In a land far away, there was a large kingdom. And within that kingdom, there was a village that surrounded a beautiful castle. Inside the castle, lived a small princess who was far too ignorant for her own good. One day, the little princess wandered too far from the royal courtyard and she stumbled upon a mysterious sorcerer with eyes as dark as onyx and long hair that matched in color and luster. He was covered in a long black cloak with red clouds that reached far past his fingertips and with a collar that hid the bottom half of his face.
"Young girl," the sorcerer said, bending down to look the girl in the eye, "Why have you traveled so far from your home? It's quite dangerous to be out here alone..."
The girl smiled at the sorcerer, "Oh, nonsense! Papa tells me that all the time and he never lets me go out past the royal gates!"
"'Royal Gates?'"
The princess nodded and turned around to point at the large stone gates of the Royal Castle, "Mm-hmm! Right over there! That's where Mama and Papa live! And me too!"
A small smirk crossed the man's lips and he leered at the innocent child. "I see," he replied smoothly and stroked the girl's long black velvet hair, "So, you're a princess from that Royal Castle. Well, it seems that you still have a lot to learn about this world, and about the dangers it brings..."
The ignorant princess tilted her head lightly and blinking, "What do you mean? It's not dangerous out here! And if there was any danger, my Papa will come and rescue me!"
The sorcerer chuckled lowly and lowered his head, smiling, "You have so much to learn, dear princess, and it's time you started learning."
He lifts his head and his once shining onyx eyes were now the color of blood and little coma-like shapes spun around inside the iris. The princess watched those eyes and she fell into a trance, fainting into the sorcerer's arms. The sorcerer took her away in his long black cloak and brought her to his tower that was located deep in the forest just outside the village. The tower was very tall and made of strong stone, he brought the princess to the chamber at the very top of the tower and layed her down on the bed. As the little princess began to gain consciousness again, she heard the sorcerer speak to her one last time.
"Little princess," he said, "I leave you here in this tower with a curse. You are are hearby bound to this very chamber until a prince comes to rescue you. The only trick is, you must be able to see past your ignorance and acknowledge the man that has come to rescue you. If you cannot, then you are to remain in this tower for all of eternity. I wish you luck, princess." The sorcerer disappeared out the tower window without another word, his black cloak billowing behind him.
///10 years later///
Date: March 14, 1583
I am the princess from that story written so long ago. My fate has been sealed and now, I am still waiting in this castle. Waiting for my prince to come and save me from this terrible destiny that is my own. And so, I send you this letter, my dear prince. Please, find this letter and let our hearts lead us to eachother! Dear Prince, I lovujdh-
I stare in disgust at the letter underneath my pen as if it was suddenly very offensive. The word that I had meant to write had suddenly become illegible and I throw the now crumpled up letter at the stone wall, growling in annoyance. My eye catches an apple that had strayed onto my floor. I pick it up curiously and wonder.
'How did an apple wind up on my floor?'
Suddenly, as if answering my thoughts, another scarlet apple flies through the window and hits me straight in the back of my head. I whip around and glare at the window, then at the apple, then at the window again. Now realizing what had caused me to ruin the perfect letter I had worked so hard on, I storm to the window of the stone chamber and whip the apple down at the person standing at the base of the tower. Said-person casually steps to the side and the apple falls to the ground beside them.
"What that hell are you thinking?!!" I scream, leaning out the tower window, "How the hell did you get the idea to throw apples through my window, you bastard!!!"
The person, dressed in shining armor, removes the helm from their head, revealing long black bangs and spiky black hair in the back. Although he was far down, I could see him smirking back up at me.
I growl and cross my arms defiantly over my chest, "Let me restate this....Ahem! Arrogant knight by whose name is addressed as Uchiha. Where in devil's name did you get such an irrevelent idea as to uhm....heave apples through my chamber window? Are you mad?"
"Only when you're around," he mumbles, rubbing his ears at the sound of my screeching, "So nice to hear your lovely voice again....."
Grimicing at the sarcasm practically dripping off the man's tongue, I sigh and lean against the stone sill of the window, "What do you want, Sasuke? I'm really not in the mood..."
He shrugs and turns around lifting his helm back onto his head, but not before saying, "Well, if it's gonna be like that, I guess you won't be needing anything from the market then..."
