"Only....only one?" A small voice asked. It sounded as though it was only a child. "Yes kid, only one." The king replied. How dare he do this to us! I began pushing my way through the crowd, making my way toward the front. Rage burned threw me, this wasn't right! He can't do this! I had almost made it to the front when I realized my efforts had no meaning. Men I hadn't been able to see before stood around the carrige guarding king Harold...Dang. "Once the winner gets there prize of returning home. the rest of you will have to stay here and live your lives the best you can." The little kid began sobbing. Showing no sympathy the king went on."There is but one way to get home once the game ends! so don't worry not all hope is lost," The crowd inched forward making sure they could hear him",If you get chosen next year to participate in the games you can try again!" So, he choses one person who lives on this world to try at it as well. That didn't seem fair. That person would probably know there way around better than the rest of us.
Harold held up the golden staff he had in his hand, pointing it at the crowd he mumbled a few words. Everyone was covered with a black cloud of smoke. "Ugh...whats going on?!" I yelled a bit frightened, It was hard to breath and nothing was visable. Once the smoke cleared everyone looked around wondering what he had done."No need to worry. I have given you all the simble of a small bat on your backs so you recognize eachother. As in this way you won't attack the poor people around here who aren't participating. Looking ahead of me I saw the symbol of a bat on a tall mans shirt just as Harold had said. "Now then! I have explained almost everything! You shall all now be sent to seperate parts of the area. So you can start your search away from one another. For those of you who don't posses a weapon at the moment you will be given one shortly. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!" For a moment nothing happened. We all stood waiting to be told where to go. But instead I watched as people dropped to the ground one by one. "Whats goin..." Before I could continue to talk I suddenly felt droopy and fell to the floor. I was out cold.
Slowly my eyes opened. Looking strait up I saw the completely clear blue sky. Feeling around I realized I was laying in the grass in some field. Pushing myself up I scanned the area. Almost nothing was in site besides what seemed to be some old ruins in the distance. Suddenely my hand hit something hard, looking behind me I was what my weapon was probably suppost to be. a scyth. "How weird..." I thought to myself. Then I realized something. Why was I taking this all so well? I was basicly kidnaped by some troll and forced to play in a game that could get me killed. Standing up I held the scyth firmly in my hands."I know why I'm taking this so well...I'm excited and seriously want to win this challenge!". Theres no way i'm gonna lose! Looking around once more I knew my only option was to go to the ruins. Running I made my way there. I was deffinatly going to beat this game no matter what!
Finally coming up to the ruins I noticed how absolutley breath taking they were. It looked like a set up from Rome. Tall pillars reached toward the sky, and old fountian sat in the middle of the rectangle formation the pillars made. The sun shone perfectly making everything look like it was carved by angels. A voice suddenly snapped me out of the day dream. "Hey there. looking for this?" the voice said. Looking behind me I saw what looked like a fairly young boy. He held one of the blue jewels in front of him. Smiling he stuck it into his pocket. He wore a large light green hat, his clothing was also green. With dark green eyes and hair. He sat on top of his broom stick as it floated above the ground.

He seemed so cheerful. Hey maybe he will give me that jewel if I ask! "Excuse me.." I began," Could I please have the jewel? I really need to get home. I would really appriciate it". I said in the sweetest most sincere voice I possibly could. The boy laughed cheerfuly. "Silly girl! In this world to get something so precious it's best to fight for it". My heart sank. I was actually going to have to fight for this stuff? I felt as though I truley was a gladiator being forced into battle..."fine!" I said making myself seem confident. Holding up my scyth I prepared myself. This was it. I was about to fight, fight for real, with an actual weapon. My heart raced as I watched the boys broom turn into a scyth almost identical to mine. What am I going to do! I have never fought a day in my life!
