"Aki." Lord Ryo declared in his booming but gentle voice, her own name rung in her ears like a gong.
Clearing her throat, her pale silk fell over her short fingers as she bowed. "Yes, honored father?" Aki asked with great intent, closing her eyes.
"There is something I must", he stepped from his stance in front of the mahogany fireplace a bit closer to his daughter. "speak with you about."
The teal eyes opened to greet his hazel, which were filled with a great deal of, sympathy. Confusion filled her, not understanding why her father was acting so strangely.
"Gomen, father!" she blurted out, quickly clenching her eyes, in thought that he was referring to dinner the night before.
"No, no, Aki, dear. You have done nothing wrong. Hana told me the young man has forgiven you ." Fire flames danced in his small irises.
"Hm," oceanic eyes of Aki, opened slowly.
"I'm afraid it is something else I wanted to speak with about." his voice suddenly became even.
A sigh of relief, escaped the rosy lips. "What is it, father?"
Hyuga stood steadily outside the meeting corridor, spine pressed against the stoned wall, he glanced around at the decor of the hallways, which were just as extravagant as any room in the grand palace. But you could call it a haven, almost as if it wasn't supposed to exist.
As if you would have to have great faith to even believe in a place like this, it was perfect; flawless.
The cold eyes stopped at a particular portrait, a woman; perhaps the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, seemly staring into his hash eyes like nothing. Her eyes contrasted against the dull grey background behind her.
A woman like that could light up a room with a single glance. An angel pasted on this haven. Her eyes a dreamy color of evergreen and aquamarine.
"Hm", a thoughtful murmur, as the portrait drew him in a little more.
The monotonous creak of the door drew his attention perpendicular to him, a wave of momentary heat rose over him as the door sung its way open all the way. Her thick bangs shadowed over her eyes as she very slowly, very delicately closed one of the heavy doors.
Neji sensed the tension in her.
'What now?' he thought, in spite of her dismay.
Aki's very much normally bright eyes seemed dull, without hope, trapped as she gave the Hyuga a pitiful look. Help...me. Take me...away. Save...me. Her eyes whispered a silent prayer to Hyuga Neji. His eyes locked with hers saying nothing.
The stare seemed to weaken him in a way, quicken the pace of his heart. After minutes of nothing but pleading she looked away, her sandals clicking their way down the winding ivory staircase.
He was left hypnotized, tranced, enchanted by the moment. He had to follow her, she was like a siren leading him to his death.
The air outside was no doubt getting colder, brisk. This however didn't burden him as he rolled over in his overdone-over the top bed, which he observantly recalled had four layers of lacy blankets and two sheets.
The Hyuga couldn't help but notice the days were going by extremely slow, each more than the previous. Each hour in this place felt like a lifetime. A lifetime right before your eyes, a lifetime gone by too quick, a lifetime not knowing everything you wanted to know.
Those cold eyes, those superior eyes, those beautiful eyes of Neji Hyuga opened to the sight of a few trees out the window that laid near the sandy beach oasis. The trees were almost bare. Only a few leaves in sight.
Coo.
A colorless dove pecked itself clean on the window sill, him as a witness. Even if doing a simple task, a dove was beautiful, a piece of art; spreading it's beauty wherever it goes.
Neji unknowingly mirrored a dove, just the way he carried himself just the way he was; he could very well be described as beautiful.
Cautiously, he stood up taking a few steps toward the creature. The beady eyes of the dove locked with his blank frosty ones, in that instant.
Flutter, the creature fluttered frantically away. Leaving behind only a single feather that in a late autumn breeze floated into the extravagantly decorated room.
"Neji-san."
A quiet voice made him turn his head, staring Aki in the face.
"Princess," he said a bit surprised.
She quickly eyed the shirtless Hyuga in embarrassment. "Gomen!" she shouted hurriedly, turning her back to him, putting her fingers over her eyes. Her peachy cheeks, red.
'He's so handsome.' she thought in spite of the heat rising in her face, grinning. She lay her side of her face in her palm.
Immediately he began to clothe himself with the top half of his Hyuga robes. "Is t-there something you wanted, p-princess?" he stuttered out in slight embarrassment, fumbling to put his shirt on; in thought he was sounding like his dear cousin Hinata.
An awkward gentle laugh as she turned around to a 'fully clothed' Sir Neji.
Her fingers twiddled anxiously. "I was wondering..." she started avoiding all possible eye contact. " if you would join me in stroll though the village."
A clear of the throat, he bowed. "It would be my pleasure, princess.", a trace of embarrassment still present.
'Such a gentleman!' she thought bubbly, in spite of her hidden sadness.
Back in the security and safety of his own bed, he had to sigh-then, admit it was a tolerable day.
He closed his weary pale eyes remembering the highlights of his adventure with the princess...
