Rock-star-ism, meet Allea Diederich, Allea Diederich, meet your doom.
Well, I'm Allea Diederich. You say my name uh lee uh. I hate it. I really want to get it changed. But I'm not allowed to do that yet, as I'm only seventeen, and just turned. I'm this young, and I'm already famous with my band across the world. America, Canada, Spain, France, China, Australia, Germany, Japan, Israel, etcetera - You name a country, we're probably pretty decently known. I've seen my face in various places. Especially on YouTube, and the videos in multiple languages. It's very enjoyable sometimes.
But I never thought I'd be mobbed for being famous
In Brazil
We're a band called "Traumatic", and like I just complained about, we're world famous. I guess this means that we should learn to speak the languages of the world. We've decided each of the four of us should learn two. I got first dibs, and chose German and Spanish - Mostly because I already know them. My father is German entirely, so I grew up speaking it in bits and pieces. Then, before I dropped out of school to play this rock star game, I was fluent in Spanish.
So, my band mates go as follows Tea is the bassist, Cyla is the guitar player, and Valerie is the drummer, who always complains she has the least cool name. I've known her and Tea since I moved to the sleepy suburb of Websterdon, New York. It was a suburb of the much larger city, Rochester, which is why it says we're from there on every available website. I met Cyla in fifth grade in the very same little place in the world. We were the biggest there, too, because we were from there. But, that's a tangent. The four of us are the best of friends, and I could never be any closer with anybody else than them.
Tea's my hair-dying buddy, my musical mirror, the person I have ten million inside jokes with at least, and my very closest friend in the entire world. When we met, I hated her, but I pretended to like her. And then I learned that she was the most amazing person in the world. It was her and I who came up with this silly little band idea in the first place. It was sixth grade, right after Christmas, and we were bored, and we joked about it. But then we made it a reality. She learned the bass, and I utilize the vocal talents I've always had. A stupid idea turned into a giant thing. Everyone thinks we're going to be these pompous little pop tarts, and then we prove them incredibly wrong. Whenever her and I are together, there's basically nobody who isn't laughing, or calling us idiots.
Cyla is basically my clone. And that's not good. She copies everything I could ever imagine doing. No matter what band I like, no matter what style of clothing I'm in to, or what my latest hobby is, she absolutely insists on doing it. I mean I understand that she had a hard childhood (she was abused, and her parents abandoned her at thirteen to live with her aunt). I get sick of her too easily. She wanted to be the back up singer, but we voted and it came down to a three-to-one vote that it should be Tea. And it is, which I'm glad for, because she's better. Cyla has no originality to her. I love her with all my heart and everything, but if this were Survivor, I'd vote her off first.
Valerie. I love this girl. I met her at the exact same moment as I met Tea, and I, in a sense, stole her best friend a little bit. But the three of us are the closest, and we have the most fun together. She's fun to pick on, because she tries all these ridiculous things. Like she enjoys speaking French with her mouth full of food. She sounds ridiculous, but we all love her. Her and Tea together are the definition of insanity. The three of us together basically equals suicide. Cyla tries to get involved, but she's usually being a little emotional ball. I listen to her after we ignore her for a little while.
Right now, I'm sitting on our fairly sized tour bus, headed to New York City John F. Kennedy international airport to kick off our European tour. Tea is dying my hair as best she can while the bus is moving. Naturally, it's a medium shade of brown, which I added black lowlights to. I was going to redo the lime highlights, but I did that for the tour we just wrapped up here. Now we're going to Europe and Asia for a release tour there. We JUST got big, and already, were wanted worldwide. This is going to drive me nuts for the next ten or so years.
Tea swore as the bus turned and got dye on the shirt we shared to dye each other's hair. I dye hers more than she dyes mine, but I digress. I like to dye it. The only color Valerie does is blond streaks in her chocolate hair, and Cyla's aunt told her that should she ever see her on TV or if she comes home with streaks or entirely dyed hair, she "gets murdered, grounded for a year, and can't go on tours". I didn't know she could tour after she was killed
I got to wash out the color in my hair in the airport's bathroom sink, because we ran out of time. We had to do it quickly before our plane left for Germany. I forget which city we're flying into, but I know we have quite a few German shows. I also have no clue what band we're touring Europe and Asia with. But I hope they're cool. They have to be we'll be together for three months.
We had to get airport security before we could even leave the freaking bathroom! They realized it was Tea and I, and assumed that Cyla and Valerie were near by, and we got mobbed. So, to make us even less conspicuous, they got ten security guys to come after we briefly said hello to the fans who were disappointed that we had to leave, but understood. We had the guards give out tickets that you could fill out for when we announced our next Americanada tour (which is what we call tours in America and Canada), which distracted the mob of people while we escaped through the gate twenty feet away.
