You and Prince Zuko had finished eating breakfast and you were back in your rooms, writing a very kind letter to the Fire Lord asking if you could please have a library of your own. Zuko was sitting in the same chair he had sat in earlier that morning; he had his eyes closed, but you knew he was alert.
When you finally finished your rather large request, you decided it was time for an interrogation.
"Prince Zuko." You said ever so sweetly as you rolled up the scroll you had written on. "Will you play a game with me?"
He opened his eyes and looked at the back of your head, as your back was turned to him.
"What kind of game?" He asked in a voice that made it sound like he was thinking you wanted to play some childish game.
"This one can be for people of all ages." You sealed the scroll and set it aside for you servant to take to the Fire Lord. "I call it 'A Question for a Question'."
"And how do you play this game?" Zuko didn't sound very interested in your game, but decided to ask about it anyways.
"It's simple really, if I ask you a question, then you must answer it. If you dont answer truthfully, or don't answer at all, then you have to do something for me. Once you have answered, then it is your turn and you get to ask me a question." You described the simple game to him.
"No." Zuko replied.
"Too bad, I want to play it." You argued. "Now, my first question is: why did you come into these chambers in the first place those years ago when I was still in that awful sleep?"
Zuko just ignored your question and closed his eyes again, hanging his head as if he went to sleep. You tiptoed over to him, trying to be as quiet as possible so that you didn't alert him that you were coming.
"Why don't you wanna play the game?!" You said, with your face only a little more than a foot away from his.
Of course, he jumped. The prince glared at you angrily and grabbed your arm.
"Don't ever do that again!" He yelled, warming up the hand that was holding your arm so that it stung your arm.
How mean! He hurt me!
Tears formed in your eyes at the pain, but you blinked them away before they escaped. When he let go of your arm, you quickly got some water out of the water basin in your dressing room and cooled the spot that hurt. The rest of the water that was in the basin you sent over to hover over Prince Zuko's head. You let go of the water and it splashed onto his head, soaking his shoulders and torso as well.
"And don't you ever do that again." You said in a monotone, your face was expressionless.
You walked stiffly out of the room, through your waiting room, and into the hallway.
"Where are you going!?" Zuko called after you, as he followed you.
"For a walk." Was all you said in reply as you continued down the hallway.
The prince followed you, glaring at your back.
Zuko must be having a bad day. He's being so mean to me.
You had walked through and around the courtyards and gardens that were within the palace walls for a few hours. When it started growing dark, Prince Zuko escorted you back to your rooms and left. Neither of you had talked to each other the whole time. As you changed into your nightclothes, you wondered if you could learn anything about the young man who was not only your new guard, but also the very person who had saved you from that long, torturous sleep.
Nighty night! Wait a minute... Nighty night means either more torturous dreams of no dreams at all! O.o Nooooo!
It was a bit odd when you woke up. Usually you only slept for two hours at the most, but this time This time you slept for three whole hours. Instead of either a dreamless or nightmare-filled sleep, you had actually dreamed a pleasant dream. Unfortunately for you, you could only remember small bits and pieces of the dream, not even enough to make it something interesting to tell. Somehow, you just knew that the dream had been a good one and you wished that you could remember all of it.
"My Lady?" Your servant stood up hesitantly. She had never known you to sleep in like this and hoped that you weren't ill. "Are you feeling well this morning, my Lady?"
You sat up and looked at her, the feeling of joy rushing through your veins. "I'm fine. In fact, I feel great!" Shoving the blankets off of you, you jumped off the bed and jumped up and down, not knowing what to do with the sudden energy that the good dream had given you.
"Are you sure?" She held a hand up to your forehead, not used to your odd behavior so early in the morning. Sure you had had some random energy bursts in the middle of the day, even at night when everybody else was sleeping, but never in the morning when you had just awaken. Finding that you didn't have a fever, she pulled her hand away and looked at you with worry.
"I feel fine, honest! I had a good dream for once and I guess that dream made me have a lot of energy!"
Talk about change in personality... O.o Am I crazy or something? *No, you'll find out why you're like this in the next chapter to come.*
You ran into your wardrobe to grab something to wear. Deciding that you weren't in the mood to wear black, you looked for something more bright and catchy. Shoving the black kimonos out of the way, you looked at the kimonos that you had in the back. You had yellows, reds, blues, greens, purples, and many other colored kimonos, you even had a rainbow one that you had bought one time when you were actually allowed to go down to the marketplace. Giggling happily, you grabbed the never-been-worn rainbow kimono and put it on.
"How do I look?" You asked as you walked back into your room. "And tell me the truth."
"Uh... Are you sure you want the truth?" Asked your servant hesitantly.
"Of course! Now tell me!"
"You look like a... like a circus performer..." She looked down, feeling ashamed that she had said something like that.
"Hmmm..." You studied yourself in the mirror. "How about we do a wacky hairstyle to go with the circus look then." A smile crossed your face as you wondered what everybody else would think seeing you dressed up like a circus girl.
"Uhm If you insist, my Lady." Grabbing your hairbrush and some other items she would need, she walked over to your chair and waited for you to sit down. When you did, she got to work on you hair, wondering what in the world was wrong with you.
When she finally finished, you walked back over to the mirror and started giggling uncontrollably. "I─hope─I─get─like─this─every─morning!" You said each word in between giggles.
Your servant's eyes went wide as she imagined you being crazy every morning. Finally deciding that there was something wrong with you, she left the room. Hoping that your new guard would know what to do, she went to fetch him before you noticed she was gone. She knocked on his door and waited to see if he was in or not. Upon getting an answer, she told Zuko that he needed to go to you as soon as possible. Of course, he opened his door and followed her to your chambers while she explained what had happened, forgetting to say that you had slept in an hour later than usual and not knowing that you had actually had a dream.
But there isn't anything wrong with me! You even said, I'll find out why I'm so hyper next chapter!
The rest is in the results. ^-^ It's really funny, so I advise that you go look.
Upon opening the door to your room, Prince Zuko found you jumping up and down; you had somehow made a kind of jump rope out of water and were now bending it so that you could... well, jump rope. Small whispers were barely heard coming from your mouth as you counted how many times you could actually jump over the rope of water without losing concentration.
Your servant's eye twitched as she watched you and your unusual childish antics. "My Lady, Prince Zuko is here."
At the sound of her voice you lost your concentration and made the wrong movement with your arms, causing the water rope to splash the ground. Unfortunately, it was right above your head when it went down and you got soaked. You stood there in shock for a minute or so, as the water had grown cold since you had started playing with it.
"Awww, now look what you did. Now I have to change in to something else!" A look of disappointment crossed your over your facial features as you trudged over to your wardrobe. "I don't even have any other outfits like this one."
You looked through your wardrobe slowly, not at all happy that you had to change into one of your other less colorful kimonos. I should buy more of these gowns next time I'm allowed to go shopping.
Suddenly it hit you. "Why didn't I just think about that in the first place!" Prince Zuko and your servant heard from your closet. You walked out of your closet and stood in front of the water basin that you had took water from in the first place. Making the appropriate movements, you took the water out of your clothes and put it back in the basin.
"Haha! Now I don't have to change into one of those un-colorful kimonos!" A large grin spread across your face as Zuko just stood in your doorway with a very confused look on his face.
