One Piece: Prologue
Chapter 11 : One Piece: Chapter 10
The ship docked on the island. Luffy raised his hand to shield his eyes from the sun. "So. This is it?" He asked Klara.
"Yes. This is the island, but something's not right. Too many people." Klara remembered that the island's population used to be low. However, that has been years ago.
Zolo looked at Klara and noticed her worried look. "We can handle anything. Don't worry." He told her.
She looked down. "I know. Let's be rather quick about getting our supplies." She said.
"Why? We're in no hurry. Why not spend the night?" Sanji suggested.
Klara opened her mouth in protest, but Luffy grinned, "Yeah! Let's stay the night!"
Zolo caught Klara's eye and noticed that she looked worried. He gave her the 'what's wrong?' look. She smiled.
"Alright! Let's go!!!" Luffy raced off of the ship and onto the island's dock. Everyone had to run to keep up with him.
"Luffy! Slow down!" Usopp cried.
Luffy turned back. "What?" He asked.
Sanji panted, "Jeez, Luffy!"
Klara took the moment to consider the time it would take to get the supplies and get back to the ship. She might be able to talk the crew out of staying on the island for the night. Or, if she had to, she could make an excuse for leaving for a while. However, her hopes were shattered when she noticed several men watching them. Those men looked like trouble.
Zolo noticed them as well. "Klara? Friends of yours?" He whispered.
"No." She whispered back. Then she shrugged, "Probably think that this island is their terf."
"Should we be concerned?" Sanji asked, giving one of the men a threatening glance.
Klara sighed, "I don't know. I'd keep on your guard though."
"No problem." Zolo nodded. He glared at a man and continued walking. He didn't noticed Klara hiding a smile. Him trusting her was nice.
Sanji sighed, "Alright, Klara. Where's the food?"
"Well, there are a couple of markets near here. We can buy supplies there." Her eyes narrowed as she added, "Or we could steal."
Nami grinned, "I lke the way you think, Klara!"
"Yeah, but I don't think Luffy would like it if we steal our supplies." Usopp pointed out.
Chopper nodded, "I agree."
"Okay. Buy them. But let's be quick. I don't like the looks those men are giving us." Klara said. Her senses were on high alert. She was ready for an attack at any second.
"What's your hurry?" Luffy asked.
Klara growled, "I don't like the night, okay?"
"You? Afraid of the dark?" Usopp laughed.
"No." Klara hissed. She was starting to get annoyed.
Zolo sighed, then he noticed the shady looking men began to shift from looking like a group to more like a formation. It made him uneasy. His hand instantly went to his swords. Klara noticed his movement and looked in the direction he was looking. She drifted closer toward him. "Damn. It's a trap." Zolo whispered to her.
"I noticed." She nodded.
Zolo looked at the others. Robin seemed to noticed something was wrong. She turned to the duo and muttered, "Something is not right here."
"Tell us something we don't already know." Zolo replied.
Klara's eyes narrowed. "Be ready for anything." She whispered. Then she heard Luffy cry out in joy. He had discovered a market with food. "Uh-oh." She moaned.
