vampire you still have your soul and your conscience. No wonder your so annoying. When I was first turned into a vampire I knew what I had to do. It was this feeling in my gut."
My stomach growled as he said gut.
"Haven't you eaten anyone late-. Ah, that's right you have a soul. Guess your going to starve to death" He grinned.
"What?! Don't you feel bad when you eat people?"
He shook his head with an evil smile.
"That's horrible!" I yelled at him angrily.
"Hey, it's not my fault humans taste so good. They eat pigs and other animals don't they?"
I went silent, until my stomach growled again.
What should I do now? I could probably go back to my apartment... no... too far... my face is messed up.. and I don't want to hurt anymore people...
"How about..." The guy said, breaking my thoughts, "We make a deal"
"A deal? What kind?"
"I'll help you out" He said and my face brightened up.
"Reall-" I as about to say until he interrupted me with a,
"But, you have to do some errands for me" He smirked.
"L-Like what?" I asked, losing my happiness.
"Like getting me food when I want it, going to a few business trips around the town"
"Business trips? Vampires have business trips?"
"Do you agree?" He asked, not answering.
I haven't known this... thing long and I can still tell he's not a type of person I want to hang around... crap why did I have to barge in here all hulk mode?... should I take the deal? If I leave here I have no where to go... my family thinks I'm dead... my friends think I'm dead...
"Well, then get out" He said, turning around as I stood there thinking.
"No! No, wait. I'll... I'll make the deal with you"
He turned back around and held out his hand. Looking down at his hand as I slowly took it, it was weird seeing the veins on his hands. It was weird knowing nothing was flowing through them.

"SHIT!" Nick yelled as Jannis and the blonde haired vampire jumped at him and Jane, leaving Kenny there stunned.
Jane and Nick landed on the ground with insane vampires on top of them.
"Help!!" Jane screamed as the blonde vampire forced her down.
Nick looked up at Jannis. Her eyes were wild like the night before. He couldn't believe his best friend was once again trying to end his life. He didn't even know if the Jannis he knew was still in there, if she was ever coming back. Kenny quickly grabbed one of her legs and began prying her away from Nick. Jane's screams ran threw their ears like nails scratching down a chalkboard as Jannis kicked Kenny in the face. He stumbled back and landed on the ground, holding his face in pain. Nick grabbed Jannis's shoulder's angrily and tried to get her off of him. She seemed to be stronger than before. Jane managed to grab the cross she dropped and shove it at the vampire's.
"AH" He yelled, grabbing his face and falling off of her.
Jane managed to get up and looked over at Jannis as she leaned down towards Nick's neck.
"Get away!" She yelled, running at them.
Nick watched as Jane roughly pushed Jannis's off. Jannis landed beside Nick as Jane fell on top of him.
"Die!" Kenny yelled, holding up a stake and jumping at Jannis, who was now quickly getting up.
"S-Sorry" Jane told Nick as she got off of him and helped him up.
They both looked over in fear as Jannis angrily shoved Kenny to the ground again. Jane quickly grabbed Nick's arm as the blonde haired vampire got up with a big burnt mark across his bumpy face.
"Henry got to them too! Look what she did to my face!" The guy complained to Jannis.
"Shut up! Look what that bitch Reila did to mine!" She yelled at him, pointing to the burn mark she got from the other night.
Quickly Nick got out his cross and Jane held up hers too.
"Come on Jan, lets just eat some kittens. These humans are annoying me" He growled, backing away from Nick and Jane.
Kenny reached in his pocket, still lying on his back, and got out his cross as well.
Jannis let out a sigh and rolled her eyes.
"Fine, but were killing them soon or later" She told him as she backed up as well.
Jane, Nick, and Kenny walked the two defeated vampires walk off away from them. Breathing hard, they all looked over at each other. Jane let go of Nick as Nick helped Kenny from the ground.
"Now. Didn't I tell you that was a bad idea?" Nick laughed with several coughs afterwards.
"Well we found out nothing. That was a complete waste of time!" Jane complained.