I catch that comment and immediately lean back out the window, calling, "Wait, wait! Oh, fair knight, please do not go! Have you such a black heart as to leave a poor princess locked in a tower with no food in her stomach?"
Sasuke pauses for a moment, helm lifted just above his head, then he smiles and remarks smugly, "Yes, yes I do."
"Ha ha...very funny, Sasuke. But seriously, I'm starving up here!!" I say dramactically, hanging the upper-half of my body out the window.
He turns back around and looks at me impatiently, "So, what do you want? Tell me before I change my mind..."
I grin and answer back happily, "I want more fruit, specifically fresh strawberries and grapes. I want some more bread too, the fresh stuff. And while you're out, stop in the sweet shop and pick me up one of those really good cakes that are sold in those fancy boxes, I've been dying for something sweet."
He grunts as a sign he heard and turns around. I watch as the man in shining armor replaces his helm on his head and walks to a tree nearby. He unties the horse from the tree and gracefully mounts it, then rides swiftly towards the town. I lean out the window as far as I can go, reaching on the tips of my toes, trying to watch as the Uchiha rides away. Once I cannot see him any further, I sigh and casually sit on the window sill, staring down at the ground so far below.
'You must be able to see past your ignorance and acknowledge the man that has come to rescue you. If you cannot, then you are to remain in this tower for all of eternity...'
I growl and rub my temples at the words the sorcerer had told me so long ago, "What the hell does that even mean? Dammit...." Then I stare up into the cerulean sky, watching as soft, puffy clouds drift by. 'The clouds look so free today.....' I think to myself, 'Prince, please rescue me soon....I want to be free as well.'
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Sasuke ties his horse to a tree trunk at the edge of the market, before entering the bustling streets. He removes his silver helm with a sigh and leaves it with his horse, his loose bangs falling into his eyes after running his fingers through his hair briefly. The sullen knight glides through the streets of people, stopping for only what he was requested to get. After picking up a small bag of fruit, he moves on towards the next shop, only to be stopped by none other than Uzumaki Naruto, or as some call him, the village idiot.
"Hey Sasuke! Whatcha doin'?" Naruto asks, cheerfully.
"What's it look like, dobe?" Sasuke replies coldly.
The sun-kissed boy pouts as Sasuke glides right by him, then he places his hands behind his head and grins obnoxiously, "Oh, I see...doin' a little shopping for your girlfriend, eh Sasuke? You're such a sly bastard."
The dark-haired knight just about drops his bag of fruit with this comment, but instead he shifts it into one arm and turns back around towards Naruto.
"Ow!!!! Hey, what was that for?!!!" Naruto whines, holding his now aching head from Sasuke's 'fist of doom.'
"Idiot," Sasuke mumbles, then continues on his way.
Naruto huffs and crosses his arms, "Better than a love-sick bastard, like you."
Once again, Sasuke almost drops his bag, but he doesn't. He just freezes in his tracks for a few moments, then starts walking again. Naruto blinks and follows Sasuke, soon falling into step with him.
"I don't get it," Naruto says, "Why do you run all these errands for that stuck-up, poor excuse for a lady, whiney little princess? She's so bossy and complains all time!"
Sasuke doesn't say anything, just continues walking, hiding his eyes behind his bangs.
"I guess I just don't see what you see in her. She's an ignorant little bitch from what I can tell," Naruto rambles on to a silent Sasuke, "I mean, she's so oblivious to everything. She doesn't even acknowledge the fact that you like her."
Sasuke suddenly stops and it takes Naruto a few strides to realize that Sasuke wasn't following anymore. He looks back at the silent knight hiding behind his long bangs and lowered head.
"You do still like her, right?" he asks.
Sasuke doesn't answer right away. But the truth was, that he had liked her for a very long time. Ever since he had laid eyes upon her in that cold, unforgiving tower about 4 years ago. Though his heart ached to tell how he truely felt, he denied his feelings and went on living as though he had never seen her before. But ever since that day 4 years ago, Sasuke had stopped at that tower to watch the princess from her chamber so high up, and it was only just last year that he had finally spoken to her and began to know her personally. Though he still tried to deny his feelings, he had enjoyed every moment spent with her.
"Sasuke?" Naruto's voice interrupts his thoughts.
