Sasuke
'I can't believe this, Sakura is so annoying!' I rolled my eyes, "Wait Sasuke you have a brother? But I thought-" "Sakura, shut up while your ahead, you've done enough damage today." Kanako said angrily, I could tell she was piss off at Sakura, I mean Sakura is my team mate but she didn't have to go screaming like that. "Hey! Who are you to tell me to shut up!?" She stood up and slammed her hands on the table, Kanako was sitting across from her and she stood up too, "Sakura, you have 10 seconds to sit down before I hurt you and 8 seconds have passed." I looked at Sakura, she was weak! Kanako would brutalize her, Sakura just crossed her arms and I shook my head, she 'was' my teammate but she needs to learn to shut up, maybe Kanako will just threaten her. "Sakura, you are so stupid." Kanako lounged across the table and grabbed Sakura's neck and slammed her down. I blinked twice; Kanako moved so fast I didn't even see her; Kanako was punching Sakura in the face fast, Kanako did about three punches before Sakura even reacted, all of this was happening next to me. Naruto was watching, looking over my shoulder wide eyed and mouth agape, I looked at Kanako's team mates and saw Lanaka was already coming around the table pulling Kanako off of Sakura. The door busted opened, "Kanako! What is the matter with you today! Whatever it is you need to fix it quick now go outside. NOW!" Kanako had a type of fire in her eyes that I've never seen before and as quickly as I saw she turned her head and walked out. I looked at Sakura and saw Kakashi come in with a towel, Kanako had busted her lips and her nose was bleeding, "Kakashi I'm sorry, I don't know what's gotten into to her lately." Renutso said. "Don't apologize; I'm sure Sakura wasnt as innocent as she wants us to believe." "But Kakashi Sensei-!" He raised his hand to silence Sakura and gave her the towel; Dejante laughed point blank, "Damn Sakura! You got that ass whooped!" Renutso sensei snapped, "Get into the other room now!" Dejante quickly covered his mouth as he walked, "Sorry Sensei." Renutso and Dejante left and I stood up, "Kakashi sensei, if I can add something." "Yes, Sasuke go ahead." I looked directly into Sakura's eyes and shook my head, "Sakura got what she deserved, I think Kanako did the right thing." I stuck my hands in my pockets and walked outside, it had gotten darker and cooler and I pulled my collar up. The ground shook roughly and I saw a few trees fall in the forest; I walked in that direction knowing soon I would find Kanako.
"Keyanen, where are you? I don't want to lose faith but this is beginning to become hopeless! You've been gone almost two years, how do you expect me to find you...or are you really dead?" she whispered crying, it wasn't loud uncontrollable, mostly silent with a few sniffles. I leaned against a tree and watched her, she cried for her brother and cursed my own, "Funny isnt it? I want my brother and you hate yours." I lifted an eyebrow, how long did she know I was here, "Why are you crying? You just beat up Sakura, which made you cry because?" "I was thinking about my brother, he had taught me this jutsu I just did and it made me cry." She said wiping her eyes; I didn't know what to say, I havent cried for a family member in a long time. She stood up with her back to me; I didn't like the way everything was here, "Well, I guess I might as well help you get that wood." I did my hand seal, and set a few trees ablaze, I looked at her and she crossed her arms, "Slicey Jutsu!" My fire jutsu had made the trees weaker but it didn't seem like she needed my help. I smirked at her, "Slicey Jutsu?" She laughed and scratched her head nervously, "My brother named it, we were just little kids shut up." "So out of all the names, he picked slicey?" She blushed, "I wanted to name it slice n dicey." I laughed and jumped at the sound of it, I hadnt laughed in so long, "You two were a piece of work." She smiled and then it disappeared, "Yeah we were." The sound of my stomach rumbling broke the silence, "I'm hungry." "Well I figured that one out, Sasuke. I'm going to catch me some fish." She started walking and I walked along side her, "Fish huh? Do you even know how to fish?" She smiled, "Of course I don't." I put my head down, I thought she was going to say of course she does, my stomach rumbled again. "Well, we've got the first part down; we've found the river, now we need the fish." I said as we walked up to the lapping water.