"No. We now know Jannis didn't take her body" Kenny told them, trying to defend himself.
"Then... who did?" Jane asked them and they all went silent.
Nick suddenly thought of something. Something he wished he didn't think of.
"Reila can't be... she.. she can't be a... vampire right?" Nick asked them.
Kenny and Jane slowly looked over at each other and began laughing, which scared Nick with their sudden craziness.
"Reila? A vampire?" Jane laughed, almost falling over.
****
"So what's the first thing I should know since I'm a... vampire?"
Asking that seemed weird to me still. I watched as the guy suddenly started looking at me weirdly as he began to circle me. I suddenly realized I didn't even know his name.
"Before we start this, what ever this is, what's your name?" I asked, watching him.
He slowly came to a stop.
"Frankie" He told me.
A laugh came out and I quickly covered my mouth.
"What's so funny?!"
"N-Nothing. It's... just my old dog's name was Frankie and.. he was really stupid"
I couldn't help myself. I just started laughing. Frankie stood there, annoyed and rolling his eyes.
"You know, I really wish you were a human right now" He mumbled angrily as I slowly stopped myself.
"I'm, I'm sorry. My name is Reila"
"Yeah, great" He said sarcastically as he started to circle me again.
I was about to comment on his annoying circling when he suddenly grabbed my shoulders.
"Lesson one, you always have your weapon with you. You just need to learn out to use it"
My eyes widened as I watched him. Without barely moving his face suddenly changed into the lumpy vampire face I had on.
"H-How'd you do that?" I stuttered.
He grinned at me, and I could see his fangs.
Do I look scary like that?
I reached up and felt my face. I wasn't lumby anymore. Before I could do anything else he tightened his grip on my shoulders, throwing me over towards the wall. I looked up at him angrily as I held my head which knocked into the wall a little.
"What's you problem?! Your suppose to help me not injure me you jerk!" I yelled, wanting to throw him into a wall.
"I've noticed that you only turn when your angry" He told me with an evil glare in his eye.
When I'm angry?
I felt my face to find that it was all lumpy again. I looked back at him, still angry.
"You could have told me that without throwing me into a wall!" I yelled at him as I got up.
"Well, you know know"
"Ooooh so to use this I just have to throw myself into a wall, yeah, thanks"
I looked down at my ugly dress.
At least it knocked off some of the dirt...
"Can we move on to lesson two? So I don't break anything?" I asked, rubbing my head.
"We heal fast, and it's going to be morning soon so we can't bother with lesson two" He told me, walking over to the tomb.
"You sleep on that?"
"No, I sleep in it" He told me as he lifted the top and climbed inside.
"Hey! We can't go outside right? Where am I going to sleep? Um... not in there... with you right?" I asked.
I could hear him scoff as he lay down.
"If you wanna turn to dust you can go sleep outside, I heard it's lot of fun" He told me, grabbing the top.
I quickly walked over and pulled it back.
"Look, we have a deal" I told him angrily.
"I know, just go over there away from the window" He smirked, looking up at me.
I spotted a blanket beside him and grabbed it.
"Hey!" He yelled, but I quickly pulled it out and closed the top.
I looked at the raddy blanket as I walked away from the window. I sat down and looked over at the window. The sun sat far away behind the lighted sky of the morning.
How can I sleep?
****
Nick stood there staring at the sun that was slowly rising into the sky. He was standing on Reila's balcony, trying to think. He looked over as Jane passed him a cup of tea.
"You still think she could be out there, as a vampire?" She asked him, worried.
"It's the only thing I can think of" He sighed, turning towards her.
He looked over into Reila's bedroom where Kenny was sleeping. As soon as they got to Reila's apartment he fell asleep.
"If she is... I don't think I want to know" He told Jane, looking back at her blue eyes.
"Why not?"
"She'll be just like Jannis is... a ruthless thing... I can hardly see Reila as that and I never want to"
"Then... what are we going to do? There must be tons of vampires all over town by now"
Slowly he turned back towards the sky that toward over the town.
"We'll kill them. We'll kill them all"
