"Come on, Jaime, you don't want to get rid of me that bad now, do you?" Frank asked opening the door slightly. Pouting I'd have to say.
"Not that bad." I said giving into his 'puppy face'.
"So, can I go, pweeeeaaaaassseeee?" He said furrowing his eyebrows making the 'puppy face' more intense.
"Fine, now quit with the puppy face." I said as he smiled.
"Woof." He smiled buckling his seatbelt again. I pulled into the street and headed toward the park in the good part of the city, well the decent part of the city.
____
"Higher, Jaime, Higher!" Frank yelled as I tried to push his whale fat up more.
"Oh god, are you on a fucking cheeseburger diet? What are you eating?!" I said.
He opened his mouth to answer but before I did I managed to Moo at him.
"Moo."
"Well, excuse me." Frank said wagging his fingers like an irriated mama, "A, It's the Krispy Kream diet. And B, don't you ever make fun of my people!"
"You're just mad because your fat." I said nearly falling down trying to stop Frank's swing.
"Not fat, stupid anorexic junkie whore." Frank mumbled jumping off his swing.
"Uh-huh. That's me. A stupid anoerxic junkie whore." I smiled sitting on the swing Frank left.
"Told you." He said pushing me on the swings. It creaked as I went higher and higher.
"Come on, you push like my grandmother." I said my hair flowing in my face.
"Because I am!" He said then fake gasped.
"Grandmama?" I laughed in the air.
"Yes?" He said his voice doused with feigned age.
"Where's my bah-burfday presents from the last 16 years?" I asked. My dad claimed she was alive over and over again, but Bob and I only met her once, when I was one month, and Bob was 1 year. She never calls, she doesn't send presents or letters, we have no idea if she is six feet under, or not.
"I ate them." Frank said biting the air, making a click sound.
Frank pushed me higher and higher, until I was certain that if I was pushed any more, it would loop over the top bar and hit Frank in the back. I got a little tense, this park -even in the good part of town- was horrid. The swings were rusting and I didn't feel like having a leg where my arm was.
"Frank. Stop the swing!" I squeeled from the sky, practically.
"You're no fun Jaime! Come on, just a little higher."
"Frank. No! Please please!" I pleaded still in the air. The swing began to twist and turn. It was out of control by now. Frank saw and tried to stop it, but before he could grab the chain to stop, it snapped, and I went flying forward. I screamed in the air. For a split second, I didn't know if I was going to bash my head in the concrete or land on the foam padded ground of the children's jungle gym.
I was lucky, all my life I had been, and landed on the foam. On my arm, I must add. I blacked out for a second then openned my eyes to Frank and a few other people I hadn't ever seen in this city before.
"Sweetie, the ambulence is coming soon, don't worry." Said a mother, I assumed, about 30.
"Ambulence?" I thought I asked, but apparently it didn't come out because everyone was still staring blankly at me. A few more seconds into this situation I realized that my arm was throbbing with pain. A pain that I'd never felt before. It started small then got more and more painful. So painful that it brought me to sobs. I sat straight up and examined the arm I landed on.
It was bruised a purple green, and it was swelling. It didn't even look like an arm. It looked like a baby elephant's leg or something. I heard the sound of the ambulence coming, it wasn't that hard to comprehend that I had broken my arm. Maybe fractured. Who knew?
I looked to Frank again as he flashed his sympathetic eyes again. They said "Sorry, I didn't listen" this time. Damn straight he should've listened. If he did, I wouldn't have to be loaded onto a hospital gurney by two people I didn't know.
"Sir, I can only let family into the ambulence with her." The woman in the grey jumpsuit said.
"I'm her brother." He said following them into the big red and white truck.
"Okay." She said then loaded me in with the help of another person, this one a man, in the same grey jumpsuit.
"Honey, you'll be alright, I promise." She said hooking my good arm to an IV, "How did this happen?"
I opened my mouth so I could explain, but she shushed me and handed me some pills and water.
"Take those, they're pain killers. They might make you a tad drowzy, so don't fight it."
I nodded. She popped them in my mouth for me and slowly poured in water. It was a little flat, being as it wasn't cold. Right away the pills began working, making my arm's throbbing pain more and more easy, until it just stopped. My eyelids grew heavy, and I slowly let them fall.
"Okay. Uhm?" She asked.
"Frank."
"Okay, so Frank what exactly happened....." She said trailing off as I closed my eyes completely.