The landing strip was MUCH easier to navigate. We saw a couple of landing strip men on break who's wives or children were fans and asked if we could sign something or take a picture or two. We agreed to it, because four plane directors were easier to deal with than more than two hundred crazed fans.
Finally, as soon as we were all settled into our plane with our manager, we began our God only knows how long of a flight to Germany.
About three hours into the flight, I was on my laptop talking to a few loose friends from back at home, when Cyla had the brain to ask a question that all of us should have asked as soon as we were told a week ago that we were going on this tour.
"So, Lisa, who are we touring with, anyway?" she asked, flipping between two Invader Zim episodes.
"I was waiting for one of you to ask this. You're going to be touring with a band from Magdeburg, Germany. They're called Tokio Hotel, and they consist of Bill Kaulitz, Tom Kaulitz, Georg Listing, and Gustav Schafer. Bill and Tom are twins, and they're eighteen, Georg is twenty, and Gustav is nineteen. They're amazingly nice guys. Bill organized the tour because he's a huge fan of you girls, and he's recently gotten the other three into you. But he's been a big fan ever since the first single hit Europe. When he heard we were looking into doing a European tour, he got in contact with us personally and told us that he loves you girls and wondered if him and Tokio Hotel could take you out on it. We agreed for you." Lisa explained, pulling out her laptop.
I looked to Tea. "I feel bad. This guy is a big fan of us and I've never even heard of his band."
"Well then come here. I have their latest music video pulled up. I was going to show it to you four before we landed, because I'd figured as such." Lisa grinned as she clicked a video link on YouTube.
A page loaded, and across the top of a video square read "Tokio Hotel Ubers Ende Der Welt".
"What the heck, is that Jared Leto?" I asked as soon as a male started singing in army drag. Jared Leto was in a band I like called 30 Seconds To Mars, and the guy singing looked like Jared. "His hair and face match Jared Leto perfectly."
"Nope, that one's Bill. Later in the video he looks more like his own person. His hair's usually done up in some crazy fashion of sorts." Lisa explained. The video drew on, and by the last chorus, I was bouncing around and dancing. I really like these guys, and I'm shocked I haven't heard of them before.
"Kay well it's safe to say that Allea likes them judging by her crappy dance moves, and if she does, Tea does. I think they're okay, even though I don't understand a word they're saying. Cyla?" Valerie asked after the video finished.
"I think they're decent. I dont like them, I don't hate them." Cyla said, hurrying back over to the couch, as not to be bothered.
"Can we see a picture of them? Because the video was kind of at strange angles." Tea asked, leaning her head on my shoulder. I was about five ten, and she was five eight. I was her headrest. Lisa adapted a skeptical face as she clicked onto her desktop, where a fitted picture of this same band was set as the wallpaper. I scanned the boys in the picture, and stopped at the third one.
"Okay am I going to be the only one who thinks that Bill is incredibly cute?" I asked more than willingly.
"Yes." Tea and Valerie said at the same time, which was in tune with when Lisa turned around to look me in the eyes.
"No cross-band relationship, missy." She warned me already.
"Why not!" I exclaimed my question just loud enough to make Cyla turn from the TV for a second.
"Because. It just wouldn't be a good idea. If you two date, I see multiple issues with it. It wouldn't be good because you live fourteen hours by plane away from him. Besides, if you break up, things might be really awkward, especially if you find a way around the distance barrier. If you date for long enough, things could get strange. And we can't afford you guys having a falling out with Tokio Hotel. They're basically the Fall Out Boy of Germany, and they're pretty big all over Europe and Asia. If they don't like you, Europe and Asia probably won't like you, and you'll lose half your fan base. Besides, they can bring you all over the place. Who else would you go with on tour if you don't go with Tokio Hotel? The only other big German band even remotely close to your genre of music is Rammstein, and they're music giants. We tried contacting them but they never even wrote us back. I don't want things to get weird, and I don't want you guys to lose out on money." Lisa explained herself in a very worked up manner. I'd obviously sent her into frenzy.
"But Lisa!" I tried, but she stopped me.
"Allea going out with Bill Kaulitz would never work out and would jeopardize the success of your band. That's not what you want. Date any rock star you want to in America, but you will not be dating Bill Kaulitz while you're in this band and that's final." She was angered now, I could tell.
So, I crossed my arms in a huff, grabbed my laptop, moved to the back of the plane, and sat looking up Tokio Hotel songs until I fell asleep.