Sasuke blinks and looks up at Naruto who was staring peculiarly at him. He sighs and walks past Naruto. Naruto doesn't follow this time. He watches Sasuke back slowly inch farther away with every step. Although their relationship was rocky at best, Naruto considered Sasuke to be his best friend, and he was sure that Sasuke felt the same. But regardless of how the other felt, Naruto still cared about Sasuke, and worried. Naruto knew Sasuke's past like the back of his own hand, and he knew that Sasuke was never one to be attracted to someone else. So when Naruto had discovered that Sasuke had feelings for some stuck-up, bratty princess, and she had no idea, Naruto was obviously worried. What if the princess didn't return Sasuke's feelings? How would he react? Sasuke looked and was a very strong person, but when it came to relationships he was just as fragile as anyone else. Naruto knew that Sasuke was strong, that he could pull through anything, but that didn't stop the nagging thought that was pushed to the back of his mind that maybe....just maybe, Sasuke won't be able to pull through something like this. He had never had strong affections towards anyone before, what would he think of them if he was rejected right off the bat?
Little did Naruto know, that Sasuke was also having similar thoughts. He considered the risk of getting attached to someone, but that couldn't stop the feelings he had already had towards the princess. He would spend hours, just trying to gather up courage to say how he felt, but everytime 'her prince' was mentioned, his courage was torn apart right in front of his eyes. So he never said anything, never even hinted that maybe he liked her just a little bit. He was scared, so terribly scared of being rejected by the one person that actually mattered to him, and that fear was what kept him from admitting his feelings for 4 years. But he knew he would have to tell her soon, whether he liked it or not. Finding that he was making himself rather depressed, Sasuke hurried to the bread shop, then the sweet shop and picked up one of the cakes that was requested. Making sure he had picked up everything, he quickly made his way back to the tower.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
My reflection glints lividly in the steel blade as I bring it close to my face. I glance down at the metal tray by my bedside, containing a glance of water and several white pills, and tighten my grip on the knife.
"This..." I say nervously, and swallow hard, "Is truely the end..."
My eyes close and I bring knife over my head, angled directly for my heart. When suddenly:
"Oi! What the hell are you doing up there?"
I shriek and fumble the knife. It clatters against the tray and falls onto my bed, spilling the pills and water all over the floor. I growl and stomp towards the window, then glare down at the familiar shape.
"What the hell is your problem?!!! Can't you see that I was just about to-"
"'Just about to' what?" the knight replies smoothly, then lifts off the helm, once again revealing those matching eyes and bangs. "You weren't about to kill yourself again, were you? I swear, you can be so dramatic," he says with a chuckle.
I scoff and sit on the window sill, my back facing the dark-haired knight, "Tch...what's it to you, Uchiha?"
Sasuke shrugs and sits down, leaning against the stone wall of the tower, "Fine...more food for me."
My ears perk and my eyes light up at these words and I whirl back around with a smile, "You brought food?! Oh god, yes!! Thank you so much, I'm starving!"
I spin around and disappear from the window briefly, then return with a basket tied to the end of a rope. It was a small gift from Sasuke for when he went to buy food for me, since I couldn't leave the tower. He smirks inwardly to himself as the basket reaches him, "Hm...kinda like a fairytale."
"What?" I call from above.
He looks up at me after he finishes loading the food and recites, "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your long hair...."
I laugh and call back as I begin to bring up the basket, "You wish. Even if my hair was long enough to reach the ground, you're so fat you'd probably tear my head off if you tried to climb this tower!"
"Says the person who I just bought cake for," Sasuke counters smoothly. You can always count on Sasuke to have a comeback for everything.
"Are you perhaps hinting that I'm fat, Uchiha?" I sneer as the basket reaches the top.
Another smirk, "Not at all, princess."
We spend hours just talking to eachother, trading insults, poking fun at eachother. Despite Sasuke's attitude and his snide remarks to....well, just about everything, he really was a nice guy to be around. He kept me company for 4 years now, and never once has he gone a day without at least checking up on me, even if it lasted for only a few minutes. As I begin to eat the cake he had brought me, I spark a conversation.
"You know," I mumble with food in my mouth, "You look a lot like him."
Sasuke swallows the food he was eating then looks up at me, his back leaning against the tower, "Like who?"
"The sorcerer," I reply, wiping my hands lightly on a towel at my bedside, "The one that trapped me in this tower 10 years ago."