"Turn around." I fold my arms, "Why?" She smiled but her tone was a little serious, "Did you not just what happened to the last person who didn't do what I ask." I stared at her for a few seconds before turning to humor her; I had counted to the number 62 when I heard a splash. I turned, and saw all of her clothes on the ground. I looked out into the water and saw her standing in the river with the water up to her shoulders, I shook my head. "Aren't you worried about some peeping tom watching you skinny dip?" She smirked and laced her hands together and spoke in a light tone. She was pretending to be a damsel in distress, "Oh no, thats why I have my darling Uchiha, Sasuke watching out for the bad ninjas who might try to snatch me up into the night. Oh, just the thought of it makes me feel light headed, oh again, my darling Uchiha, my Sasuke will you come in the water and protect me?" She broke out laughing, "Sorry Sasuke but if you're looking for a girl to protect, go find Sakura. I will kill a ninja if I ever caught him watching me, naked or otherwise." I shook my head and said smoothly, "I'm a ninja and I'm watching you, naked." She smiled and looked away but I had already seen the red in her face, "You are someone I know, I'm talking about some random person. Why don't you make your self useful and like build a fire or something." I knew she was just doing that to get me to leave so I couldn't see her blushing, too late. I had to admit she was unpredictable, and it felt thrilling to be with her, something I couldn't say for Sakura. I picked up the wood from the fallen trees and returned back to the river with 3 logs under each arm. I found big rocks and made a circle with them, I put two logs in the circle and set them on fire, it took a while but soon they were burning on their own, the fire gave me comfort from the night's cool air. "I know Kanako's must be freezing." "Sasuke!" I looked out into the water and saw Kanako with an armful of dead fish; I stood there wondering what she wanted me to do. "Sasuke come get these so I can put on my clothes, it isnt exactly warm in here you know." I smiled, "Now how am I supposed to get those? Without getting wet I might add." I walked into the water until my waist down was in, "How about I toss them to you?" "Ok, just don't drop any." She rolled her eyes and carefully set the fish out in front of her, "Well what do you know, dead fish float!" She tossed one to me and it slipped from my hands, I looked ridiculous floundering in the water after a dead fish, after I got a good grip I threw it to land. "I wish I had a camera to capture that, Sasuke that was priceless." "You can't do better!" I said as I caught the next fish successfully and threw that to land and fell next to the other fish with a squishy sound, "I caught and killed them, I've done my part." After a minute had passed, I counted eleven fish, and my hands reeked. I turned to the bank and collected the fish with Kanako behind me, I wanted to look at her, it was a desire I've never felt but I had to keep it under control. I heard her dressing and soon she was done and came fully into my view, by that time I had all the fish by the fire. She walked off and then came back with four skinny sticks; she slid them through the fish and popped a hole out the side for the other end. "I take it you've done this before." She looked at me amazed, "You havent? You've never just ventured away from home a couple of days, feeling independent?"
"No I havent, what would make you leave your home? The safety and security of you parents?" I didn't get what would drive her to be independent, I watched her stick the sticks into the ground and leaned them to the fire, she was quiet and I wondered if she had heard my question. She reached behind her head and let her hair down from the bun, it fell and splayed in her lap, crinkled from being in the bun so a while, damn it was long, "I don't know what it is, my family feels...fake without my brother. I mean my father's never there, he runs a shop that's open for 24 hours, my mother always tried to have a happy face but inside I can tell she's broken because of my brother. Everything that happens there is by instinct alone, we barely talk, we just wake up she makes breakfast, I eat it, I leave to come here, and then I leave here and go back home, to eat dinner. She might ask me what I did, but thats it. I wake up, eat, train, eat, sleep, thats my life. I just feel like there's something I should be doing, like there's something in my mind I know, but can't quite remember, sometimes I would find myself walking somewhere I don't even know, but it feels like I've been there before. Then I would see things, in my dreams, a large village, happy people, everyone smiling down at me and my brother and then the same people immediately turn away with frowns and scolds, they'd call me and my brother abominations and demon spawns. Then I would see this woman's face, she's the only one smiling at me. Her and this man who was lurking behind trees, they adored us and then people from the village made the man disappear and the woman wasnt there anymore, her face was replaced by my mother's. I hate the dreams I have; they are sometimes extremely violent, or calmly peaceful." I picked one of the fish up and ate it off the stick, it was nice and crunchy and a little burned but it was still good. I looked at Kanako differently now, here was a sensitive side to her I havent seen in so many years. She was one of the only girls who would jump at the chance to spar with boys in the academy, she wasnt boy crazy like the other girls, and she didn't whine when she broke a nail or cut herself. She also always had a stoicism-ness to her, some of the time she didn't need anything from anyone, she was a survivor, and well me I'm an avenger. Even now I know tomorrow she would pretend like this talk hadnt happened, she didn't want to show any weakness, and that's what made me like her...
