I bobbed my head to the beat as The Higher finished up their set that would lead directly into Escape the Fate's.

"Thank God!" My sister sighed in relief. "If this band you dragged me here to see is anything as bad as that one, I'm leaving."
I rolled my eyes. "Geez, Dani, just because they're not what we typically listen to doesn't mean you can't be open to different types of music." She obviously didn't want her "tough girl" image imperfected by being associated with any music scene other than metal.
The stage went dark, and a considerable amount of feedback resounded from the amps. Many of the patrons, including me, grabbed their ears in response to the shrieking noise.
Finally, the stage lit up, and the identity of the band members were revealed. Ronnie was standing behind the front microphone, Robert was behind the slightly undersized drumset, Omar and Bryan were on either side of the stage with their guitars, and Max seemed to be everywhere at once, holding his bass uneasily.
"Hello, everybody." Ronnie breathed into the microphone as a sly smile creeped onto his face. The whole fron row of fans, which looked more like barbie dolls erupted into cheers.
"We love you Ronnie!"
"Babe, sing a song for me!"
"Ronnnnnieeee!"

Yeah, those had to be his highschool groupies. I scoffed disgustingly and leaned back against the bar stool. If that was all I was going to hear for the whole set, it was going to be the longest thirty minutes of my life.
The music kicked in enthusiastically, and half-way throught the first song, I could tell that this band was going somewhere. The intense guitar breakdowns and strong bass and drum rythms, combined with Ronnie's half sung, half shrieked vocals, that evenI had to admit did show talent, were enough to make any hardcore kid jump for joy. Even my sister.
Before the last song started, Ronnie had an unexpected announcement.
"Wow, thanks so much!" The crowd roared. Even me.
"Look, theres a special guest here tonight, Her name is Sierra, and she just made the move here from New York, so please welcome her to her first show at The Experience." Ronnie gestured to me.
The crowd applauded dramaticallyas he mocked my genuinely surprised face.
"Thanks for coming tonight, Sierra. This is the first time we're ever going to play this next song live, and we want to dedicate it to you. It's called 'Friends and Alibis'." Max said confidently into his microphone.
The song was amazing, especially for it being their first time performing it. Since the guys' set was the last of the night, the club began to empty quickly.
As I approached the stage Max jumped down. He enveloped me in an embrace that I wished would never end.
"Thank you so much." I whispered inhis ear.
"Thanks for coming." He replied.
"Do you need help packing up?"
"You don't have to."
"No its fine." I smiled. "My sister can help."
I motioned for her to come closer to the stage.
"Max, this is Dani, my older sister. Dani, this is Max."
