Chapter 27
-Later that night-

“So what was it?” asked Mikey when Jesse was finished explaining what had happened to Schuyler. The girls had just gone home and now the guys and Schuyler were sitting around a bonfire.
“I’m not sure, but I think because Schuyler is a beloved, she may have the power to read the minds or communicate with people thousands of miles away. We discovered this because she hadn’t fed in so long, heightening her senses.” Jesse explained.
“Wow… that’s pretty crazy.” Mikey rubbed his chin.
“Did the girls suspect anything?” Jesse asked.
“Not that I could tell.” Gerard shrugged.
“We need to be more careful.” Schuyler sighed, finally lifting her head from her hands. “Kelsey is more perceptive then the rest.” Schuyler glanced at Lucien. “She’s beginning to put the pieces together, and we can’t risk that. We’ll need to be a little more careful.”
“What do you mean she’s more perceptive?” Lucien wondered.
“She’s seen and read almost every vampire book and movie out there. She knows most of the lore, enough to sort the true and the false, she’s beginning to put two and two together.” Schuyler explained.
“Well we can’t stop seeing them! I really like Tess a lot.” Ray went all Emo.
“She’s not saying you guys have to stop seeing them, we just have to be more careful about what we talk about and how we act.” Jesse explained. “There’s not much we can do about our pale skin, but I guess don’t run as fast, pretend to be a little weak sometimes?” Jesse guessed.
“I suppose we should all keep well fed too.” Mikey shook his head.
“Well then let’s go.” Frankie got up. “Let’s do it now so it doesn’t cut back on our time with them.”
So all the guys got up. “I’ll stay here and take care of some stuff, you guys go ahead.” Schuyler said to them.
“Are you sure Querida?” Jesse brushed Schuyler's bangs off her face.
“Yea, I fed earlier, you go.” She kissed him.
“Okay I’ll see you soon.” He gave her one last kiss and then ran ahead to catch up with the guys.
“Here we go.” Schuyler walked up to the tour bus and went inside to straighten up. When finally the tour bus was spotless, Schuyler pulled don a pair of ripped jeans, black sneakers, and a black hoodie, whipping her hair into a bun; she grabbed a trash bag and went back into the bunkroom. She began shoveling dirty clothes off the floor and into the bag. When all the dirty clothes had been gathered she called Kati.
“Hey Kati… it’s Schuyler.” Schuyler spoke into he phone.
“Oh hey! What’s up?” Kati asked.
“Could you come pick me up? The guys all went out and I need to do some laundry.” Schuyler asked.
“Sure! I’ll be right over… give me fifteen minutes.” Kati replied.
“Okay, thanks so much!”
“No problem… Bye” Kati hung up
Schuyler put the bags by the bus door and grabbed some money. Schuyler also scribbled a quick note in case the boys got back before she did.

Schuyler placed the note on a table and grabbed the bags just as she heard Kati pull up.
“Hey thanks for doing this.” Schuyler said as she piled trash bags into the trunk of Kati’s car.
“No problem, I needed to get out anyways.” Kati said as Schuyler got in.
“Haha, what do you mean?” Schuyler laughed.
“Everybody is going crazy! Anne is blasting music, Tess and Tricia are dancing around on the beds, Kelsey won’t shut the hell up about how amazing Lucien is, and Alexis is working out, because now not only does she want to be an anorexic twig with insane abs, now she wants insane biceps to go with them. There is waaaay to much estrogen in that house for me.” Kati rolled her eyes.
“Aww! The guys like them just as much, they’re all jumping up and down and wrestling each other and talking about how much they like you guys.” Schuyler laughed.
Kati started towards town, “So where are the guys now?” Kati Asked.
“Uh, they went out… for a guy talk… ya know?” Schuyler lied
“Oh, okay. I get it. Boys are so weird.”
*If only you knew.* Schuyler laughed to herself.
They arrived at the Laundromat and exchanged small talk about their pasts. Schuyler like Kati, she was pretty cool and they both had gone through a similar depression in their youths. Kati told Schuyler that she was a ballerina and began dancing around, and even though she was just messing around, Schuyler could see Kati had some mad skill.
“That’s the last of it!” Schuyler tied the final bag of clean, folded clothes.
“Sweet deal, Let’s roll.” Kati and Schuyler piled the bags into the trunk and Kati dropped Schuyler off at the bus. “Here I’ll help you carry these in.” Kati started to reach for a bag when the girls heard a door slam.
“KATI!” Mikey bounded towards them.
“Hey you!” Kati fell into his arms.
“Um… yea… I got these.” Schuyler awkwardly shuffled towards the bus with the clothes. “Hey babe” she kissed Jesse as she entered the bus. “Did you guys take care of business?”
“Yea, we’re all good now.” Jesse took the bags from her hands and led her to the bunkroom where they began putting the clothes away.
“Did you learn anything while you were with Kati?”
“Well, I did learn that the girls really, really, REALLY like the guys, Alexis some sort of body image/eating disorder, also Kati is a ballet dancer, and went through a rough time when she was younger. But that’s about it.” Schuyler sighed
“So basically nothing that can help us?” Jesse smiled and rolled his eyes.
“Basically- what was that?!” Schuyler exclaimed as she was cut off by unidentifiable high-pitched noises followed by what sounded like a stampede of hormonal elephants.
“I dunno, let’s go see.” Jesse and Schuyler ran out of the bus to fine a mass of people.
“Uh... we have visitors?” Ray said Sheepishly as he held Tess’s hand.
“Ahh, the gangs all here.” Schuyler laughed.
“Well, it’ wouldn’t be fair if only Kati got to hang out with her man.” Said Kelsey, seductively holding on to Lucien in a way Schuyler knew made him happy in the pants.
“Yeas, so there’s this lake a few miles up the road, and I’m getting pretty hott…” Frank began.
“Let’s go!” Alexis interrupted.
“But guys! I didn’t bring a bathing suit!” Tricia exclaimed.
“That’s the point.” Bob winked.
“Anyone who wants a bathing suit can borrow one of mine.” Schuyler rolled her eyes and Tess, Tricia, Anne and Schuyler trooped towards the bus.
“I’m not sure if I am or not, I’ll decide when I get there.” Anne decided as the three girls changed.
“It’s all good, don’t do anything you don’t want to do, it never ends well.” Schuyler offered. “All set.” The girls headed back out and everyone jumped into cars. Kati, Mikey, Schuyler, Jesse, Tricia, and Bob in one car; And Kelsey, Lucien, Alexis, Frank, Tess, Anne, and Gerard in the other, they all set off for the lake.
