Chapter 4 : |TreS| Singing Screaming Sweetly Sorrows
It was nice here: very warm and comfortable. For some reason there was a giant rabbit or wolf thing jumping around. The guys and Nisza were all there, oddly silent. Accept Frank; he was no where to be seen. ‘Hey,’ I realized; ‘I’m moving.’ I frowned. I was being jarred around. I opened my eyes to find Mikey and Frank over me. Mikey was jumping on my bed. So that’s why I was moving…
“What?” I croaked, turning on my stomach. “Sleep time now…” at least they hadn’t turned on the light.
“Get up sleeping beauty!” Gerard teased from the doorway; flipping the light switch. Light flooded my eyes and seared my nerves.
“Gerard Way! I’m going to kill you!” I threatened weakly. “Mikey, too…” I yawned. He was still jumping on my bed, chanting ‘get up! Get up!’
“Like I haven’t heard that before…” Gerard countered.
“Turn off the light, Gee.” Frank said. His voice was close. Suddenly it was dark and I didn’t feel like a sailor on the open stormy sea.
“Vampiress” Mikey hissed. Gerard imitated Dracula, throwing his hands over his head in protection from the light; and hissing. They left me be, thank goodness. I wondered, only slightly what their original mission was.
But Frank hadn’t left. I could feel his hand on my shoulder. Also, his voice: velvet smooth and low; calling me to wake up.
“Fine,” I said tiredly and clearly reluctant.
“Ha-ha” he laughed quietly by my ear.
I opened my eyes just in time to find his lips on my forehead; very softly. He pulled away, looking into my eyes then away.
I pulled my hand from under my blanket to touch his face. “Hey… why you wake me up?” My voice was still rough, only a bit clearer than oh, say a minute ago…
“Oh,” he looked up. “We’re going out.” I probably looked a little confused so he continued. “All of us.”
“It’s early…” I stated.
“Yeah,” he smiled; “Like nine am…you coming?”
I sighed and dropped my hand. “Sure, why not?”
“Excellent. We leave in five.”
“What?!?!” I felt my eyes widen.
“I’m kidding…”
“What should I dress for?” I asked, relieved.
“Well,” he started, thinking; “it’s warm out… and we’ll be outside a lot. Wear a swim suit, just in case…”
“Shorts and a t-shirt?”
“Yeah”
“Ok…”
“We planned to leave in about forty-five minutes.” He said, standing and turning toward the door.
“Ok.”
I got up and went to my closet to find clothes. My black shorts and a black t-shirt with an Atreyu design on it. Also, I retrieved my swim suit to replace my underwear; black, of course, with skulls on it. The only way I would ever buy a swim suit (let alone a bikini) is if it was black and had skulls or something anti-prep on it.
I showered and dressed. Forget make-up… who needs that? I have nothing to hide. I went in my room, checking my purse (black – none of that nasty girly purse crap, either) to make sure it contained my cell phone, some chap stick and the rest. Then, I proceeded down the stairs to find my (black) shoes (with skulls on them).
“I’m ready guys!” I called toward the living room. I could hear Halloween H2O playing full blast.
In a single moment I heard ‘Get her!’ and I was being lifted and carried out the door.
“Guys!” I huffed, rolling my eyes.
“What?” Bob asked. “You like dramatic exits, so don’t even start…”
“Nice…” Ray commented. They high-fived over my stomach. “Mikey, open the door…”
He followed through and they dumped me in the back seat of a dark car with tinted windows. I sat up quickly, scrambling with the lock and attempting to open the door. It didn’t budge; simply clicked.
