Hayley's POV
I glanced around the crowded cafeteria, browsing the round tables for my friends.
"Hayley!" Josh called, waving me over. I walked to it. There was a girl I had never seen before sitting next to him. He had his arm around Vicky, who was on his other side, along with Jeremy, Zac, and a few other of our friends.
"Who's this?" I inquired about the girl.
"This is Delia," Josh informed me. "She's new."
"Oh. Hi," I said, smiling. She gave me kind of a half smile back. Almost a smirk. I got a bad vibe from her. I ignored it for now.
She started talking about how she moved here from California and what not.
I sat down next to Ian, my boyfriend of about two weeks. He kissed me on the cheek. I glanced around the table as I opened my brown bag lunch. I caught the new girl staring at me for some reason. I stared back and she looked away. Weird.

"I'm in the business of misery..."
"Seriously. She's just...weird to me," I told Vicky. This was a few weeks later. "It's like she's always giving me the death glare. Don't you see her at lunch?"
"No. How is she weird?" she asked, pulling books out of her locker.
"I don't know. She just doesn't like-" Delia suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
"Hi Victoria," she said. "Hayley," she added, barely glancing at me. I gave Vicky a pointed look. She shrugged back.
"Sorry guys. I gotta get home," she said, shutting her locker and walking off.
Delia was staring at me when I looked back at her.
"What?" I half demanded, frustrated with this.
"I don't like you," she said bluntly. Was she crazy? What had I ever done to her?
"Huh?" I asked, confused. She didn't respond.
"If you know whats good for you, you'll stay away from Ian," she said, instead.
"Are you threatening me?" I asked, scoffing in disbelief. She didn't answer that either, and walked away.
I rolled my eyes. What could she do about it?

"Let's take it from the top."
"So what do you think of her?" I asked Vicky and the guys a few days later.
"She's okay," Josh answered.
"She's nice enough," Jeremy added.
"She's hot, Zac blurted out. Vicky rolled her eyes and we ignored that comment.
"Why?" Vicky asked me.
"She doesn't like me," I said, shrugging.
"How do you know?" Josh asked.
"I figured maybe after she told me 'I don't like you?" I asked, a little sarcastically.
"Seriously?" Jeremy asked. I nodded.
"That's weird. Did she say why?" Vicky inquired. I shook my head.
"All she said was to stay away from Ian."
"That's really weird," she said.
"No kidding," I answered.
"Don't worry about it," Vicky said, waving it away.
"Yeah," Josh agreed. "She can't do anything about you and Ian."

"She's got a body like an hourglass, it's ticking like a clock."

Tell me what you think.
Oh yeah, and read my "Pressure" one-shot for a little background.
