I've liked Nate for so long, and he doesnt even notice. Hes been going out with Candy for way to long. She cheats on him, and he pretends not to know. Why is he doing this to himself?
"I'm calling!!! Come on, answer the phone!" Nate's voice came through the phone as I went to pick it up. Did I mention that he's my best friend? Cliche, I know. But I cant help it...
"Hello?"
"Hey Ellie, whatchya up to?"
"Nothing...you?"
"Candy just canceled on me, so I was wondering if you wanted to see a movie with me." Candy didn't deserve Nate, but he had yet to realize that.
"Sure." I smiled.
"Pick you up in a half an hour?"
"Okay, I'll be ready."
I hung up my cell phone, and slid it into the pocket of my jeans. I grabbed my make-up, and headed to the bathroom to apply it. I brushed my teeth, and slipped on my shoes.
I was ready. Within minutes there was a knock at the door.
"You ready?" Nate asked, flashing that smile that I loved too much.
"Yep." I locked the door behind us, and slipped the keys into my hoodie pocket. I wish things could be like this forever, well without Candy being part of the picture.
I waited eight long months,
She finally set him free.
I told him I can't lie he was the only one for me.
So yeah, I finally told him. But I had to get off the phone, so I didn't get to hear his answer. I should've waited an extra minute, because it's gonna keep me up all night wondering...
She's got it out for me,
But I wear the biggest smile.
As you can tell, it worked out really well. I've never been so happy. And for the next few weeks, Candy kept on sending me threatening messages about how 'I stole her man'. Did I really have to remind her that she broke up with him?
But it was getting way to out of hand when she was waiting by my car after my shift at Orange Julius was over.
"What do you want?" I looked at her, disgust evident in my voice.
"I wanna know why you stole him from me."
"You broke up with him, remember?"
She pushed me as I tried to get closer to the door to my car, and stood in front of it.
"Get out of my way." I warned her.
"No. I bet you that if I asked Nate to go out with me, he would." And with that I couldn't hold it back anymore. I punched her right in the nose and she fell to the ground.
"No he wont. He realizes how much of a whore you are now." I pushed her out of the way with my foot, got in my car, and drove away.
