Streets Of Manhattan: Irish Gang Wars <<Sneak Peek>>

It was a cold, rainy night in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan, but not even the dampness of the city could prevent the blaze of bullets. Two went into the bumper of a getaway car, just as a man was jumping into the backseat.
“Damn Jim, we missed ‘em,” An older man, the senior detective, said to the young man in the New York Police Department uniform next to him.
“Don’t worry; I’ll have another shot at Spillane before this is over…” The young man, apparently Jim, said, with the fire of righteous anger in his eyes. “No one makes a fool of the New York Police.

“Damn Morrison, what the hell were you thinking?” An older, rounder man wearing a captain’s badge was screaming into silence.
“Calm down Cap’n. It wasn’t his fault. No one can catch Mickey Spillane.” The senior detective said into the face of his very angry superior. The headstrong man behind him, Jim Morrison, snorted, apparently disgusted.
“Can I help you?” The Captain said, not happy with being interrupted.
“Yeah, you can. Mickey Spillane runs this city, and this damn police department can’t do shit to stop him. You can stop him. Or I will.” Morrison said, storming out of the Captain’s office before either of his seniors could stop him.
“Damn kid. Damn.” His senior detective said, moving out of the office behind his young and impulsive partner. “He’s right Captain. Spillane has us wrapped around his finger, and he isn’t exactly about to let up.”
The captain sputtered unintelligibly, watching as his most trusted officer walked right out of his office.

Meanwhile, in Hell’s Kitchen, there was a lot more going on than the police department could ever imagine. A Spillane underling was found dead in an alleyway of the city. No one gets away with murdering a Spillane mobster. Spillane owned Hell’s Kitchen. No one invades his territory. Spillane was very specific on what he allowed happen in this area of Manhattan. Spillane was the most feared mobster in New York, and he would never allow drug trafficking. This new kid, the underling murderer, was completely different. Trying to be the tough guy on the block, the first thing James Coonan did was make war with Spillane. Thus starts the Irish Mob Wars.
