Recap: "Where... w-where did he.. go?" I asked looking right at the spot the dead body was lying.

He's gone... how can a dead body just get up and walk away!?

Richard and I quickly made it back to the police station. My boss was not happy with the news we gave him. Well, he was never happy but he was angrier then usual. I managed to get out of his office, but Richard was stuck there.

Who would want a dead body? Maybe the person who killed him... god why does our police force suck so much here?

"Isn't that weird though? They all have holes in their necks and their all missing" I heard someone talking as I walked away from my boss's office.

I looked over to see Jane and Kenny talking. I've known them for a year already.

Maybe they know some things about what's going on...

"Their all missing?" I asked, walking over to them.

They both looked over at me.

"Oh, hey Reila. Yeah. Some pretty freaky stuff is going on around here..." Kenny started to say, but he quieted down.

Jane and him looked around and moved closer to me.

"What's wrong?" I asked them, worried.

"We have to tell you something.. but promise you wont think were crazy" Jane told me.

Crazy?

I slowly nodded, wondering what was going on.

"I've only told Jane this... but last night I saw this girl... and she... she flew! Like jumped! Really high, right over a house!" Kenny exclaimed in a whisper.

"Flew? Over a house?"

They both nodded.

"I thought he was going insane. He told me last night right after it happened, but when I was driving home I saw someone... they... they got hit by a car" Jane whispered.

"A car?!"

They both nodded again.

"And then the guy who got hit just got up and walked away.. without a scratch..." Jane gulped.

What are these two on?

I was going to slowly walk away, but I stopped myself.

"The guy I was suppose to photograph, the dead one.. he.. was gone" I told them,joining in.

"Gone?" They both asked me at the same time.

I nodded and we all looked at each other.

"What are you all whispering about?" Richard asked loudly, making us all jump.

"Nothing! God Richard, are you trying to give me a heart attack?" Jane asked him angrily.

Kenny pulled me away from them.

"Were all just going crazy right?" He asked me, worry was covering his words.

I sighed and shrugged. "I really don't know. All I do know is I'm going to get to the bottom of this"

"If you need any help with anything just let Jane and I know" He told me and I nodded.

"Can I help?" Richard asked, popping out of no where again and making us jump again.

I glared at him as my cell phone started ringing in my pocket. It was Nick.

"Have you heard anything?" I asked him as soon as I answered.

"No, nothing" He sighed.

I suddenly got an idea as I remembered what I just told Kenny. "Nick, were going to get to the bottom of this"

"How?"

"Pick me up at the police station and we'll go to Jannis's apartment again"

"Why? We already went there today, she wasn't there"

"Yeah, but maybe if we look around more we'll find some clues. Maybe on her answering machine. Maybe someone was threatening her?"

"So your saying we should go to Jannis's apartment and go through all her private things?"

"Well... Yes. Now are you in or out?"

I listened to his long sigh and grinned, knowing that I won.

"Fine. I'll come pick you up" We both hung up and I walked back over to Jane and Kenny, also Richard since he was still bugging them.

"I have to go, but I'll let you know if I find anything out" I told mostly Jane and Kenny.

"About what?" Richard asked.

"We will too" Jane told me, ignoring Richard.

Nick was there soon afterwards and off we went to Jannis's apartment. By the time we got there it had gotten really dark.

"Do you really think we'll find anything?" Nick asked me before we got out of his car.

"I... I'm really hoping. It might not seem like it, but I'm as worried as you are. I've known Jannis for almost all my life. How could she just disappear like this?" I asked him sadly.

I really felt like crying as I sat there thinking of all the times Jannis and I hung out.

"For the whole day I've just been telling myself she's okay. How would I know? I can't even find her" I told him, tears forming.

"Oh my god, Rei" Nick said in shock, looking through my window. "Is that Jannis?"

As soon as he said that my eyes darted over and I looked through the window to see a girl with long curly blonde hair and a guy with blonde hair walking out of Jannis's apartment.

Jannis?

I was about to open the door and run towards her, but I stopped myself and tried to look closer at her face.

"What's with the black clothes?" I whispered to Nick as she and the guy walked down the sidewalk away from us.

Her black leather pants looked super tight, same with her black top. The guy was wearing a blue shirt and black jeans.