Sasuke doesn't say anything, just listens. '10 years she's been in that tower...' Sasuke looks back down at the ground and says, "Really...what does this sorcerer look like?"
I blink and look down at Sasuke, surprised that this conversation is actually going somewhere. "Well...." I start, trying to think back to when I first saw him, "He basically looks like an older 'you.' You both have the same color hair, only his was longer. And you have the same eyes too, except...." I trail off a bit, "Except his eyes...would turn red and his irises would spin."
Sasuke had almost stopped breathing after that last sentance. Then he takes a deep breath and urges me to continue, "What else did he look like?"
I stop and think more, "Well...he was dressed in a long black cloak with red clouds on it, and a high collar." I stop and look down at the Uchiha again, "Why? Do you know this man?"
Sasuke doesn't reply at first, just stares at the ground as his fists begin to tighten, his nails digging into his palms. He closes his eyes and forces his voice steady as he answers, "He's my brother..."
My eyes widen as Sasuke's words reach my ears. "You're....brother?" I repeat slowly, "A-are you sure?"
Sasuke nods and continues, "Yes, I'm sure of it...his name is Uchiha Itachi, my older brother. He's a traitor of my family, and when I was young....he killed them all."
My heart sinks and I stare with wide eyes down at Sasuke. "Sasuke....I-"
"I should have killed him back then," he snaps, cutting off my words, "I should have taken his life right then, but....I couldn't. And now, you're stuck in that tower because of him as well."
"Sasuke! It's not-"
"Why? Why couldn't I kill him then? Why wasn't I-ow!!" Sasuke growls, now holding a hand to the small bump left on his head and glares down at the apple that had fallen to his feet. He stands, picking up the apple and barks, "What the hell was that for?!!" before whipping the apple back at me.
I duck as the apple sails through my window, then stick my tongue out, "You were starting to get all angsty and shit...I needed to snap you out of it."
Sasuke scoffs and leans against the tower, "Well, excuse me for reminiscing a bit."
I smile a bit, then lean out the window, "But seriously, don't be so hard on yourself. It's my fault that I'm in this tower...not yours, not your brother's. Besides, the guy's a freaking fairy! Did I tell you he wears purple nail polish? What kind of man wears nail polish?! I'm pretty sure he wore mascara or something too, because his eyes were waaay too girly than any man's eyes have a right to be!" I look down at Sasuke, hoping that I made him feel even the slightest bit better. He still looked sad, or....'depressed' and shit. "Oi! You're not 'angsting' again, are you?" I ask.
Sasuke sighs and rubs his ears a bit, "You're really loud, you know that?"
"I think you're just deaf! Why don't you get off your lazy ass and come up here if you can't hear me!!"
"Why don't you come down? Oh yeah, that's right. You can't because you pissed off my brother and got stuck up there yourself!"
"Shut up, Sasuke!! That's not how it happened!!" I shriek back at him.
He places his hands on his hips and looks up at me, "Really...then how did it happen?"
I freeze. How did it happen? I don't even remember anymore, why was I locked up again? "I don't...." I stare down at Sasuke, an impatient look on his face, "I don't....know."
Sasuke sighs, he should have known. 'Of course she wouldn't know, he probably put her up there just to be the cold-hearted bastard he is...' The dark-haired knight glances back at his pack near the edge of the forest, where a tan sheath lay against a tree. He glides over and picks up the sheath, pulling out a long silver sword.
"Hey, hey, hey!!! Just what the heck are you doing to my tower?!! You're not putting 'dings' in the wall, are you?!!" I screech, sending a deadly look down at the Uchiha who had started digging the tip of his sword in the tower wall.
"Just shut up..." he mutters coldly, not taking his eyes off his work.
I gasp lightly, taking offense to his cold words, and cross my arms over my chest. "Now, that is no way to talk to a lady, much less a princess!" I remark shrewdly.
I smirk in satisfaction when Sasuke stops momentarily and looks up at me. Then he returns the smirk and says, "Thank you for warning me of my insolence. I'll be sure to hold my tongue next time I see one."
My facial expression turns to one of disbelief. I can't believe this guy!!! I huff and turn on my heel, then disappear from the window into my chambers. Sasuke smiles at this, he can't help but think it's mildly entertaining to make me upset. And he had to admit that it was a bit cute too. He returns to the work at hand, carving semi-deep holes and ridges into the stone. After carving one, he traces it with his hand, then smiles in satisfaction. That should be deep enough... he thinks to himself, then moves his eyes up the length of the tower until my chamber window.
