Hayley's POV
I sighed as I grabbed the last thing out of my locker. It was the rose Ian had given me this morning for our one-month anniversary. I smelled it and smiled to myself. It was the last day of school, and I couldn't be happier.
"Bye, Hayley!" Vicky called, as she and Josh came walking down the mostly deserted hallway. I smiled at them. They looked so cute together, I found it hard to believe that they had once hated each other.
"Bye!" I called back.
"See you later for practice!" Josh called over his shoulder. I waved. I dumped all my old notebooks into a nearby trashcan and reached over to pick up my bag.
"Let me get it for you," Ian said, suddenly appearing at my side. I smiled and handed it over. He grabbed my hand as we headed down the hall.
"So what do you want to do?" I asked him.
"Whatever you want," he answered. Now that he was free of Delia, we really could. I had waited eight longs months, and this was worth it. I had him where I wanted him now.
I glanced over to see Delia standing nearby as we walked out the doors.
She glared at me.
I knew that she had had it out for me since then.
So what was I supposed to do?
Glare back?
Ignore her?
I contemplated this as we drew nearer and nearer to her.
I settled on smiling at her as we passed by.
My biggest smile.
She looked thrown off by it and kind of smiled uncertainly back, utterly confused.
What if we all just smiled at our enemies?
Her confusion made me smile even more, if possible.
What can I say?
It was never my intention to brag.
"It just feels so good."
This was a very short story.
Hope you liked it.