"We have to follow them" I told Nick as they turned the corner and disappeared.

"Follow them? Are you insane? That was obviously not Jannis" Nick snorted.

"How do we know?! Maybe she's in some cult! We should at least just check out where their going. If they walk to a creepy castle place with the word 'CULT' written on a banner then at least we can try to save her!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah, Jannis is a goth whose now in a cult" Nick laughed sarcastically.

He stopped as he looked over and saw me glaring at him.

"You really want to follow them?"

"Yes. Now step on the gas and lets go!" I ordered him.

"Fine, but when you realize it isn't her, get ready for me to laugh in your face" He warned me, getting out of park and going into drive.

We went down the street and turned the same corner they did. I looked down the sidewalk to see we didn't lose them.

"You know this is completely insane" Nick commented after we followed the two people around for 20 minutes.

"Look, were heading for The Rabbit Hole" I told him, ignoring his comment.

We waited for the two people to walk in and then we parked. I hopped out of Nick's car and headed inside. Nick quickly followed me. Nick said something, but I could hardly hear him over the heavy metal band that was playing/screaming. I hit Nick's arm and pointed over at where the girl and the guy were. I moved closer, trying to see their faces. There was so many people dancing around. I got knocked into about ten times. I grabbed Nick's arm as I watched the guy get up and walk off towards the bar. I looked over at Nick.

"What?" Nick yelled.

Still I could barely even hear him.

"Follow him! I'll follow the girl!" I yelled at him.

He gave me a 'Your insane' look but did what I told him anyway. I looked back over at the girl to see she was still sitting at the table. I could only see the back of her head since she was sitting away from me.

Should I go over and talk to her? She looks just like Jannis...

My feet were about to move until a guy walked over to the girl. I had no idea who he was. I watched as the girl said something to the guy and he smiled. She got up and the guy followed her. Slowly I followed them as well. They went out the back door and I waited a few seconds until I followed them out. The air was colder then when Nick and I went in. I could still hear the music even though I was now outside. It just seemed muffled.

Damn! Which way did they go?

Looking right was one corner and looking left was another.

Left or right? Left or right?!... GAH RIGHT!

Quickly I sped off to the right end towards the corner. I slowed down as my cell phone started beeping.

Damn

I flipped it open and read the message.

From: Nick
To: Reila
This is so stupid. Was that girl even Jannis? Where did you even go? It's so loud in here. I'm leaving

I started walking again as I started to text him a reply.

From: Reila
To: Nick
No! Don't leave yet. I'm outside... I have to see if this girl is Jannis. You have to admit, she looks like her. I'll text you again before I come inside so we can find each other

I pressed sent just as I knocked into something. I hit it so hard I went flying back, letting go of my phone. I landed on my back, almost hitting my head. My phone smashed on the ground beside me.

What the hell did I just slam into? A wall!?

I slowly sat up to see someone's black boots. Someone was standing in front of me. I slowly looked up to see a guy wearing a long black trench coat and firey red hair. He looked down at me strangely.

Who is this guy?? A murderer?!

"S-Sorry about that" I told him, slowly getting up.

He didn't say anything. He just looked away from me boredly and walked off, not even asking if I was okay.

"Weirdo" I mumbled and looked around. "No!" I yelled as I looked down at my broken phone.

I knelt down and looked at all the little bits. I was going to try to pick them up, but the screaming interrupted my movements. I almost jumped out of my skin when I heard him scream for help. Gulping I looked over towards were it was coming from. It was coming from behind the corner.

What should I do? I can't just run off.

He screamed again and this time I quickly got up and walked towards his screaming. I didn't know what I was seeing at first. My eyes widened as I watched the girl that looked like Jannis hold on to the guy, her head close to his neck. He tried to push her away, but that wasn't working.

I can't let this guy be attacked!

"Hey!" I yelled at them.

I gulped as the girl's head slowly moved away from the guy and looked over at me. I couldn't believe my eyes. Blood was smeared all over her face, but that wasn't the shocking part. Her face. It was weird. It was all lumpy and her eyes were big and bluish. A grin spread across her face, and I could see what looked like fangs. Suddenly she moved her head slightly and her face cleared. She looked human. She looked just like Jannis.

What... the... fudge...