'One....two....three....' After analyzing for a few more moments, Sasuke moves the tip of his sword up a little less than a foot above the first gap and starts making a new one.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Days passed and Sasuke spent more and more time just digging holes in the stone wall. He wouldn't tell me what he was doing, depsite my efforts of getting him to talk. So, I sat at the window watching, bored out of my mind until I start daydreaming. Daydreaming about the day when my prince comes to get me. My lips curve into a smile and a small blush stains my cheeks, unintentionally. Then Sasuke invades the very crevaces of my mind and my smile fades into a frown. I narrow my eyes at the silent Uchiha at the base of the tower. Still dinging up my wall, bastard....
"Hey, Sasuke..."
He doesn't answer, he doesn't need too because I know he's listening.
"Sasuke, what do you think will happen when the prince finally comes to rescue me?" I inquire, "I mean...what if he comes at night? You'd stop by in the morning and I'd be gone. What would you do?"
Sasuke always seemed to get in a bad mood whenever I would mention 'my prince,' but I was a curious little princess. He sighs and jumps back, away from the wall, his sword clattering to the ground and taking a break. "How should I know?" he growls bitterly. A bit too bitter than intended.
I shrug and lean out the window, laying my arms on the sill and still watching. "I was...just wondering, I guess."
I can tell that he's getting annoyed by the way he moves his hand and slides it through his midnight strands, then rubs at the base of his neck. "Don't think about it," he mutters softly, barely audible to my ears.
"But how can I not? I've been in this tower for 10 years, you can't expect me to not be a little anxious!" I whine.
"I told you not to think about it!!" Sasuke growls, whipping around and glaring up at me.
I jump back a bit, taken by surprise at his sudden burst in anger. "What's gotten into you? You've been moody all day and I for one, am sick of your attitude!"
"Don't like it? Tough. Cause I'm the only one who actually bothers to visit your sorry ass!" he spits back.
Something was definately up. Sasuke was never normally this cruel. His words hurt. Not the normal teasing and taunting he usually dishes out, his words actually hurt. Bad.
I gently wrap my arms around myself and turn away slightly from the window. "What's gotten into you, Sasuke?" I mumble.
Either Sasuke didn't hear me, or he was ignoring me. He sighs and picks up his sword, stepping towards the wall again and digging more holes. I watch him silently.
"I'm the only one who actually bothers to visit your sorry ass!"
I wince at the harshness of his words. Did he really mean that? Is that what he thinks of me?
'No, it's not. I don't think of you that way. Why do I say things like that?' Sasuke mentally kicks himself for his slip of the tongue.
"Sasuke....I...I'm sorry," I say, looking down at him, waiting for a response. Nothing, not even eye contact. Like he didn't even hear me. I decide to speak I bit louder. "I'm sorry, Sasuke. I'm sorry I'm so helpless, that I can't do anything for myself anymore, and I'm sorry if I come off as conceited but I....I never asked you to come visit me!"
Still nothing.
"Hey! Sasuke I'm apologizing to you! At least answer me, or something!!!" I shriek, eyes desperate. "Please....please say something!"
Nothing fazes him. He just stares blankly at the wall, digging holes and more holes. Tears begin to poke at the corners of my eyes, but before I allow them to fall, I quickly spin around and fall face-down in my bed. Shoulders shaking at tears soak into the blankets.
Some wet falls onto the pale face of the Uchiha and he pauses. Lifting a hand, he wipes a wet droplet from his cheek and stares at it, then looks up at my chamber window. I wasn't there anymore. Sasuke sighs and stares at the wall again, 'Just a bit longer....'
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I wake up in the middle of the night to the same quiet grinding noise that Sasuke made with his sword in the stone. A few days had passed since we had stopped talking to eachother. Sasuke still came, but he didn't say anything. All I would hear was the soft grinding and scraping noise that would climb up my tower and enter my chamber. But the noise seemed so loud now. I moan in annoyance and cover my ears with a pillow. "Sasuke! Go home already! It's the middle of the night!"
