Lillian sighed and shifted in her seat a little. She was never a huge fan of flying anyways, but this trip was exceptionally nerve wracking. She was on a plane headed to Las Vegas for a wedding.
She should be excited, but this wasn't just any wedding. This was the wedding of her ex-boyfriend's friend. This was the wedding of a couple she had spent a lot of time with before she broke up with her ex.
This was the wedding of Brendon Urie and Angelina Reans.
And her ex was none other than Peter Wentz.
Lillian and Pete had enough history to fill up an encyclopedia and then some.
When she was just of high school age her parents would send her to Chicago every summer to visit her family there. One night her cousin took her to a party being thrown by some kid named Joe Trohman. That's when they first met.
Pete instantly fell for Lillian.
Literally.
He was bored as he walked through the party in a dazed state, not paying any attention to where he was going.
She was sitting on a couch, drawing on a napkin, with her legs stretched out in front of her.
His feet met hers, they tangled, and he fell onto the floor in front of her.
"Oh my gosh! Are you okay?" She asked and jumped up to help him.
"Yeah....I'm fine." Pete laughed, feeling a little embarrassed as she helped him to his feet. "Thank you."
They were both quiet for a moment as they took the opportunity to really look at each other.
Her dark bangs hung loosely across her face. Pete felt like he was going to drown in her deep grey blue eyes.
Lillian had to quickly turn away from Pete's piercing hazel eyes. Even for the few seconds she looked into them she could see he was lost and searching for something to ease his pain.
Lillian wasn't looking to be anyone's cure.
"These are really good." He said looking at the doodles on her napkin.
"Oh thank you....I was just messing around...."
"Is this what you do?"
"You mean draw? No...well sort of, I do...everything." She laughed. "Design, photography, writing, I love it all."
"Creative type." Pete smiled, with a glint in his eye that Lillian couldn't quite read.
Pete had been very charming and charismatic from the start. That made Lillian hesitant. Boys like that usually had something to hide, something dark.
But what Peter Wentz wants Peter Wentz gets.
And who was Lillian to deny him?
"Thank you." Lillian told the bell boy after he brought her luggage up to her room. She tipped him and he left.
She sighed a bit as she started to unpack. She'd heard a lot of other people coming to the wedding were staying at the same hotel. She prayed she wouldn't run into Pete there.
After about an hour of flipping through channels in her room she started to get cabin fever. She decided to risk going down to the lounge for a drink. She was glad she had just turned 21. She was going to need a few drinks to make it through this weekend.
She held her breath as she rode down the elevator, hoping no one else would get on. But that only lasted for about 2 floors.
She gasped a little when the doors opened and revealed someone she wasn't expecting.
"William Beckett." She grinned at the tall boy.
"LA?" He gave her a surprised smile. "How ya been hun?" He pulled her into a hug as the elevator continued down.
"Not bad, you?"
"Excited to start touring. I'm surprised to see you here. You know who else is coming to this wedding, right?"
"Yes, yes. I'm very aware of the fact that Pete is here. You haven't seen him have you?"
"No." He laughed. "Not yet."
William went with Lillian to the lounge and they had a few drinks.
"So you really think you're going to get through this weekend without seeing him?" William smirked as he sipped his drink.
"A girl can dream can't she?" Lillian sighed.
"So when's the last time you saw him?"
"You know very well when the last time I saw him was." She narrowed her eyes.
Lillian had been in Chicago to visit the Academy boys while they rehearsed their new album. Butcher had been showing her a drum beat he was working on. She happened to be sitting on his lap learning in it when Pete walked in for an unexpected visit.
"Butcher thought for sure Pete was gonna kill him." William laughed.
"Glad you thought it was funny." Lillian rolled her eyes. "Thanks for the drinks love, but I better get back to my room. Have a long day tomorrow." She said as she stood and gathered her things.
"Obviously you came by yourself so I'll come up to get you before the wedding okay? What room are you in?"
"Are you sure? I don't want to cause any problems between you and Pete." She hesitated.
"You're not his property, and I'm not afraid of him."
"Okay." She smiled. "Room 1712." She scribbled the number on his hand. She knew how easily he forgot things. "See you tomorrow." She pecked him on the cheek before hurrying off to the elevator.
It was going to be an interesting weekend.