The grinding noise stops and I sigh a bit in relief. Suddenly, I hear gentle footsteps by the base of my window. My eyes snap open and I slowly roll over to face the window. A dark sillhouette sits on the window sill, body and face shadowed by the glowing moon behind them. It was too dark to see who it was, but I wouldn't take any chances. I sit up immediately, sliding back until my back hit the wall behind me. "W-who's there?! How did you get in here?!!" I ask, voice trembling a bit in fear. My first thought was that the sorcerer came back, but then as my eyes began adjusting to the dark, I recognize the lithe frame and familiar hair style. "S-Sasuke?" I say timidly, no wonder I couldn't recognize him right away, I've only see him from afar and the darkness certainly wasn't helping.
Sasuke remains silent and slowly approaches my bedside.
"How did you get in here?" I ask again, more quietly, pulling the pools of blankets around me.
I see him smirk lightly, his eyes shining in the pale moonlight, before moving forward swiftly and pushing me onto my back on the bed. I gasp softly as Sasuke kneels onto the bed on his hands and knees, looming over me. "I climbed..." he states quietly.
"But...how?" I ask again.
I could tell Sasuke was getting a bit annoyed by the way he says, "Does it matter?"
I blink in surprise, but don't say a word. Sasuke narrows his eyes and lowers himself a bit, his face getting very close, so close that his breath tickles my face and neck.
"Sasu-!!!" I shriek just before he leans forward and seals off any words left to be said with his lips. I lay there on my bed, eyes even wider and face beginning to heat up. Sasuke's eyes are closed and he remains motionless for awhile. But when Sasuke shifts his lips ever so slightly, it alerts me immediately and my hands move up to push against his shoulders. "No! Sasuke, wait!!"
He lifts himself up with a sigh and stares down at me.
"We....you....we shouldn't..." I lose my words with each passing second, eyes darting around looking at everything but the dark eyes staring down at me.
"What?" he pursues carefully, wary of my response.
I shut my eyes painfully tight. "I....I still have to wait for him...my prince to rescue me...." I whisper, voice cracking a bit, then risk a glance at him.
Something flashes through his dark eyes, if only for a brief second, before he purposefully looks away. He looked almost hurt...and disappointed. He sighs and leans forward again, this time stopping his head right next to my ear.
"Ever stopped to wonder if maybe I was the prince you were waiting for?" he whispers in my ear.
I blink in surprise and once again am at a loss for words. He sighs then laughs quietly, "Of course..."
My eyebrows arch in confusion as he gets up from the bed and walks back towards the window. I sit up quickly as he places a hand on the sill. "Sasuke!"
He turns his head ever so slightly, only enough for me to see a small smile on his lips. The same ones that were pressed against mine so gently just a few moments ago. "You're right," he sighs, "I don't know what came over me...probably just being selfish again. Please forgive me..."
I finally realize what I had done, as Sasuke bows deeply to me then turns around, preparing to climb back down the tower. Tears of regret fill my eyes as I scramble off the bed and throw myself into Sasuke's back, locking my arms around his waist. "I'm sorry!" I cry, shoulders shaking and holding myself against his back tightly, "I'm so sorry, Sasuke! I can't believe I was so blind!"
He removes his hand from the window and stands up straight, not bothering to turn around, just listening to my sobs.
"You....you were right in front of me the whole time!" I whimper, "I can't believe I couldn't see it. But...I was too ignorant! Just like what you and Itachi told me, I was so ignorant I couldn't even see what was right in front of me this whole time....this whole time..."
"You really think so? Because I don't...not anymore," Sasuke replies.
I gasp and look up nervously, "W-what?"
"You said it yourself...What if I'm not the one you're waiting for? What then?"
I shake my head and cling tighter, "I don't care! I don't care anymore!! I don't want to wait any longer.....I don't....want to be alone. Please, don't leave me alone, Sasuke!!!"
The corners of Sasuke's mouth curves up lightly before he wills it away, then turns around, resting his arms gently on my back. I bury my face into his chest with a sigh, feeling the warmth radiate off his skin and through his clothing. It had been so long since I felt the warmth of another, and it felt good to feel it again.
I smile when I hear his words, "I won't," whispered into my ear.
And so, after being locked away in the tower for 10 years, the princess finally realizes that her prince was there all along, waiting for her to finally acknowledge him. But she had been too ignorant to see him, so the prince was able to open her eyes to the truth. They left the tower and they never saw the sorcerer again. The curse was lifted and they were together. Together forever.
